94-96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is the standout wine for Domaine d'Eugenie this year. It was cropped at 16 hectoliters per hectare (compared to 38 hectoliters per hectare in 2017). It easily is blessed with the finest aromatics from the domaine: red and black fruit, fine mineralité with just a hint of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, a fine bead of acidity—real personality here, with a very pure and tensile finish that lingers in the mouth. I like the way it just keeps rolling ...

2014 Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Back In Stock!
94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Though quite reserved there is a lovely freshness, indeed even elegance to the cool, pure and layered nose of earthy and spice red currant, humus and floral scents. The big, bold and muscular broad-shouldered flavors also possess plenty of mouth coating dry extract that helps to buffer the very firm tannins before terminating in a backward and austere but gorgeously long, balanced and complex finish. This distinctly old school and overtly powerful effort is once again pointless to buy unless you have the express inte...

95-97 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet application of wood does not reduce the considerable appeal of the ripe, pure and airy nose with its broad mélange of wild red berry fruit liqueur, earth, spice, violets and a hint of animale. The broad-shouldered flavors possess superb mid-palate concentration that enrobes the buried but still quite firm tannins while culminating in a beautifully balanced, muscular and explosively long finish. This is also very clearly built to age yet like the Clos St. Denis, there is so much sap that this could be dr...

2016 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Previously $400) (Previously $400)
Back In Stock!
91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A noticeably, and agreeably, floral-infused nose speaks of a pretty variety of red berries that are laced with hints of earth, spice and oak. The delicious middle weight plus flavors possess a lovely sense of underlying tension while flashing a beguiling texture that is finer than usual while delivering excellent length on the balanced finish that is less youthfully austere than usual. Another difference is that this is also a bit denser than usual as well and like the Rognets this should both age well but also be...

96 points Decanter: "Hudelot-Noëllat's 0.8ha of the Clos are made up of two parcels, both of them in the upper part of the grand cru. Intensely aromatic and sweet, this is the quintessence of Pinot Noir, with raspberry and wild strawberry fruit complemented by acidity and 40% new wood. Deliciously hedonistic. Drinking Window 2025-2030. (TA) " (10/2018) 94 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is a superb wine in the making. The bouquet is deep, sappy and properly reserved in personality, offering up a fine blend of p...

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Earthy red berry fruit aromas trimmed in a discreet touch of wood spice are laced with earth, forest floor and violet hints. The full-bodied and tautly muscled broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent power and detail on the stunningly long, mildly rustic and youthfully austere finish. This is quite serious and clearly very structured yet it stops short of being overtly old school in style; that said, this will not be an early drinker." (01/2017) 92-94 points Vinous: "(Faiveley has one parcel in the middle of ...

93 points John Gilman: "The 2017 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot is a fine bottle in the making. The estate owns two separate parcels in the Clos and the vines are all old, so the average here is seventy years of age. The wine sees fifty percent new wood and the 2017 version offers up a bright bouquet of cherries, red plums, pigeon, a lovely array of soil tones, woodsmoke, mustard seed and spicy oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely sappy at the core, with ripe tannins, fine focus and grip and a long, nascently comp...

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An overtly floral nose enjoys added breadth in the form of earthy black cherry and currant aromas that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. Like the Bonnes Mares and Chapelle, the medium weight plus flavors are seductive while displaying excellent intensity on the driving finish that flashes the hallmark austerity of a young Clos de Vougeot. This promising effort will require at least some restraint." (01/2018) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru includes 35% who...

96 points James Suckling: "Black cherries and plums with an intense, earthy note. Great depth and structure, the power married to cool freshness that gives this great vitality. Enormously long and complex finish. Try to wait until at least 2023." (02/2019) 93-95 points Vinous: "The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from a parcel that Erwan Faiveley candidly said is less consistent, at the mercy of the weather and dependent on a dry season. It has a charming, quite effervescent bouquet of raspberry and cranberry fruit infused with candied orange peel...

