Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2017 Le Grappin Savigny-Les-Beaune Blanc. From the producer: "Le Grappin began in 2011 following Andrew’s five-year journey working for some of the world's great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay artisans in California, Central Otago, Burgundy and the Yarra Valley. Our vision for Le Grappin is to seek out special sites in the over-looked, under-appreciated reaches of Burgundy. We seek out viticulteurs who tend their vines throughout the year with exceptional care and attention, to give the grapes the best opportunity to shine. Our job is to ensure the wine reaches it's true potential; working by hand, with small lots, giving each wine as much care and attention as our viticulteurs have paid to the vines."
Starting Bid: $190.00

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Sea Smoke "Ten" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir. Winemaker notes: "Hand-harvested, clusters were sorted in the vineyard and then gently destemmed following an evening in our cold room. All ‘jack stems’ were removed on the sorting table. Musts were cold soaked in open-top fermenters for five days, and then inoculated with cultured yeasts to begin slow fermentation. Each tank was manually punched down two times per day, with a total maceration time of sixteen to twenty-eight days. Upon completion of primary fermentation and maceration, all free run wine was transferred to tank for settling, and then pressed at extremely low pressure (0.08 bars) to avoid extracting bitterness. After settling overnight both free-run and press wines were racked to barrels. Ten was bottled with no fining and no filtration."
Starting Bid: $62.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Williams Selyem Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (97WE). Wine Enthusiast: "This wine has a fresh, bubbly personality that’s complemented by complex, earthy undertones of rose and forest floor. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Criots-Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru (95JG, (92-95VN), 94BH, 94DC, 94RP). Vinous: "(These old vines, some of which were planted in the 1930s, produce very small grapes and "never a big yield," according to Fontaine): Bright lemon-yellow. The nose offers a wet stone aroma along with an element of honey. Fat and dense, even glyceral, but with surprising lemony acidity neutralizing its slight impression of sweetness. Conveys an impression of substantial alcohol but not particularly honeyed in the mouth. Finishes savory and smooth, with lovely building length. A potentially superb vintage for this bottling. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Purlieu "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard offers up a beautiful perfume of fruit cake, preserved plums, potpourri and blackberry preserves with nuances of exotic spices and fragrant earth. The full-bodied, decadently fruited palate is nicely juxtaposed by fantastic freshness and plush tannins, supporting loads of black fruit and earthy layers, finishing long and spicy. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 Aubert "Sugar Shack" Napa Valley Chardonnay (98JS, 98RP, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Chardonnay Sugar Shack is produced from Montrachet clone vines grown in Rutherford (Napa Valley). POW! It comes charging out of the glass, all guns blazing! Notes of lemon tart, lime cordial and preserved pineapples leap from the glass, followed by suggestions of chopped cashews, coriander seed, juniper and aniseed. Full-bodied, the palate has a seductively satiny texture and soft acidity, leading with bold, expressive stone fruit preserves and spicy layers, finishing very long and very decadent. (LPB)" (10/2019)

