2018 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
95 points Decanter: "Jean-Nicolas made two cuvées of Clos de Vougeot in 2017, but reverted to one in 2018. Fresh, charming and refined, the result is a supple, floral Pinot Noir that's almost good to drink straight out of the barrel, with aromatic cinnamon spice, fine tannins and very well-integrated 80% new wood. Not the most structured Grand Cru perhaps, but this is very sweet and engaging. (TA)" (10/2018) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is also showing very well, exhibiting aromas of sweet wild berries...

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The smoked bacon-scented, medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Clos Vougeot is an outstanding, medium to full-bodied wine. Silky-textured, pure, and sultry, it is a well-focused, decadently styled, spicy blackberry, candied blueberry, and cherry-flavored offering. Its thick yet juicy layers of dense fruits coat the palate. While it is packed with super-ripe flavors, they are well-delineated. Its impressively long finish reveals loads of supple, cherry-coated tannin. This wonderful Clos Vougeot should be consumed b...

94-96 points Vinous: "The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a very perfumed, floral bouquet of ebullient dark plum and elderberry fruit intermingled with light sea spray/seaweed aromas, all beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, a fine bead of acidity and a crunchy, minerally finish that does this ancient clos proud. Superb. Give it 5–6 years in bottle. (NM)" (12/2020) 91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Distinctly earthy aromas are comprised by notes of both red and dark currant along with pretty floral wisps. T...

2019 Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Back In Stock!
95 points Decanter: "Alain Hudelot-Noëllat sold his parcel at the bottom of the Clos, but the domaine retains 0.69ha at the top of the slope in the lieux-dits Chiores and Garenne. These vines were planted in 1950 and deliver ripe, forward red and black fruit, with a great complexity of savoury, mineral and floral undertones. The texture is fresh and lively, yet there is impressive density lurking in the background. One of the top bottlings from the Clos de Vougeot. (CC)" (10/2020) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Gr...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rich aromas of cassis, plums, warm spices, dark chocolate and toasty new oak introduce Boillot's 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, a full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine that's layered and elegantly muscular, with lively acids and powdery structuring tannins. Youthfully reserved, this has turned out very nicely. (WK)" (01/2021) 92 points Decanter: "This comes from two parcels totalling less than one-third of a hectare, both in Grand Maupertuis near the top of the Clos. The grapes were completely destemmed prior t...

95 points Decanter: "A beautifully perfumed Petits Vougeots with lifted red flowers, raspberries and sweet spices. A wine of great finesse, refined tannins and a supple, lingering length – the palate texture is closer to a Vosne-Romanée than a Vougeot. A small proportion of whole clusters were added during fermentation; aged in barriques (two-thirds new) for over a year. (JCL)" (05/2020) 90-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Vougeot 1er Cru Les Petits Vougeot has turned out very well, opening in the glass with a lovely bouquet of cassi...

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Soft wood and herbal tea notes combines with those of dark currant, raspberry and spice wafts. There is both good verve and detail to the nicely focused and relatively powerful flavors that display firm but not rustic tannins on the youthfully austere finale where the wood suggested by the nose reemerges." (01/2019)

95 points Decanter: "Hudelot-Noëllat's 0.8ha holding is made up of two parcels, both of them in the best bit of the Grand Cru. Aged in 40% new wood, this is a not a blockbuster style by any means, emphasizing freshness, balance and harmony instead. Floral, racy and supple, it has well-integrated 40% new wood, some vanilla spice and a poised, elegant finish. (TA)" (10/2019) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of wild berries, spices, peonies, dark chocolate and subtle hints of grilled meats introduce the 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, a...

2017 Domaine d'Eugénie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Top Pick!
94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A distinctly cool and very reserved nose only grudgingly offers up notes of red current, dark cherry and spice and freshly turned earth. There is excellent vivacity to the equally big-bodied and powerful flavors that also possess excellent mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a succulent but entirely serious youthfully austere finish that is quite firmly structured. Over the last few years the Clos de Vougeot appears to have taken over the crown as the best wine in the range and so it is again in 2017." (01/2020)...

92-94 points Vinous: "The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is completely de-stemmed and matures in 80% new oak. It has an expressive and aromatic bouquet with pretty blueberry, raspberry and iodine aromas that burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very effervescent from the start with vivid red and black fruit infused with orange zest and light fig notes. Very fine. (NM)" (01/2019) 89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Firm reduction overshadows the fruit at present. More positively, there is excellent energy and density ...

93-96 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "*Don't Miss!* A deft touch of wood sets off the ripe, dense and quite elegant black cherry aromas that are layered with notes of earth and floral nuances. This is also impressively complex with wonderfully rich, intense and well-structured big-bodied flavors that brim with an abundance of dry extract on the mouth coating, balanced, long and extremely serious finish. One difference between this and many youthful examples of the appellation is that there is almost no austerity present on the vibrant backend. This to...

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is performing very well, wafting from the glass with a deep-pitched bouquet of cassis, wild berries, incense, rich soil tones and woodsmoke. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and broad-shouldered, with a deep and layered core, rich structuring tannins and ripe but succulent acids. Long and sapid, this is another excellent Clos Vougeot from Faiveley, and this cuvée seems to go from strength to strength every year. (WK)" (01/2020) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Bu...