93-95 points Vinous: "The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a detailed, quite elegant bouquet of expressive wild strawberry, cassis and subtle violet aromas, Vosne-like in style. The mineral component becomes more palpable with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, rounded and even corpulent in the mouth, layers of lightly spiced red fruit merging with orange peel and brown spices toward the harmonious and quite persistent finish. This is a very finely crafted Clos de Vougeot from Méo-Camuzet. (NM)" (01/2019) 94 points Decanter: "T...

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Mild reduction and wood toast make for a pungent nose so be sure to aerate this if you're tempted to crack a bottle young. Otherwise there is outstanding intensity, volume and delineation to the imposingly-scaled flavors that possess a supple mid-palate that contrasts markedly with the youthfully austere and ever-so-slightly rustic finish. This too is going to need time as it's very backward" (01/2019) 92-94 points Vinous: "(most of the two-thirds of this holding that was planted in 1994 was vinified with whole clu...

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Background floral notes combine with ripe, earthy, somber and notably serious aromas that are also trimmed in discreet wood along with a hint of menthol. There is very good density to the powerful and tautly muscular flavors that manage to retain a seductive mouthfeel before culminating in an impressively long finish that is somewhat less youthfully austere than it usually is and a bit more refined as well. Very good quality here and this is recommended provided you have at least some patience." (01/2018) 93 poi...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine Yvon Clerget Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (94RP, 93DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, wafting from the glass with aromas of red plums, candied peel, exotic spices, dark chocolate and creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with a deep core, considerable extract and vibrant acids, framed by notably fine-grained tannins that are very promising for its future evolution. Clerget produced three barrels, one of which was new. (WK)" (01/2019)
Starting Bid: $400.00

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A mildly toasty and markedly floral nose speaks of spiced plum, lavender, violet and red cherry. The solidly concentrated and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract that also buffers the moderately firm tannins on the powerful and grippy finish that exudes a hint of bitter chocolate. Patience is once again strongly advised." (04/2019) K&L Notes: 92-95 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "No more than medium deep colour. The nose lacks its own personality for the moment an...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine Jean Grivot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((91-94BH), (90-93VN)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A distinctly earthy nose flashes notes of plum, dark currant, violet and discreet but not invisible wood. The rich, full-bodied and powerful big-bodied flavors terminate in a mildly edgy and austere but impressively long finish. Note that my projected range offers the benefit of the doubt that this will ultimately harmonize if allowed at least a few years of bottle age." (01/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru ((94-95JG), (91-94BH), 93WS, 92ST). John Gilman: "The 2006 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is stunning, and is clearly the best wine in the cellar this year. The bouquet is deep, very pure and refined for a young Clos Vougeot, as it jumps from the glass in a sappy blaze of black cherries, plums, blood orange, cocoa powder, impressive minerality for Clos Vougeot and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and utterly seamless, with a great core of pure fruit, superb acidity that lends precision to the focus and will keep the fruit fresh for decades to come, and a very long, complex and ripely tannic finish. This wine came in at 13.2 % alcohol and was raised in fifty percent new oak, both of which I think have contributed to it clearly outdistancing the next two wines in 2006. A great Clos Vougeot. " (11/2007)

Bid on this magnum of 2005 Nicolas Potel Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (1.5L) ((91-94BH), (92-94ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Deep ruby. A strongly reduced nose gives up little but the well-muscled flavors are big, robust and very powerful and possess the classic young Clos de Vougeot youthful austerity. This is very primary and awkward yet the quality of the raw material is clear and this should reward 10 to 15 years of cellar time." (01/2007)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Alain Hudelot-Noellat Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (94JG, 92BH, 92RP, 91ST). John Gilman: "Vincent Meunier told me that he retained ten percent of the stems in the Clos Vougeot this year, and I am not sure if this made a dramatic difference or not in the wine, but the 2008 Hudelot Clos Vougeot is flat out spectacular. The bouquet is deep, pure and brilliant, as it offers up a vibrant mélange of sappy black cherries, a touch of black raspberry, bitter chocolate, incipient notes of the game to come, a magically complex base of soil and a deft touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very complex, with a sappy core of fruit, ripe, well-integrated tannins, laser-like focus and great grip on the long and very tangy finish. This is a very classy and profound bottle of Clos Vougeot in the making. 94+" (11/2009)
