2018 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
95 points Decanter: "Jean-Nicolas made two cuvées of Clos de Vougeot in 2017, but reverted to one in 2018. Fresh, charming and refined, the result is a supple, floral Pinot Noir that's almost good to drink straight out of the barrel, with aromatic cinnamon spice, fine tannins and very well-integrated 80% new wood. Not the most structured Grand Cru perhaps, but this is very sweet and engaging. (TA)" (10/2018) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is also showing very well, exhibiting aromas of sweet wild berries...

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Soft wood and herbal tea notes combines with those of dark currant, raspberry and spice wafts. There is both good verve and detail to the nicely focused and relatively powerful flavors that display firm but not rustic tannins on the youthfully austere finale where the wood suggested by the nose reemerges." (01/2019)

90-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This medium-to-dark ruby-colored wine was outstanding. Profound aromas of deeply ripe red cherries, blueberries, and blackberries steeped in hoisin sauce are followed by a medium-to-full-bodied, beautifully ripened, and silky-textured core of black fruits, beef blood, porcini mushrooms, and hints of earth. This wine's outstanding finish reveals loads of supple tannins complemented by blackberry flavors... Philippe Engel, the fun-loving and highly-talented director of this estate, crafted superb 1996s, but what...

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is performing very well, wafting from the glass with a deep-pitched bouquet of cassis, wild berries, incense, rich soil tones and woodsmoke. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and broad-shouldered, with a deep and layered core, rich structuring tannins and ripe but succulent acids. Long and sapid, this is another excellent Clos Vougeot from Faiveley, and this cuvée seems to go from strength to strength every year. (WK)" (01/2020) 92-94 points Allen Meadows - Bu...

1999 Maison Alex Gambal Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The smoked bacon-scented, medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Clos Vougeot is an outstanding, medium to full-bodied wine. Silky-textured, pure, and sultry, it is a well-focused, decadently styled, spicy blackberry, candied blueberry, and cherry-flavored offering. Its thick yet juicy layers of dense fruits coat the palate. While it is packed with super-ripe flavors, they are well-delineated. Its impressively long finish reveals loads of supple, cherry-coated tannin. This wonderful Clos Vougeot should be consumed b...

95 points Decanter: "A beautifully perfumed Petits Vougeots with lifted red flowers, raspberries and sweet spices. A wine of great finesse, refined tannins and a supple, lingering length – the palate texture is closer to a Vosne-Romanée than a Vougeot. A small proportion of whole clusters were added during fermentation; aged in barriques (two-thirds new) for over a year. Drinking Window 2023 - 2031. (JCL)" (05/2020) 90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is noticeably ripe though the fruit profile derives more from the red side of the spectr...

95 points Decanter: "Hudelot-Noëllat's 0.8ha holding is made up of two parcels, both of them in the best bit of the Grand Cru. Aged in 40% new wood, this is a not a blockbuster style by any means, emphasising freshness, balance and harmony instead. Floral, racy and supple, it has well-integrated 40% new wood, some vanilla spice and a poised, elegant finish. Drinking Window 2026 - 2034. (TA)" (10/2019) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aromas of wild berries, spices, peonies, dark chocolate and subtle hints of grilled meats introduce the 2018...

2017 Domaine d'Eugénie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Top Pick!
94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A distinctly cool and very reserved nose only grudgingly offers up notes of red current, dark cherry and spice and freshly turned earth. There is excellent vivacity to the equally big-bodied and powerful flavors that also possess excellent mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a succulent but entirely serious youthfully austere finish that is quite firmly structured. Over the last few years the Clos de Vougeot appears to have taken over the crown as the best wine in the range and so it is again in 2017." (01/2020)...

96 points Decanter: "The Grivot family's parcel of Clos de Vougeot covers a pretty substantial 1.86ha and runs from the bottom of the Grand Cru up to the Château de la Tour on mixed soils. Matured in 30% new wood, it's a fine, elegant, textured rendition of the terroir with impressive zip and palate length, silky tannins and a hint of ageworthy noble reduction. Drinking Window 2026 - 2036. (TA)" (10/2019) 93-95 points Vinous: "The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru showed just a little reduction on the nose, but that blows away with modest swirling to reve...

97 points Decanter: "This ripples with liquorice and black chocolate and higher acidity than the last two Echezeaux and Grand-Echezeaux wines - it's hard to ignore the width and depth on display here. I love how the different personalities are staked out in these last three wines, despite being located less than 500m from each other. 50% whole cluster. This is 1.36ha from the upper part of the Clos Vougeot hillside, on clay-limestone and clay-silt soils. Drinking Window 2022 - 2040. (JA)" (02/2020) 94-96 points Vinous: "The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand C...

2019 Maison Henri Boillot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Rich aromas of cassis, plums, warm spices, dark chocolate and toasty new oak introduce Boillot's 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, a full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine that's layered and elegantly muscular, with lively acids and powdery structuring tannins. Youthfully reserved, this has turned out very nicely. (WK)" (01/2021) 92 points Decanter: "This comes from two parcels totalling less than one-third of a hectare, both in Grand Maupertuis near the top of the Clos. The grapes were completely destemmed prior t...

