91 points James Suckling: "It shows dried cherries, dried raspberries, cedar, tobacco and spices. Round and resolved on the palate with a good, but not overbearing, drying effect to the tannins. Solid on the finish." (06/2019) K&L Notes: A K&L Direct Import! Jesús Puelles is one of the most talented vignerons in Rioja. Hailing from a long line of vineyard worker/owners, Puelles knows the terruño in his little slice of land in the Rioja Alta town of Abalos. All of the grapes for his red wines come from his own 26 hectares, on chalky clay soil, all withi...

2007 Malescasse, Haut-Médoc (1.5L)
Top Pick!
Château Malescasse is an historic property ideally situated on gravel soils close to the Gironde River just north of Margaux. While it is true that 2007 will never have the power or authority of the finest vintages of the decade, the best wines display a remarkable ripeness and an admirable richness of texture. These are medium to full-bodied reds with soft tannins that will make great near to medium-term drinking. They are priced appropriately and many, like this 2007 Malescasse, offer exceptional value.

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Opaque ruby. Ripe, luscious aromas of blackberry, blueberry, candied licorice, violet and cocoa powder. Concentrated, broad and deep, with palate-coating dark berry flavors complicated by vanilla bean, mace and mocha. Closes with supple, harmonious tannins and sweet notes of fruitcake, dark chocolate and subtle minerality. (ST)" (05/2011)

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Steinhauer Ranch was very good...Interestingly, each year when I taste through these wines, the sum of the individual parts is always the best wine...Nevertheless, it is an exercise in single vineyard terroirs and is an interesting process. Usually there are around 250 cases of each of these single vineyard offerings. The single vineyard offerings are all noteworthy, and analytically, they are more similar than dissimilar." (12/2010) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cell...

Lillian began when Maggie Harrison was working at Sine Qua Non and has grown ever since. For this 2007, she had access to fruit from the Stolpman vineyard in Ballard Canyon and the Bien Nacido vineyard as well as her first source, the White Hawk vineyard outside of Los Alamos. The regular bottling of Lillian's 2007 Syrah garnered 94 points from Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, but this "Blue Label" is actually a more rarified selection from the producer which wasn't professionally reviewed.

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet colored with just a hint of brick, the 2007 Proprietary Red Paradise Hills Vineyard opens with compelling notes of baked plums, blackberry tart and fruitcake with an undercurrent of dried Provence herbs, menthol, beef drippings, unsmoked cigars and cedar chest. The concentrated, full-bodied palate is laden with minted black fruits and meaty/savory flavors, framed with a firm, grainy texture and wonderful freshness, finishing very long. (LPB)" (08/2018) 94 points Vinous: "Full medium ruby. Some sligh...

Cain makes some of the most classically styled and age-worthy red wines in California. They are not bawdy, voluptuous wines, but wines of grace and class. The 2007 Cain "Five" is the perfect example of this. From an incredible vintage where a lot of winemakers made flashy wines, this blend of 68% Cabernet, 16% Merlot, 6% Malbec, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc shows remarkable restraint. Made entirely from fruit grown in the Cain Vineyard, the "Five" is balanced and rich, but still intense. It will benefit from aging five to seven years, and even u...

92 points Wine Spectator: "Firm, with a minerally, pebbly edge to the wild berry, raspberry and floral scents. Full-bodied, intense and concentrated, showing greater depth and dimension on the finish, where the flavors reveal their persistence. Drink now through 2018. 670 cases made." (09/10) The aromatics of the Pinot noir express precise red cherry, raspberry and candied strawberry. The fruit is framed by an intense truffle note as well as scorched earth, clove, citrus rind and beach plums. The palate is full, rich and well structured with intense ber...

93 points Vinous: "Bright purple. Wild, intense aromas of black raspberry, cherry compote, gingerbread and floral oils. Incisive dark berry flavors are complicated by violet pastille, licorice and a touch of allspice. Possesses a powerful spine and displays outstanding finesse, finishing with impressive lift and zesty, spice-driven persistence. Showing more vivacity than the richer Garys' and will be approachable earlier, I'll bet. (ST)" (05/2010) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Syrah Hawke’s Butte exhibits a floral, blueberry, and b...