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is very ripe, indeed to the point where the cassis, warm earth and softly floral-scented aromas exhibit hints of mocha. In much the same fashion as the Clos St. Denis there is a relatively sleek mouth feel to the solidly intense and muscular larger-scaled flavors that possess a lovely sense of harmony and excellent complexity on the lingering finish that is a bit less youthfully austere than usual." (04/2018) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Black cherry and blackberry compote flavors hold court in this fruit-fil...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, soaring from the glass with aromas of wild berries, rose petals, violets, orange rind and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with lively acids and a powdery but elegantly refined chassis of structuring tannins, concluding with a long and resonant finish. (WK)" (01/2020) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This plays right on the edge of volatile acidity with its nose of poached plum, black raspberry and warm earth. ...

Bid on this bottle of 2015 Domaine Jean Grivot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((95-97RP), 95VN, 94BH, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a detailed, precise bouquet, very pure with ripe dark cherries, kirsch, orange sorbet and subtle graphite aromas. It is one of the classiest that you will come across from this ancient vineyard this year. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin that feel a little fuller and suppler than the premier cru Vosne-Romanées. Grippy in the mouth with an effervescent finish, this is a long-term Clos de Vougeot that will age effortlessly over 20-30 years. (NM)" (12/2016)

2015 Maison Olivier Bernstein Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
New!
96 points Wine Spectator: "Dark and smoky, delivering black cherry, black currant, graphite and wet earth aromas and flavors. Powerful, yet reined in by the lively acidity. The tannins are refined and well-integrated. Excellent length. (BS)" (11/2017) 92-95 points Vinous: "Dark red with ruby tones. Reduced aromas of black cherry, licorice and wild herbs. Then wonderfully silky yet also utterly primary in the mouth, offering high-pitched black cherry and herb flavors and finishing with substantial granular tannins. Almost austere but not exactly hard, e...

Bid on this 6L-bottle of 2006 Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (6L) (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Medicinal, high-pitched nose offers currant, cherry, flowers and spices, with complicating notes of caraway seed and menthol. Then dense, sappy and bright, with lovely mineral lift to the red fruit and spice flavors. Taut, focused and very young Clos Vougeot, finishing with a firm tannic spine. This may ultimately merit an even higher score. (ST) 91+" (03/2009)
Starting Bid: $1,250.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. Like many of Burgundy's families, the Mongeards have been in the region a long time, having arrived in Vosne-Romanée sometime in the 18th century. The family has likely been making wine for almost as long—records show a Mongeard as the vingeron for the famed Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in 1786—so it's probably safe to say they have Pinot Noir in their blood. These days the Mongeards own 33 hectares across 35 appellations, and the domaine is led by Vincent Mongeard, who started working with his father, Jean Mongeard, back in 1975.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine d'Eugénie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((93-95ST), 94RP, 93BH, 93DC). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright red with ruby tones. Precise aromas of black cherry, licorice and herbs. Spicy and penetrating on the palate; a bit strict but offers a great combination of sweetness and minerality. At once classy and powerful, finishing with a lingering element of saline minerality and firm, noble tannins that saturate the entire mouth." (01/2013)
Starting Bid: $320.00

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Dominique Laurent Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. Dominique Laurent is a small scale but high quality négociant (and former pâtissier) based in Nuits-St-Georges. His first production of wine was in 1988. The portfolio is based on very small parcels of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines in dozens of appellations across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Quantities of individual wines are often tiny, with some wines made in just a single barrique which bestows just 300 bottles.

2012 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
New!
94 points Wine & Spirits: "This comes from Jadot’s five-acre holding in Clos Vougeot. The vines in Jadot’s holding are 50- to 60-years-old, located from halfway to two-thirds of the way up the hill. My notes from the blind tasting read like a lecture from Jacques Lardière, the recently retired technical director at Jadot, who often spoke as if he’d been dynamized for a biodynamic prep: 'Floral buzz. The feel of limestone in the tannins. Energized. Vigorous.' Aside from the energy in the wine, there is a lovely richness, the powerful tannins seamlessly me...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Lucien Le Moine Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((91-94BH), (91-93RP), 93VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " There is excellent volume and richness to the opulently-textured middle weight plus flavors that possess good verve on the relatively detailed and beautifully long finish that displays a hint of youthful austerity. This is also very firmly structured and while it's not quite as complex as the Clos de la Roche I very much like the impeccable balance." (04/2016)
Starting Bid: $345.00

Bid on this bottle of 2003 Domaine Faiveley Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((92-95BH), (89-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Subtle oak spice and ripe plum and black raspberry aromas introduce rich, round and chiseled, muscular and very full-bodied sappy flavors that culminate in a punchy, robust and ultra powerful finish. This is a huge, indeed massive but not heavy or excessively rich wine that maintains a wonderful sense of balance. *Don't Miss*" (01/2005)
Starting Bid: $110.00

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A more deeply pitched and much earthier and gamier array mixes notes of various red berries, floral and enough wood influence to mention. Like the Les Cras the broad-shouldered flavors possess a sleekly muscular mouth feel while delivering excellent length on the firm, serious and youthfully austere finale. I would suggest allowing this at least 7 to 8 years of cellaring first." (01/2017) 94 points Vinous: "The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has perhaps the most succinct bouquet of 16 peers tasted blind, offerin...
Price: $1,325.00

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Bouchard often does quite well with this appellation and so it is again in 2012 as there is fine complexity to the brooding nose that is less spicy than the Ech but earthier with game and underbrush nuances to the dark berry fruit aromas. There is excellent volume and focused power to the broad-shouldered, intense and concentrated flavors that possess an abundance of palate coating dry extract, all wrapped in a firm, serious, persistent and moderately austere finale. This will not be a good candidate for early con...
