2011 Bell Hill Pinot Noir North Canterbury
Back In Stock!
98 points Bob Campbell: "Tasted alongside the Old Weka Pass Road there was a clear family resemblance with both wines expressing similar tautness, purity and minerality but this more expensive label shows significantly greater concentration and structure. Supremely powerful Pinot Noir but the power is delivered with great finesses. Clearly built for the long haul, I would feel a sense of loss if I opened a bottle before 2019 and expect it to continue to give pleasure for more than a decade after that. " (07/2014) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Firm but gen...

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is full of fruit and weighty tannins. Coming from one of the finest vineyards in Burgundy, it is going to have great power and an opulent nature. This wine also has elegance, its black fruits controlled and with a mineral edge. That doesn't take away the power, it enhances the stylishness of this grand wine. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (09/2014) 95 points John Gilman: "The 2011 Rossignol-Trapet Chambertin is also a very, very fine bottle in the making. The deep, pure and youthful nose wafts from the glass in a mix of red a...

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A highly perfumed, pure and very pretty nose of plum, rose petal and red currant aromas introduces intensely mineral-driven, vibrant and beautifully well-delineated flavors that terminate in a markedly saline, clean and crisp finish. I very much like the depth and persistence and this should make for a really lovely effort with the proper cellar time of 10 to 12 years." (04/2013) 92 points John Gilman: "The 2011 les Aigrots is an excellent wine, jumping from the glass in a classy blend of cherries, a touch of bl...
Price: $129.99

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "In contrast to the reduction present in the prior wines this is really quite aromatically lovely with its expressive nose of very fresh red berry fruit, earth and humus scents. There are the same kinds of very fine-grained tannins underpinning the opulent yet reasonably precise medium weight flavors that culminate in a balanced and persistent if slightly less complex finish." (01/2013) 92 points John Gilman: "The Charmes, Mazis and Clos de la Roche were all raised in one wine barrels in this vintage, as has been...

90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a hint of herbaceousness to the otherwise fresh and ripe red Pinot fruit, spice and earth elements that actually adds breadth. The broad-shouldered, concentrated and punchy medium weight plus flavors possess fine size and weight along with a certain muscularity on the extract-rich finish. In typical Fournières fashion, this is a robust and rustic effort with mouth coating tannins and as such it will require extended cellaring." (04/2013)
Price: $79.99

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An intensely spicy and strikingly fresh red and blue Pinot fruit nose enjoys added breadth in the form of plum, earth and wet stone nuances. There is excellent detail and plenty of punch to the medium-bodied flavors that are brimming with a cool minerality, all wrapped in a balanced, linear and hugely persistent finish. This too is just terrific but be prepared to be patient. *Outstanding, Sweet Spot*" (04/2013) 92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium bright red. Aromas of black che...

2011 Belle Glos "Dairyman Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Back In Stock!
92 points Wine Spectator: "Dark in hue, rich and dense, this offers a potent mix of berry pie flavors that are lively, complex and well-oaked. Quite harmonious, with the fruit and creamy wood scents in sync. (JL)" (09/2013) K&L Notes: Owner and winemaker Joseph Wagner named Belle Glos winery in honor of his grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner, who was a co-founder of Caymus Vineyards in Napa Valley. Wagner produces Pinots from all over California and the grapes for this particular wine come from the Dairyman vineyard in the Russian River Valley of So...

96 points John Gilman: "The 2011 Trapet Chambertin is absolutely magical and one of the best 2011s... The classic and youthful nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, black minerality, plummy overtones, raw cocoa, mustard seed, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and youthfully structured, with the purity of the vintage very much in evidence, a great core, ripe, firm tannins and superb focus and grip on the very, very long and soil-driven finish. This is the most aromatically expressive of the three g...

