93 points Vinous: "Brilliant garnet. Fresh raspberry, cherry and baking spices on the highly fragrant nose. In a silky, energetic style, offering intense red fruit and spicecake flavors that turn deeper and pick up a smoky quality on the back half. Smooth and seamless on the impressively long, gently tannic finish, which features a sappy red berry liqueur note and resonating spiciness. Raised in one-year-old and neutral French oak barrels. (JR)" (01/2021) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Light in the glass, this is a delicious wine, starting with aromas of ...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Light rosewater, strawberry and cherry-juice aromas meet with rounded star anise and baking spice on the nose of this single-vineyard expression. There is great chalky tension to the palate and a ripping acidity, framing flavors of red fruit, orange rind and, on the finish, vanilla paste. (MK)" (10/2018)

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "From vines planted in 1910, this wine impresses on multiple levels. Aromas of dark berry, strawberry, dried thyme and turned soil are both rustic and refined. The palate is framed by fresh acidity and a delightful rocky minerality, which give depth to the cranberry, raspberry and herbal flavors. *Editors' Choice* (MK)" (11/2020) 92 points Vinous: "Deep, brilliant red. Vibrant raspberry and floral scents are complicated by suggestions of baking spices and succulent herbs. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering open-knit ...

94 points Vinous: "Glistening scarlet. Assertively perfumed red fruit liqueur, cherry, exotic spice and succulent herb aromas show superb definition and a subtle medicinal quality. Shows very good depth and velvety texture, offering sappy raspberry, medicinal cherry and candied lavender flavors that betray no rough edges. Lingers with outstanding tenacity on the finish, which features rounded tannins and resonating florality. Made from a blend of wines that are made from air-dried grapes from the 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 vintages. Note that this wine is...

Winemaker's Notes: "This Grenache was sourced from Joe Hattrup’s Elephant Mountain Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills Appellation of Yakima Valley, Washington. At harvest, we foot-stomped a small layer of fruit at the bottom of a tank and layered the remainder of the fruit on top, 100% whole cluster. The tank was then gassed and sealed for 20 days. Once opened, the grapes (mostly still fully intact) were pressed and fermentation was completed with native yeast. This wine was aged in terracotta amphora for 12 months followed by neutral oak for 5 addition...

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Made from 100% Powerline Vineyard (since 2015), the 2017 Grenache The Boy Powerline Vineyard sports a lighter ruby hue as well as Rayas-like notes of decayed flowers, kirsch liqueur, licorice, and cured meats. Seamless, medium-bodied, and beautifully polished, with fine tannins, it's a stunning, Burgundian example of this variety to enjoy over the coming 15-20 years. " (04/2020) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A resounding success, the 2017 The Boy Grenache shines true with high-toned red berry fruit expressions on the...

Of the 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (1.5L),Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Tasting Lot (OWC), including 3-bottles of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (100JD, 96VN) and 3-bottles of 2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (100JD, 100RP, 97VN). Of the 2010 Sine Qua Non "Stockholm Syndrome" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache,Jeb Dunnuck writes: "The 2010 Grenache Stockholm Syndrome is another perfect wine. This beauty is made from blend of 75% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 2% Roussanne and 1% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confession Vineyard, that spent just under 30 months in 22% new and 78% used French oak prior to bottling. It offers a huge nose of exotic red and black fruits, smoked duck, spice, and pepper that just screams Grenache! Deep purple colored, full-bodied, seamless, elegant, and just heavenly textured and long, with ultra-fine tannin, it opens up with time in the glass and is a monumental effort that has another 15-20 years of prime

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Booker "The Ripper" Paso Robles Grenache (98RP, 94VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A true gem in the vintage, the 2014 The Ripper (Grenache) is reminiscent of a top vintage of Domaine de Marcoux's Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes with its gorgeously pure bouquet of framboise, kirsch, spice box, licorice and dried flowers. Medium ruby colored and semi-opaque, this full-bodied Grenache has no hard edges, a full, layered texture and building, ripe, sweet tannin that really stretches out the finish. This is a fabulous, tour de force effort that I wish every reader could taste. It's sensational today, but should continue to shine for upwards of a decade. (JD)" (08/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Booker "The Ripper 24" Paso Robles Grenache ((94-97RP), (93-95VN)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 The Ripper 24 release is slightly more evolved, and in this case, I think the earlier bottling is the better wine. Nevertheless, this is still an awesome effort that gives up loads of sweet spice, graphite, licorice, dried flowers and cured meats to go with a full-bodied, sexy, seamless style on the palate. It should be ready to go on release and also have upward of a decade of longevity. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Booker "The Ripper" Paso Robles Grenache (96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 The Ripper (always 100% Grenache), which checks in at 13.6% alcohol, is a fabulous effort that was brought up all in neutral 500-liter French oak barrels. Loaded with notions of kirsch, dried flowers, rose petal and underbrush, it’s about as seamless and elegant as this cuvee gets, yet it’s still no lightweight and has full-bodied richness and depth. Showing plenty of fine tannin on the finish, it is hard to resist now, but should have a solid 10-12 year drink window. (JD)" (08/2014)

Of the 2017 Sine Qua Non "The Gorgeous Victim" California Grenache,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Medium garnet-purple, this young, bombastic Grenache explodes from the glass with the most incredible perfume: red roses, cinnamon stick, lilacs and crushed black cherries with chocolate box, aniseed, garrigue and dried herbs plus gentle waves of lavender, dusty soil and smoked meats. Full-bodied with an incredibly silky texture, the decadently fruited palate features amazing freshness and vibrancy, finishing with stacks of flavor layers and a provocatively savory/chewy lift coming from the use of whole cluster. Just. Magic. It is anticipated that 1225 cases a

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Sine Qua Non "Dirt Vernacular" California Grenache (100JD, 98RP, 98VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "I called the 2016 Grenache Dirt Vernacular a perfect wine last year, and it’s still straight-up heavenly stuff that tops out on my scale this year. A blend of 78% Grenache, 11.5% Mourvèdre, 7% Touriga Nacional, and the rest Petite Sirah, it comes mostly from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills yet also includes fruit from the Third Twin, Cumulus, Bien Nacido, and Molly Aida vineyards. Aged 23 months in 38% new French oak, it offers awesome notes of kirsch liqueur, blackberries, ground pepper, leafy herbs, and graphite as well as a full-bodied, powerful, yet weightless style on the palate. It’s one of those wines that offer incredible intensity and depth, yet stays weightless, seamless, and elegant. It’s a magical wine and one of the greatest Grenache releases to ever come from California." (10/2019)

Rita Hills Grenache (100RP, 100VN, 98JD) and 3-bottles of 2015 Sine Qua Non "M - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (99JD, 99RP, 98VN). Of the 2015 Sine Qua Non "E - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache ,Vinous writes: "The 2015 Grenache E, from Elaine and Manfred Krankl’s Eleven Confessions Vineyard, is stunningly beautiful. Remarkably light on its feet for such a sumptuous wine, the 2015 has so much to offer. Beautifully expressive aromatics make a strong opening impression. Dark red and purplish berry fruit, mint, sweet spice and licorice develop with air, but it is the wine’s overall feel that stands out most. At times, the E is quite powerful, while in other moments it is much more delicate. That contrast makes for an utterly captivating wine. (A

It’s already drinking nicely yet will keep for 8-10 years with no issues." (11/2018)

Of the 2016 Sine Qua Non "Pajarito del Amor - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. The numbers are telling me this is a full-bodi