92-94 points Vinous: "The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is completely de-stemmed and matures in 80% new oak. It has an expressive and aromatic bouquet with pretty blueberry, raspberry and iodine aromas that burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very effervescent from the start with vivid red and black fruit infused with orange zest and light fig notes. Very fine. (NM)" (01/2019) 89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Firm reduction overshadows the fruit at present. More positively, there is excellent energy and density ...

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is very ripe, indeed to the point where the cassis, warm earth and softly floral-scented aromas exhibit hints of mocha. In much the same fashion as the Clos St. Denis there is a relatively sleek mouth feel to the solidly intense and muscular larger-scaled flavors that possess a lovely sense of harmony and excellent complexity on the lingering finish that is a bit less youthfully austere than usual." (04/2018) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Black cherry and blackberry compote flavors hold court in this fruit-fil...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, soaring from the glass with aromas of wild berries, rose petals, violets, orange rind and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, with lively acids and a powdery but elegantly refined chassis of structuring tannins, concluding with a long and resonant finish. (WK)" (01/2020) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This plays right on the edge of volatile acidity with its nose of poached plum, black raspberry and warm earth. ...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (95WS, 94BH, 91RP). Wine Spectator: "Luscious and silky, with complex flavors of black cherry, plum, sweet wood smoke, licorice and bacon. Powerful and persistent, this delivers terrific balance and a lingering aftertaste of spice and mineral notes. (BS)" (05/2012)
Starting Bid: $335.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Anne Gros Clos Vougeot Grand Cru "Le Grand Maupertuis" ((91-93BH), 93ST, 92RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A background touch of wood frames an earthy and notably complex, layered and densely fruited nose that merges into rich, full, sweet and mouth coating flavors that are exceptionally fresh and intense on the beautifully long finish. This has already eaten most of its wood and I like this for its completeness. *Don't miss!*" (01/2008)
Starting Bid: $450.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Georges Mugneret Clos-Vougeot Grand Cru (94BH, (92-93RP), 93ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is perhaps the ripest wine in the range with an unusually elegant mélange of oak trimmed red and blue pinot fruit aromas nuanced by hints of violets and the expected pungent earth that is also picked up by the rich and particularly full flavors that possess a natural sweetness, which serves to buffer the classic youthful finishing austerity of a fine Clos de Vougeot. This is really lovely and built to age." (01/2009)
Starting Bid: $1,075.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (94W&S, 93BH, 93RP, 92VN, 92WS). Wine & Spirits: "This comes from Jadot’s five-acre holding in Clos Vougeot. The vines in Jadot’s holding are 50- to 60-years-old, located from halfway to two-thirds of the way up the hill. My notes from the blind tasting read like a lecture from Jacques Lardière, the recently retired technical director at Jadot, who often spoke as if he’d been dynamized for a biodynamic prep: 'Floral buzz. The feel of limestone in the tannins. Energized. Vigorous.' Aside from the energy in the wine, there is a lovely richness, the powerful tannins seamlessly melded with dark-cherry savor. Scents of rose hips add to that floral buzz, as the wine keeps juicing up in the finish. This has the balance and drive to age for years." (10/2015)

2019 Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
95 points Decanter: "Alain Hudelot-Noëllat sold his parcel at the bottom of the Clos, but the domaine retains 0.69ha at the top of the slope in the lieux-dits Chiores and Garenne. These vines were planted in 1950 and deliver ripe, forward red and black fruit, with a great complexity of savoury, mineral and floral undertones. The texture is fresh and lively, yet there is impressive density lurking in the background. One of the top bottlings from the Clos de Vougeot. Drinking Window 2024 - 2049. (CC)" (10/2020) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Henri Boillot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (93BH, 92VN, 91RP). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained and discreetly spicy nose features primarily notes of dark berry fruit liqueur and earth scents. There is an unusually refined mouth feel to the powerful, focused and intense medium weight plus flavors that terminate in a youthfully austere finish that exhibits impeccably good balance. This is a lovely example of the appellation that should age well but thanks to the fine grain of the tannins should also be approachable after only a few years of bottle age." (04/2015)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Domaine de Montille Clos Vougeot Grand Cru ((91-93ST), (89-92BH)). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full red. Lovely high-pitched aromas of black cherry, blackberry, licorice and violet. Deep, sappy and vinous, with an enticing savory/sweet quality to the intense flavors of wild dark berries, violet and graphite. Finishes with firm-edged tannins, a very primary medicinal black cherry note, and lovely floral lift. This will need at least four or five years of bottle aging. (ST)" (02/2013)
Starting Bid: $265.00

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A more deeply pitched and much earthier and gamier array mixes notes of various red berries, floral and enough wood influence to mention. Like the Les Cras the broad-shouldered flavors possess a sleekly muscular mouth feel while delivering excellent length on the firm, serious and youthfully austere finale. I would suggest allowing this at least 7 to 8 years of cellaring first." (01/2017) 94 points Vinous: "The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has perhaps the most succinct bouquet of 16 peers tasted blind, offerin...
Price: $1,325.00

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Bouchard often does quite well with this appellation and so it is again in 2012 as there is fine complexity to the brooding nose that is less spicy than the Ech but earthier with game and underbrush nuances to the dark berry fruit aromas. There is excellent volume and focused power to the broad-shouldered, intense and concentrated flavors that possess an abundance of palate coating dry extract, all wrapped in a firm, serious, persistent and moderately austere finale. This will not be a good candidate for early con...
