95 points Robert Parker: "The extraordinary 2001 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge continues to remind me of ripe vintages of the DRC Richebourg or La Tache. It is 100% destemmed, whereas those wines include 100% stems, but its extraordinary floral, wild mountain flower, black cherry, raspberry, and forest floor notes are noteworthy. It boasts a deep ruby color to the rim, gorgeous aromatics, a voluptuous palate, and a magnificent, 60-second finish. It is a beauty!" (02/05) 94 points and a Highly Recommended designation from the Wine Spectator: "Dark-colored a...

93 points Wine Spectator: "Supple and harmonious, with smooth black cherry, blackberry and raspberry flavors that are delicate and elegant, turning silky and picking up a complex hint of hazelnut and spice on a long, rich finish. (JL)" (03/2004) 91 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Martinelli's bias to unabashed ripeness is fully in evidence here, and, while coming with the usual caveats about excessive heat, this rich, big-bodied bottling is immensely stuffed and never loses sight of deep and downright juicy fruit. Laced with creamy oak and trimmed with hin...

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin "Combe-du-Dessus" (90ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Red berries and minerals on the nose. Saline, tactile and chewy; rich and succulent but quite dry, with very good underlying structure. Comes across as quite different in texture today from Mortet's other village bottlings. Finishes with very good breadth and harmonious acidity. (ST)" (03/2004)

Bid on this bottle of 2001 Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Beaumonts" (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is plenty of secondary influence as well as a touch of sous-bois on the pretty and markedly spicy nose that flashes an appealing exotic hint. The vibrant, intense and beautifully well-delineated middle weight flavors brim with minerality while displaying very good depth and persistence on the still firm finale. While this attractive effort could easily be enjoyed now, there is just enough remaining structure to suggest that another 2 to 4 years of bottle age would be in order. Lovely juice." (11/2019)
Starting Bid: $177.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Domaine Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (93BH, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A gorgeously perfumed, highly complex and wonderfully spicy nose combines with hints of earth and mostly red berry fruit aromas that are beginning to display some secondary development. The broad-shouldered and solidly powerful flavors also reflect the same attractive depth as the nose with a lovely minerality and excellent definition before culminating in a long, sappy and impeccably well-balanced finish. While sufficiently mature to be enjoyable now, for my taste I would allow another 4 to 6 years of cellar time first. In sum, while there is good punch and power, this is essentially a Clos de Bèze of refinement and elegance." (07/2012)
