1993 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Back In Stock!
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A more mineral-dominated wine, the 1993 Private Reserve offers notes of cedarwood, black cherries, black currants, damp earth, underbrush and forest floor. It is the product of a lower than normal crop, some shatter during berry set and a general reduction of fruit by nearly 30% in some vineyards. August and September alternated between cool periods and large heat spikes. This was a challenging year, but the seemingly fully mature wine has turned out very well. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1993 Niebaum-Coppola "Rubicon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This impressive effort exhibits a thick-looking, ruby/purple color, as well as herb-tinged, peppery, earthy, black currant fruit intermixed with spice and foresty, loamy scents. In the mouth, the wine is slightly rustic, with medium to full body, outstanding concentration, good spice, and moderately astringent tannin in the long finish. This very good effort is approachable, but still requires several more years of cellaring; it should keep for 15 or more years. (RP)" (08/1998)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this bottle of 1993 Ridge Vineyards"Lytton Springs" Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel (94JG, 93VN, 92RP, 91WS). John Gilman: "The 1993 Monte Bello is a fine, fine vintage of this wine, and at eight years of age it is beginning to stir. The bouquet is deep and superb, as it offers up a complex mélange of cassis, chipotle peppers, a touch of tar, cigar ash, complex soil tones and a deft framing of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and classy, with fine mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, excellent focus and outstanding grip on the very long, poised and youthful finish. A dynamite vintage, the 1993 Monte Bello is a very cool, old school 12.9 percent alcohol. 94+" (05/2011)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1993 Domaine Faiveley Chambertin-Clos des Bèze Grand Cru (92BH, 91WS). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A spicy, earthy and still quite primary nose of red and black pinot fruit introduce complex, edgy and powerful full-bodied flavors that offer impressive precision and depth on the long and wonderfully persistent finish. This will require at least 8 to 10 years to be at its best but the underlying potential is undoubtedly there." (11/2005)
Starting Bid: $360.00

Bid on this bottle of 1993 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 93VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain reveals an opaque black color, huge tannin, terrific purity, and density, a broad, heavyweight mouthfeel, and gobs of ripe tannin. It is a massive Cabernet Sauvignon that requires a decade of cellaring — at the minimum. (RP)" (12/1996)
Starting Bid: $210.00