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid red. Vibrant red and dark berry scents are complicated by white pepper, dried rose and smoky minerals. Impressively fresh strawberry and black raspberry flavors stain the palate, picking up a bitter licorice quality on the back end. Puts on weight with air and finishes with a jolt of smoky Indian spices. This is the most open-knit of the Pinots this year." (06/2009) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Rich, fleshy, full-bodied and expansive, with a mix of savory berry, herb, tea, tobacco and earth. We...

Here is a fine find from the Right Bank. Founded in 1704, this 14-hectare estate run by the Bardet family is located on gravelly/clay soils that impart depth and complexity to the wine. 86% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. We just discovered this property in 2019, and we have already sold quite a bit of their 1995 and 1996. Super old-school label for an “old school” property. This wine has lots of red berry aromas and flavors. It really opens up with some decanting.

2007 Labégorce-Zédé, Margaux (1.5L) (Previously $110) (Previously $110)
Top Pick!
90 points Wine Enthusiast: "From 2009, Labégorce-Zédé will no longer exist, being amalgamated with Château Labégorce-Margaux. So this 2007 is one of the last vintages. The wine has solid but lively black fruits, the tannins dark, firm and full of blackberry juice flavors with a touch of cranberry dryness. It is definitely for aging. (RV)" (06/2010) Wine Spectator: "Delicate aromas of currant and flowers follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and an aftertaste of licorice and delicate berry. Fresh and elegant. (JS, Web-2010)" K&L Notes: Thi...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Very similar to the 2006, Kameron's '07 Bordeaux blend, which is based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, is upfront in blackberry, cherry, cassis, oak and spice flavors. It's quite tannic, with a puckery astringency that suggests needed time in the cellar. *Cellar Selection*" (08/2011)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Pierre Damoy Chambertin Grand Cru (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A cool and ripe nose of plum plus red and blue pinot fruit reflects a floral note that continues onto the earthy and extremely rich and mouth coating broad-shouldered flavors that possess massive amounts of extract that confers a lush if powerful impression on the palate staining finish supporting by firm tannins and a clear sense of underlying tension. There is simply terrific material here and this could easily surprise to the upside with a decade in bottle." (01/2010)
Starting Bid: $726.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Pierre Damoy Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe and layered high-toned red and black pinot fruit nose precedes lightly oaked, concentrated, structured and serious flavors, all wrapped in a slightly animale and noticeably firm finish. This is a pretty and balanced effort that offers solid if not truly special persistence." (01/2010)
Starting Bid: $510.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Hundred Acre "Precious" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Precious has a medium garnet color and nose of earth, tea, unsmoked cigars and fragrant soil with red and black currants. Full, firm, grainy and wonderfully savory, it finishes long and earthy. (LPB)" (12/2018)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine de Ferrand Châteauneuf-du-Pape (98RP, 96JS, 94VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the wines of the vintage is the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape from Philippe Bravey, and I’ve drunk more than a case of this wine and have consistently rated it at the upper end of the spectrum (however, some bottles suffer from too much volatile acidity). Big, full-bodied, layered and unctuous, it has a huge nose of garrigue, black fruits, saddle leather and licorice. (JD)" (02/2017)
Starting Bid: $410.00

