Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...the wine does offer medium ruby color, a spicy, attractive, bing cherry, vanillin-scented nose, ripe, medium-bodied flavors, light tannin, and adequate depth... (RP)" (02/1994) Wine Spectator: "A floral, fresh wine with light body and a refreshing finish..." (03/1994)

Bid on this bottle of 1991 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (97VN, 95BH, 95JG, 94RP). Vinous: "One of the real highlights in this tasting, the 1991 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze opens with the most striking, exquisite aromatics imaginable. All of those nuances follow through to the palate, where the wine is silky, deeply expressive and captivating. Now mature, the 1991 has enough pedigree to drink well for the next two decades, perhaps longer. Mint, dried flowers, sage, cherry and hard candies are some of the many notes that are laced into the haunting, deeply evocative finish. This is just about as good as it gets. (AG)" (06/2016)
Bid on this bottle of 1991 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN, 93RP, 92JG, 91WS). Vinous: "Bright, deep red-ruby. Wonderfully mellow and complex on the nose, offering everything from fresh dark fruits to chocolate, red licorice, flowers and graphite minerality. Pure liquid silk in the mouth; at once sharply delineated and edge-free thanks to superb harmonious acidity, possessing a wonderfully tight core of juicy fruit. This very dry, classic Howell Mountain Cabernet finishes with serious dusty but sweet tannins and will still improve. Stunning wine. (ST)" (08/2018)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1991 Dominus "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94JG, 94VN). Vinous: "Healthy deep medium red. Musky plum, cherry jam, spices and chocolate on the nose, complicated by hints of leather, mocha and truffle. Utterly refined, sophisticated wine with the complex soil-driven animal and vegetable notes of a great mature Bordeaux. Distinctly wild but also wonderfully silky and seamless, this midweight wine is a clear standout from the early years of this winery. Evolving very slowly but à point right now. Finishes very subtle and long, with a firm dusting of tannins and surprising structure and grip. Classically dry, showing lovely life in the mouth and lift on the back end, but this is about as far from primary Napa Valley fruit as a Napa wine can be. (ST)" (07/2018)
