We just received our 18 bottle allocation of this. I haven't tasted it, but like the 2008, this won't touch the shelf. It is one of the very few walled vineyards in Champagne to be bottled separately, and a fraction of the cost of the others, from a very serious grower. If you know it and love it, or want to know it, don't wait! (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The thickest, most unctuous, full-bodied and sexy white of the vintage is the 2014 Ermitage de l’Orée. Coming all from the sedimentary soils of the Les Murets and aged mostly in demi-muids (only 15% new), it offers a sensational perfume of caramelized peaches, campfire, honeysuckle and white flowers that literally come soaring from the glass. Possessing uncommon density, a stacked mid-palate, loads of sweet fruit and a blockbuster finish, this hedonistic effort can be drunk with incredible pleasure today, or cell...
93 points Vinous: "The 2014 Meyney is a real turn up for the books. It has a very intense, detailed bouquet with pure blackberry, raspberry, crushed stone and dried violet aromas, gaining vivacity with almost each swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, grippy and dense and yet not overpowering. The oak is very well assimilated although it clams up towards the finish. It is a wine that will require a decade in bottle but there is huge potential here. (NM)" (03/2018) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Made with consulting advice fro...
94-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A new cuvee that's all from the Powerline Vineyard in the southern part of the Walla Walla Valley, the 2014 Syrah Powerline is all from the Phelps clone, was fermented with 100% whole clusters and aged in puncheons. One of the more bloody, meaty, iron-laced and savory Syrahs in the lineup, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a thick, unctuous texture, ripe tannin and a finish that makes your heart beat a touch faster. Give bottles a few years in the cellar and enjoy over the following decade. (JD)" (...

94 points James Suckling: "A fine-tuned and polished gran reserva with lots of finesse and linear character. Medium body. Refined and beautiful." (07/2019) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There is a developed and subtle nose reminiscent of petrol (is it mineral?), hints of iodine and sweet spices. The palate is powerful and still a little tannic, as the wine was released even earlier because they skipped one vintage. Serious, austere, faithful to its character. (LG)" (10/2020) 93 points Wine Spectator: "This muscular red has a thick, dense ...

96 points James Suckling: "A big black-cherry and bitter-chocolate nose leads into a rich, concentrated palate, where the fruit easily holds sway over the powerful, dry tannins. It’s these that drive everything along right through to the assertive, slightly earthy finish; impressive long-term stuff!" (02/2017) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a powerful wine, made to age for a long time, from this estate which is performing in top gear. Complex tannins and dark fruits both make their presence felt. It has weight, ripeness and a dense structure. A gr...
