Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Lacking the concentration and character of the best years, this wine is, nevertheless, highly successful for the vintage. The color is medium ruby, with some brown and amber at the edges. A gentle, suave, interesting, mature bouquet, and soft, round, curranty flavors have provided pleasure since the late seventies. Yet the wine refuses to fade. Still at its peak....Last tasted, 2/88. (Bordeaux Book, 1998)" (01/1998) Wine Spectator: "Holding on very well for a '76, and delicious to boot. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1976 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92VN). Vinous: "Ineffable high-pitched aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, tobacco, cardamom, curry powder, celery seed, dried rose and loam. Then intense and penetrating, boasting terrific inner-mouth energy and strong notes of cocoa powder, earth and resiny oak throughout. Finishes firmly tannic and long, with noteworthy lift for a drought year. The yield in 1976 was an extremely low one-and-a-half tons per acre, or roughly the same as in 2015, compared to a normal three to four for Beaulieu's Rutherford Cabernet. Another seemingly ageless wine. (ST)" (04/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 1976 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru (93BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A fully mature, strikingly complex and exuberantly spicy nose of superb depth and breadth leads to rich, full, sweet, ripe but not roasted middle weight flavors that deliver fine length and a velvety finish. This is much better than one would reasonably expect from the vintage and while there is a touch of finishing tannins still in evidence, they are certainly within the realm of acceptability. However, it is the superb spice character that defines this wine and it's a classic Romanée St. Vivant in style. " (04/2013)
