Bid on this bottle of 2003 Domaine Groffier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru ((91-93BH), 93RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Black chocolate, dark cherries, and blackberries make up the aromatic profile of the medium-bodied 2003 Bonnes Mares. This velvety-textured effort is crammed with blackberries, black cherries, cassis, and sappy red fruits. Concentrated, fleshy, and long in the finish, it reveals a long, seamless, spicy finish. (PR)" (08/2005)
Starting Bid: $165.88
Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2003 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru ((92-95BH), 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This may be the most aromatically complex wine today with noticeable wood spice that remains a background element, framing flat out gorgeous ripe Pinot fruit and deep, rich and expressive plum and earth notes of superb nuance. The flavors are classic Mazis with that unmistakable sauvage character running the length of the wine and a massive level of dry extract that renders the flavors almost thick yet there is nothing heavy or inelegant about it. This will last for 3 decades, perhaps longer and will certainly require plenty of bottle age before it's ready for prime time but this is a great Mazis of Herculean proportions." (01/2005)
Starting Bid: $550.00
Bid on this bottle of 2003 Domaine René Engel Clos Vougeot Grand Cru.
Starting Bid: $625.00
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Domaine Faiveley Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((92-95BH), (89-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Subtle oak spice and ripe plum and black raspberry aromas introduce rich, round and chiseled, muscular and very full-bodied sappy flavors that culminate in a punchy, robust and ultra powerful finish. This is a huge, indeed massive but not heavy or excessively rich wine that maintains a wonderful sense of balance. *Don't Miss*" (01/2005)
Starting Bid: $360.00
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2003 Dominique Laurent Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((93-96ST)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(80% of this wine comes from the prime Grand Maupertuis section of the vineyard and was harvested on September 6, according to Laurent) Ruby-red. Superripe, liqueur-like aromas of raspberry, meat, gunflint and roast coffee. Huge, broad and extremely deep, with the raspberry, mineral and meat flavors continuing through the wine. Finishes with extraordinary breadth, with the major tannins coating the entire mouth and dusting the front teeth. Wow! Laurent says this is 14.2% alcohol and was not acidified." (03/2005)
Starting Bid: $290.00