Vinous: "(from red soil in the lieu-dit Les Fairendes; one of the three sets of vines here is 100 years old, according to Fontaine): Bright, light yellow. Vibrant perfume of lemon peel and lime blossom. Dense, supple and silky, offering excellent definition to its citrus, floral and powdered stone flavors. Spreads out and mounts slowly on the echoing, rising finish. (ST)" (09/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 Aubert "UV-SL Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay ((99-100JS), 99RP, 97VN, 95WS). James Suckling: "This is really dense with extraordinary depth and power. Full-bodied and so powerful and so gorgeous. The layers of fruit and the textures are amazing." (11/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Purlieu "Teucer Vineyard" Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Teucer Vineyard slowly unfurls to reveal notes of cedar chest, blackcurrant cordial, prunes and spice cake with touches of tilled soil, tobacco leaf and wild sage. The taut, full bodied palate has firm, chewy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing with an herbal lift. (LPB) 92+" (10/2019)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 Sine Qua Non "Tectumque" White Blend (97RP, 94JD, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tectumque means “shelter” in Latin. This wine was initially going to be called “Inconnue” (“unknown” in French), but that name had already been trademarked. “Naming wines is becoming impossible,” mentioned Manfred. “Everything has already been taken. Even, 'No Name!'” This is a blend of 38% Roussanne, 31% Petit Manseng, 18% Chardonnay, 9% Viognier and 4% Muscat. The vineyard components are 52% Cumulus Estate, 19% Eleven Confessions Estate, 18% Bien Nacido Vineyard and 11% The Third Twin Estate. It spent around 20 months aging in 9% concrete eggs, 4% amphora, 9% used barrels and 78% new French oak puncheons. (LPB) 97+" (06/2019)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2017 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Maltroie" ((89-91VN), 90BH, 90JG). Vinous: "Pale yellow. Pear and white flowers on the nose. Concentrated but stony and closed on the palate, showing less fruit in the early going than the Chenevottes. Tactile, salty wine with good breadth but only moderate length and grip. Incidentally, these virused, very old (about 70 years) vines, which typically yield very small grapes, produced less than 40 hectoliters per hectare in 2017 after suffering badly from the frost in 2016, and Céline Fontaine told me that they need to be replanted soon. (ST)" (09/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Aubert "Hudson Vineyard" Carneros Chardonnay ((97-98JS), 98RP, 96VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from Hudson selection, Old Wente clone vines that over 20 years old and planted on the Napa side of Carneros, the 2017 Chardonnay Hudson features super intense notes of freshly squeezed lemon, lime zest, warm apricots and honeydew melon with hints of hay, paraffin wax and crushed nuts plus a waft of cinnamon toast. The full-bodied palate is very tightly wound with electric tension and has loads of citrusy accents coming through on the very, very long finish. (LPB)" (10/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2017 Purlieu "Beckstoffer George III Vineyard" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. Lisa Perrotti-Brown in the Wine Advocate: "'With Purlieu, I’m trying to bring something that is of Napa Valley standard, while making it a little more modern,' winemaker Julien Fayard told me as I sat to taste his 2017s. Having been blown away by his 2016s and 2015s for this label, I was very keen to see how he performed given all the challenges of 2017. “In 2017 at least 30-40% of the wines were culled due to smoke taint,” he informed me. While it was clear that, like the rest of the valley, Fayard was thrown a curve ball in 2017, in the end I think he managed it admirably." (10/2019)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 2017 Keller "Morstein" Riesling Grosses Gewächs Rheinhessen (99JS, 97JG, 95VN). James Suckling: "Hold on tight before you drink this dry Riesling! Mind-blowing concentration here, yet it weighs in at just 12.5 per cent alcohol. This gives it an extraordinary impression of weightlessness at the finish. Enormous aging potential. " (09/2018)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2017 Purlieu ''Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper features flamboyant notes of crème de cassis, blueberry pie and red currant jelly with nuances of sautéed herbs, tar and underbrush with a waft of pencil lead. Full-bodied, firmly textured and laden with muscular fruit, it has loads of earthy accents and a chewy finish. (LPB)" (10/2019)
Starting Bid: $330.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 Scarecrow "M. Étain" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 93RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot, the 2017 M. Étain is deep garnet-purple colored and prances out of the glass with exuberant baked cherries, warm mulberries, plum pudding and crème de cassis notes with touches of Provence herbs, tilled soil and pencil lead plus wafts of spice box and potpourri. Full-bodied, firm and earthy in the mouth, the palate has bags of freshness and a firm structure with loads of spicy nuances on the finish. (LPB)" (10/2019)
Starting Bid: $365.01

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 Aubert "Powder House" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay ((98-99JS), 97RP, 95VN). James Suckling: "A very flashy white with so much toasted-oak and coconut, cooked-apple and peach character. Full-bodied, dense and very rich. Lots of fruit and intensity at the end. So much lime and kiwi in the aftertaste. Gorgeous. " (11/2018)
