2019 Middle-Earth Sauvignon Blanc Nelson (Elsewhere $19) (Elsewhere $19)
Top Pick!
93 points Sam Kim: "Bright and fresh, the delightfully fruited wine shows lifted aromas of feijoa, kiwifruit and Gala apple characters with a lovely touch of lime zest. The palate delivers juicy fruit intensity and fine texture, brilliantly structure by crisp acidity, finishing long and very tasty." (10/2019) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "In addition to pineapple rind, red apple peel and lemon verbena tones, this wine offers gentle accents of warm stone and dried riverside vegetation, too. The acidity is bright and zippy and there's lovely purity of frui...

2019 Kalinda Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc (Previously $18) (Previously $18)
Top Pick!
Just like our delicious 2018 Sauvignon Blanc, this 2019 was made by a very famous Oakville region winemaker. We can't tell you who made it or at which Oakville property it was made, but let it be known this winemaker was voted by Robert Parker (when he was active in the wine scoring scene) as the best winemaker in the world. Plenty of bright citrus nuances here with a kiss of oak. This wine is so good you will drink two bottles in a sitting. Refreshing acidity and a delightful, long finish. And the price is much lower than the property's flagship relea...

2019 Sokol Blosser "Estate" Dundee Hills Rosé of Pinot Noir (Previously $25) (Previously $25)
New!
Wine Enthusiast: "The scents and flavors of grapefruit dominate this highly acidic rosé, with bare hints of watermelon and strawberry. The palate-piercing acidity makes this a candidate for white fish with a lemon sauce, or simple grilled poultry. Try it as an aperitif on a warm spring or summer day. (PG)" (07/2020) Wine Spectator: "Crisp and easygoing, with strawberry and orange peel accents. (TF)" (09/2020)

2019 Courtney Benham Oak Knoll Napa Valley Chardonnay (Elsewhere $21+) (Elsewhere $21+)
Top Pick!
93 points James Suckling: "A fresh, linear chardonnay with sliced ripe apples, honey, and some nougat and pralines. Medium to full body, pretty acidity, and a fruity finish. Stone and creamy intensity to this. Even some peaches. Drink now." (01/2021)

Winemaker's Notes: "The wine is sourced from the Bartolomei Brothers vineyard just outside of Ukiah in Mendocino County. The vineyard is 80-years-old and the Carignane vines are head trained and nestled up against the bench of the eastern Ukiah Valley. The 2019 vintage was the second year in a row of moderate and even ripening for our Carignane. We let the grapes hang a bit later in this vintage and were able to capture more flavor intensity in the finished wine. And thanks to Carignane's great natural acidity the wine remains vibrant and fresh."

2019 Evolution (Sokol Blosser) Willamette Valley Chardonnay (Elsewhere $20) (Elsewhere $20)
Top Pick!
92 points James Suckling: "A pretty, delicious Chardonnay, offering ripe-pear and green-apple flavors with some cream and biscuit. It’s medium-to full-bodied with lovely texture and a minerally and fruity finish." K&L Notes: A fresh, vibrant, crisp Chardonnay that is very easy drinking, versatile with many foods and an excellent value. Sokol Blosser have always made great Chardonnay and this inexpensive, everyday drinker carries on that tradition at a super low price! (Ryan Woodhouse - K&L Domestic Wine Buyer)

Kokomo take the utmost care in making this wine and it is consistently one of my favorite domestic Sauv Blancs. Made from multiple picks of grapes to blend racy acidity from the earlier picks with riper flavors and textures from the later picks. The result is a beautifully balanced wine with layers of flavor and great persistence. The wine is also rested in Acacia wood barrles to give a subtle spice and floral character to the wine. Delish! This premiere winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains has put the same time and consideration into crafting their rosé as they have their acclaimed Syrahs, Pinot Noirs, and Chardonnays. Winemaker's Notes: "In our quest to produce the most delicious rosé possible, we acquired some beautiful Grenache from a vineyard near Gilroy. This Grenache makes up 47% of the final blend and all of it was picked specifically for this purpose, so was picked earlier than we would for a red wine. All of these grapes were whole cluster pressed, like we would to make a white wine...

2019 Château Saint Jacques d'Albas "La Chapelle en Rose" Minervois Rosé (Previously $17) (Previously $17)
Top Pick!
Situated to the east of the walled city of Carcassonne and in the shadow of the Montagne Noire (Black Mountains) lies Minervois. The village of Laure-Minervois is home to Château Saint Jacques d'Albas, a 90-hectare hillside estate. Some 26 hectares of the estate are planted to vines, with the rest composed of forests and creeks acting as a natural barrier to their neighbors. At the winery, a small team, led by owner Graham Nutter, crafts superb reds, whites and rosés, all of which are farmed organically. The "La Chapelle en Rose" is a blend of 50% direct...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Cotton-candy pink in hue and aroma, Mount Edward's 2019 Rose is a plump, medium-bodied wine with notes of strawberries, nectarines and mixed citrus. It's perhaps a bit too generous in feel on the palate to be bone dry, but it finishes with enough crisp acidity to make it palatable with food. (JC)" (03/2020) K&L Notes: Coming from a single block of the Muirkirk vineyard, the grapes are picked specifically to make rosé. One hundred percent Pinot Noir grapes spending 2-3 hours on the skins before being drained off, creates ...

91 points Jeb Dunnuck: "I love the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc. This beauty offers loads of bright white grapefruit, crushed citrus, and honeyed mineral notes to go with a supple, fruit-forward, nicely textured style on the palate. It's a joy to drink and is going to be versatile on the dinner table." (01/2021) K&L Notes: The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc comes from a single site in Napa Valley’s cooler-climate Oak Knoll AVA where the clay loam soils, combined with the San Pablo Bay cooling influences, are ideal for ripening Sauvignon Blanc. Lewis winemaker Josh Widam...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Winemaker Coby Parker-Garcia began exploring white Pinot Noir years ago, and this is his best vintage yet. Broad aromas of melon, nectarine and lemon blossom are fresh and crisp, while the palate is wrapped in a stony tension and lively acidity, delivering apple, pear and melon flavors. *Editors’ Choice* (MK) " (09/2020) 92 points Vinous: "Pale gold. Perfumed aromas of pear nectar, tangerine and fennel are energized by smoky mineral and ginger flourishes. Seamless and fleshy on the palate, offering lively orchard and pit...

95 points Tim Atkin Top 5 Chardonnay of the year 2020: "Given the coolness of San José - the origin of this wine - it’s no surprise that this such an impressive Chardonnay. Pale in colour, it has the concentration of vines established in 1990, stony, citrus aromas, taut, chiselled acidity and flavours of lime and pear framed by deftly handled new oak. 2020-24."

Husband and wife Ayelén and German Massera launched Escala Humana Wine in 2015. German has been making wine since 2003 while studying enology and viticulture in Mendoza and he has worked with Matias Michelini since 2016. German became interested in the history of the Uco Valley and it’s forgotten places and varietals. While the majority of the oldest vines are in Lujan and Maipu, there are a small handful of 4th and 5th generation producers in the Uco Valley who brought vines from Europe. Aye and German fell in love with two of these small vineyards wher...

Skip the Gruner Liter and give this try, it could be a new "Hause" wine. Sorry the wine is good and the name is ready for word play. A blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc (15%) It comes across like a classic no oak Chard from France; cool fruit, a hint of flint, medium bodied with a little extra spark and zip at the end from the Sauvignon blanc. Charming, delicious and all to easy to enjoy. "to share you need more than 750 ml".