Bid on this magnum of 2007 Domaine Saint Siffrein Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (94JD, 94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest effort I have yet tasted from this estate, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is composed of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault. Its traditional upbringing included 100% aging in old foudres. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a big, sweet, juicy kiss of kirsch liqueur intermixed with blacker fruits, raspberries, licorice, camphor, and hints of lavender and incense. The wine exhibits terrific concentration, full-bodied intensity, and a 45-50-second finish. This sensational Chateauneuf du Pape will benefit from another 2-3 years of bottle age, and should drink well for 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2009)
Starting Bid: $70.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino (95RP, 95ST, 94JS, 92JG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s 2007 Brunello di Montalcino has developed beautifully over the last year. Freshly cut flowers, dark raspberries, spices and mint all take shape in a 2007 that impresses for its freshness and pure energy. Sweet roses and violets linger on the finish. I imagine the 2007 will enjoy a very broad drinking window. Today it is drop-dead gorgeous. The combination of dry extract above 34 and acidity north of 6% is exceedingly rare and suggests the wine will age for several decades. (AG)" (06/2013)
Starting Bid: $67.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Camille Giroud Latricieres Chambertin Grand Cru ((90-93ST), 90WS). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full red. Plum and raspberry fruit aromas are perked up by pungent minerality and complicated by saline and smoked meat nuances. Big, plush and broad but dry, with impressive volume leavened by spices. Finishes with dusty tannins and a surprising combination of sweetness and lift. This one has the highest VA of these 2007s today, at 0.7, according to Croix." (03/2009)
Starting Bid: $82.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Serene "Jerusalem Hill" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (92RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Pinot Noir Jerusalem Hill takes it up a notch. It exhibits a captivating nose of pain grille, damp earth, cinnamon, incense, wild cherry, and raspberry. Consistent high quality has been a benchmark of the winery and the 2007s will do nothing to change that. (JM) " (10/2009)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine Serene "Mark Bradford" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (92RP, 91BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Pinot Noir Mark Bradford is darker in color than the preceding wines. Expressive aromatically, it offers up toasty oak, Asian spices, floral notes, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry. (JM) 92+" (10/2009)
Starting Bid: $165.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JS, 100RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Scarecrow's inky/purple-colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is a prodigious effort. It reveals a liqueur of crushed rocks intermixed with a smorgasbord of spring flower, blueberry, creme de cassis, and assorted blue, black, and red fruit characteristics. It also possesses extraordinary concentration, but what sets it apart is the fragrant aromatics combined with uncommon purity and elegance for such a full-bodied, massively concentrated wine. Its perfect balance suggests it can be drunk at a relatively young age, but it should easily evolve over 30-35 years. Congratulations to all involved! (RP)" (12/2009)

Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Levy & McClellan Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon has closed down slightly since last year. Now in bottle, it exhibits an opaque purple color as well as a similar but more subdued bouquet of lead pencil shavings, burning embers, blueberry liqueur, creme de cassis and flowers. Powerful, rich and pure, its statuesque structure, lavish concentration and formidable tannin levels suggest 3-5 years of bottle age is warranted. This may turn out to be the finest Cabernet Sauvignon produced in the short history of the Levy and McClellan Diamond Mountain winery, although the 2008 has the potential to equal it. The 2007 should last for three decades or more. (RP)" (12/2010)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine du Pegau "Cuvée Réservée" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96JD, 95RP, 95WS, 94ST). Jeb Dunnuck: "Beautifully rich and meaty, yet with a structured edge, the 2007 Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée delivers a textbook Pégaü profile with smoked plums, beef blood, roasted garrigue, lavender, and iron like qualities literally souring from the glass. Full bodied and focused on the palate, with edgy underlying structure, thrilling fruit, and a broad, chewy mid-palate and finish, this brilliant Châteauneuf-du-Pape took the better part of the evening to open up, and was even better on the second day." (03/2012)
Starting Bid: $430.00

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Grace Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93ST, 92RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Serious, youthfully medicinal nose combines blackberry, licorice pastille, graphite, violet and fruity bitter chocolate. Intensely flavored and deep if youthfully imploded, with terrific verve to its flavors of cassis, minerals and bitter chocolate. Quite backward but already hinting at the sweetness to come. The wine's vibrant acidity, superb intensity and serious tannic clout give it the components for a long and slow evolution in bottle. An outstanding vintage for this wine. (ST)" (05/2010)
