94 points Wine Spectator: "Precise and harmonious, offering layered raspberry and cherry flavors laced with smoky anise and spice notes, building richness toward polished tannins. *Highly Recommended* (TF)" (02/2019) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This multi-vineyard blend is svelte, supple and sophisticated. Flavors of dark cherry, plum, fig and hints of chocolate-covered raisins are well matched. The finish is smooth and lightly tangy. While some of Alexana's 2016s want further bottle age, this wine is already drinking quite nicely. (PG)" (06/2019) K&...

Voix de la Vigne is Robert Morrison's project in Willamette Valley, Oregon. "It was my desire to create a brand that is eye-candy for the Francophile—it looks like an old bottle of Burgundy, yet it is domestic and affordable. The concept of the label tells the buyer what to expect from the wine. I wanted a wine that was low alcohol, and light-medium bodied, without lacking flavor—a wine that is more suited to those who appreciate elegance and finesse. Voix de la Vigne started as a natural next step for me in the wine business. In addition to my distrib...

91 points Wine & Spirits: "Cristom’s Viognier captures maximum sunniness in a lean, cool-climate white. Bright in its stone-fruit accents, with flavors that are angular and thoroughly expressive, this wine is fully ripe without an ounce of fat. Youthful, it will improve with a little cellar time; then serve with a lobster roll." (04/2018) K&L Notes: Cristom has made its name as a producer of some of Oregon's finest pinot noir vintage after vintage. However, from its beginnings in 1993, Cristom has had viognier planted on the estate and was among the fi...

Drink now through 2024. (TF)" (11/2018) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Mimi Casteel tends this vineyard, and this young, still-unevolved wine needs more time to fully blossom. It hews closely to the emerging Lingua Franca style—not quite austere, but focused, tart and juicy, with just-ripe-enough flavors of cranberry and raspberry front and center. This should continue to im...

This cider is made from foraged apples from the western side of the Willamette Valley known to locals as the West Valley. The fruit comes from old unsprayed wild or abandoned apple trees found along creeks, rivers and old original homestead orchards. The apples are picked and held in a cooler for 3-4 weeks to concentrate slightly prior to milling. The apples are then milled, pressed and allowed to ferment naturally with ambient yeast. Toward the end of fermentation the cider is blended together and bottled with some of the apple’s natural sugar still rem...

This bottling is only in its second vintage, and comes solely from Wadenvil clones 1 and 3. It occupies just over three acres of estate vineyard and is on a divergent northeast and northwest slope. It was planted in 1997, but overcropped initially, so the winery's focus has been on rehabilitating these vines, which they feel they have finally done. From the winery: "2016 shows the forward progress that we feel is inevitable. All the fruit was fermented with 20% whole clusters to further coax aromatics, nuance and elegance from a clone already predisposed...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Gran Moraine "Upland Vineyard" Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir. Oregon Wine Country is an extraordinary place sculpted by the floods of the last ice age. It's also a series of valleys much like the ones found in Burgundy. The Yamhill Carlton AVA, located in the northern Willamette Valley, consists of ancient marine sedimentary-based soils, Mediterranean weather patterns, and neatly combed benchlands. Gran Moraine embodies the confluence of these elements which create a perfect setting to craft classic Burgundian varieties - Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Winery note: "Nose: Twigs and fall leaves, boysenberry, black cherry, must and braised meat, rose petals, pipe tobacco, steak tartar, compost, dark chocolate. Palate: Bright up front with rose hip and raspberry, tight core, pine resin, super juicy pomegranate and basil on the finish."