Bid on this magnum of 2011 Aubert "CIX" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (1.5L) (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Pinot Noir CIX Vineyard is gorgeous. Dark red cherries, flowers, mint and licorice all come together nicely. A pointed, beautifully articulated wine, the 2011 impresses for its focus, length and nuance. Like its Chardonnay sibling, the CIX Pinot lacks a little of the mid-palate stuffing that will likely come with further vine age. Today, the CIX is a bit tight, but I imagine it will always remain energetic and vibrant in style. (AG)" (04/2013)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Louis Jadot Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru ((92-95ST), (91-93BH)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright medium red. Medicinal cherry liqueur, red licorice and spicy oak on the nose. Then penetrating and intense but suave, with lovely sappiness to the flavors of raspberry, cranberry and flowers. The grower Jadot buys this fruit from has recently added a vibrating sorting table, and converted entirely to new stainless steel fermentation tanks as of 2010." (01/2013)
Starting Bid: $187.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2011 King Estate "Backbone" Oregon Pinot Noir. Wine Enthusiast: " Fragrant and soft, this sends up a chocolaty mix of strawberry and raspberry fruit scents and flavors. It's a barrel selection from a variety of vineyards, and is young enough to show a stiff, somewhat herbal edge to the tannins. Give it an hour or two in a decanter for best drinking. (PG)" (02/2015)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this magnum of 2011 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (1.5L) (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aubert’s 2011 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is easily the most refined of the wines in this range of Pinots. Intensely perfumed and layered -- but not at all heavy -- the UV-SL has all its elements in perfect balance. Savory herbs, licorice, mint, plums and black cherries all come to life in the glass, but ultimately, the 2011 stands out most for its silkiness, grace and exceptional overall balance. Expressive floral notes add considerable freshness on the close. (AG) " (04/2013)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine Bizot Vosne-Romanee ((88-90BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also quite floral though here there is notably more spice influence to the pretty array of red berries and earth aromas. There is good vibrancy and detail to the medium-bodied flavors that possess relatively pliable tannins on the supple and delicious finish. A very good villages." (01/2013)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée "Clos du Château" (90JG). John Gilman: "For having just been bottled in September, the 2011 Clos du Château was really showing beautifully in mid-November, with great style and grace in evidence on both the nose and palate. The bouquet is a very classy blend of plums, raspberries, coffee, underbrush, lovely soil tones and cedar. On the palate the wine is fullish, suave and very seductive, with a sappy core of fruit, sound acids and excellent length and grip on the modestly tannic finish. Like these first few wines in the Liger-Belair lineup, the 2011 Clos du Château will drink very well from the outset, but a few years in the cellar to allow its secondary layers to emerge strikes me as the proper course for this wine. 90+ " (11/2012)
Starting Bid: $480.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine du Comte Liger Belair Vosne Romanée "La Colombière" (91VN, 90JG, 90WE). Vinous: "Typically savory, aromatic notes are delivered with superb precision and cut in the 2011 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière. Smoke, tobacco, plum, orange peel and anise are some of the many notes that inform the bright, high-toned finish. (AG)" (03/2014)
Starting Bid: $435.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine d'Eugénie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((93-95ST), 94RP, 93BH, 93DC). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good bright red with ruby tones. Precise aromas of black cherry, licorice and herbs. Spicy and penetrating on the palate; a bit strict but offers a great combination of sweetness and minerality. At once classy and powerful, finishing with a lingering element of saline minerality and firm, noble tannins that saturate the entire mouth." (01/2013)
Starting Bid: $371.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine d'Eugénie Echézeaux Grand Cru (93RP, 92BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Echezeaux Grand Cru is more closed on the nose than the Aux Brulees and demands more coaxing from the glass. But just give it a couple of minutes and it unfolds to reveal black currant fruit mingling with raspberry and Morello, a sub-layer of minerals and forest-floor scents. The palate is medium-bodied with firm backbone, quite masculine in the mouth with a pleasant austerity on the finish. This is a seriously fine Echezeaux. (NM)" (02/2014)
Starting Bid: $340.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine Ponsot Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru ((92-95BH), 94JG). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A brooding and inexpressive nose of both red and dark berry fruit evidences discreet liqueur-like nuances as well. The impressively scaled and palate coating flavors coat the mouth with dry extract and possess imposing size and weight before culminating in a firm, austere and beautifully persistent finish. This is not for the faint-hearted as it's a big Chapelle and clearly intended to be cellared for the long haul as this is also not going to drink especially well young. *Don't miss!*" (01/2013)
Starting Bid: $245.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine Bizot Vosne-Romanée "Les Jachées". Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A classic Vosne aromatic profile is redolent of an impressive array of spice elements along with notes of plum and violets. " (01/2013)
Starting Bid: $527.00
