Cold Hand Winery "Malus X - Feminam" Ice Cider / Eau de Vie Aged in Wine Casks, Denmark (500ml)

Feminam is a dessert wine that combines the most extreme flavours of the humble apple, heat from the roasted Eau de Vie and sweetness from the frozen apple pulp. Aroma and Elstar apples are pressed when at the peak of ripeness. The freshly-pressed pulp is then deep-frozen in a freezer room. When thawed, the thick, syrupy juice contains three times as much sugar, acid and aroma as before it was frozen. The syrup is then blended with Eau de Vie. 1967 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero
Bid on this bottle of 1967 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Both the bottle poured in January and then in June 2012 attested to a truly great Unico in this year. The 1967 is a blend of 75% Tinta Fino, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malbec, Merlot and the white grape variety, Albarino. It has superb intensity on the nose with baked black cherries, singed leather, apricot blossom, eau-de-vie and liquorice. It is vivacious and floral, unfolding with each sip. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, vivacious almost port-like fruit intensity. It is initially a little pinched on the finish, but it expands gloriously with sage, bay leaf and a touch of bitter orange. Superb. 98,500 bottles produced. Drink now-2020+. (NM)" (08/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 1864 Blandys Bual Madeira. Neal Martin writes: "Blandy’s is a brand under the Madeira Wine Company, who also stencil the bottles under Leacock, Cossart Gordon and very occasionally, Miles. There are subtle differences between them in terms of style, Blandy’s undergoing shorter fermentation and sweeter, perhaps more commercial. Cossart can be light and drier; Leacock’s richer. In this report, I thought it would be clearer to list the producer as the brand rather than the company. They have a talented winemaker in the form of Francisco Albuquerque, and in Chris Blandy, they have new blood coming on-line, a mature head on young shoulders, someone with ideas to usher both Blandy’s and Madeira itself into the 21st century."
