91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The smoked bacon-scented, medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Clos Vougeot is an outstanding, medium to full-bodied wine. Silky-textured, pure, and sultry, it is a well-focused, decadently styled, spicy blackberry, candied blueberry, and cherry-flavored offering. Its thick yet juicy layers of dense fruits coat the palate. While it is packed with super-ripe flavors, they are well-delineated. Its impressively long finish reveals loads of supple, cherry-coated tannin. This wonderful Clos Vougeot should be consumed b...

94 points John Gilman: "The 1999 Latricières-Chambertin from Jean-Louis Trapet is outstanding and quite a bit younger in profile than the completely à point 2000 vintage. The superb nose is still fairly primary, but pure and sappy, jumping from the glass in a blend of cassis, dark berries, Cuban cigar, dark soil tones, woodsmoke, a distinct touch of graphite and a fairly generous serving of toasty oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and plush at the core, with lovely density and soil signature, ripe, seamless tannins, impeccable balance and ...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Dujac Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru ((90-91RP), 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Charmes-Chambertin displays sweet red and blackberries as well as violets in its aromas. It is lush, ripe, concentrated, and has excellent focus in its medium-bodied personality. This cherry-dominated wine also displays hints of tangy raspberries and hints of new oak. It is pure, elegant, seamless, and has a long, well-delineated finish. (PR)" (08/2001)
Starting Bid: $1,305.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine René Engel Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru (95BH, 93VN, (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This has always been one of my favorite '99s and it continues to mature at a snail's pace though finally some hints of mature fruit are creeping into the brilliantly complex and spicy nose. There is excellent richness and concention to the big, rich and well-muscled flavors that are borderline robust and brimming with buckets of dry extract, all wrapped in a sappy finish that deliver flat out phenomenal length. As I wrote in 2000, this is "textbook Grands-Echézeaux" and there nothing in here that would suggest otherwise. Note that plenty of patience will still be required as this will be close to 20 years of age before it has reached its full potential. Tasted several times with similar impressions." (07/2013)
Starting Bid: $1,600.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Aux Combottes" ((89-91BH), (89-91RP), 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The ruby-colored 1999 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Combottes exhibits a sweet, perfumed, red fruit-scented nose. It has an excellent depth of red and black cherries in its medium-bodied, supple-textured personality. This wine has excellent to outstanding grip, density of fruit, and balance. Its long finish reveals copious amounts of ripe tannins that should melt away with cellaring. (PR)" (08/2001)

Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (96WE, 92BH, 92VN, 92W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "With the superlative 1999 vintage, Louis Jadot, one of the top Burgundy négociants, has been able to produce a deep, dense purple-colored wine. With firm tannins over huge black chocolate and sweet figs and huge layers of acidity, it has great shape and structure, worthy of the vintage. A big, chunky wine with enormous presence, rounded out by the wood. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (11/2002)

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Vincent Girardin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses" ((90-92ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ruby-red. Floral, red berry and mineral aromas show a lively tangy quality; real essence of Chambolle. Lovely vibrant red fruit and spicy oak flavors firmed by fresh acidity. Solidly structured but not at all hard. Finishes very long and sweetly oaky, with firm but fine tannins. (ST)" (03/2001)
