2014 Mayacamas Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Top Pick!
97 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blackcurrant, mushroom, wet earth and bark follow through to a full body, chewy tannins and a stone, berry, chili and spice aftertaste. Muscular and chunky. Very serious. Almost no new oak. This shows the Mayacamas DNA. " (01/2018) 96 points Vinous: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is savory, fresh and super-inviting, as so many wines are in this vintage. Bright red cherry, iron, smoke, mint, wild flowers and anise all lift from the glass. Medium in body, taut and wonderfully focused, the 2014 is going to reward readers...

91 points James Suckling: "15 Feb, 2017 – Quite a lot of smoky oak and lots of slightly chewy tannins. A fairly flashy wine that could do with better harmony. But there’s some attractiveness in terms of the ripe fruit and spices on the finish. Needs time to be tamed. Drink in 2019." (02/2017) 90 points Vinous: "The 2014 Saint-Paul has developed into a delicate, elegant Haut-Médoc over the last two years, but without losing its essential energy and persistence. Today, the Saint-Paul is a bit less exuberant than it was from barrel, but it has gained poli...

93 points James Suckling: "Another big, dark St.-Estèphe, but in spite of the rich body and some perceptible alcohol, there is also a cool, minty note. Slightly sweet finish in spite of all the tannins. Spice comes through at the end." (02/2017) 91-93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fruit forward, this wine shows ripe blackberries and dark plums on the palate. It exudes a richness that is contrasted by intense acidity and lifted fruit flavors. (RV)" (04/2015) 92 points Vinous: "Just as expressive from bottle as it was from barrel, the 2014 Tronquoy-Lalande ...

2014 Cousiño-Macul "Finis Terrae" Red Blend Maipo Valley
Top Pick!
92 points Vinous: "Ruby-colored with a very intense brick dust meniscus. The nose offers cassis, blackberry jam and menthol, with clear woody notes in the background, as well as sweet spices. Terse with polished tannins, a voluminous feel and long flavorsome finish, it has an oxidative character but is impeccably executed. (JH)" (03/2020) K&L Notes: 95 points Tim Atkins MW: “Still based on the Cousiño family's historic vineyards in Macul, this is an old vine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with 25% Merlot aged in 60% new wood. Subtle, complex and refined w...

2014 Somnium Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Top Pick!
91 points Wine Spectator: "Intense and lively, with a vivid core of blackberry, wild berry and raspberry flavors. This is nicely structured, ending with a long, lingering aftertaste that keeps repeating the berry themes. (JL)" (06/2017) K&L Notes: Somnium (which means dream in Latin) is a property that is owned by Nascar driver, author, and food and wine fanatic Danica Patrick. She partnered with winemaker Aaron Pott and began her journey into the wine world in 2009. The 2014 Napa Cabernet comes from estate vineyards on Howell Mountain, which were plan...

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard is just as good (as the 2013), but in a much different style. Where the 2013 is primordially and inward, the 2014 shows the more supple, sexy style of the vintage, yet doesn't lose a beat with regards to density, depth, or length. Think of these two wines as comparing a First Growth Bordeaux from 2009 versus 2010. This heavenly juice offers a liquid rock-like minerality in addition to fabulous notes of cassis, currants, scorched earth, charcoal, and flowers. Full-bodied, be...

93 points Vinous: "The delightful 2014 Meyney marks a year when winemaker Anne Le Naour and her team raised their game once more. A nose of lovely red berry fruit mixed with wilted rose petals and cedar gains intensity with aeration. The palate demonstrates much finer tannins than previous vintages, well-pitched acidity and superb precision on the classically styled finish. This is just entering its drinking plateau. Tasted at a vertical at Château Meyney. (NM)" (07/2020) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Made with consulting advice from Château Angelus’ Hubert ...

99 points James Suckling: "Spice, dried-flower, forest-floor and mushroom character. Turns to blackcurrants and blackberries. Full-bodied and focused: pinpoint precision. So much subtle blackberry and licorice character. Velvety. Superb length and consistency." (05/2017) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Far more consumer friendly is the 2014 Futo OV/SL, which is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The lusciousness of this vintage is showcased by this seamless, beautifully pure and superb...

100 points Wine Enthusiast: "From the famous Oakville site, this aged wine spends three years in 100% new French oak, one in neutral oak and an additional year in bottle. Though it has had time to evolve, it has years to go to unfurl its core of eucalyptus, mint and cedar. It shows an unmistakable crispness of red fruit, orange peel and stone, all honed by a grippy, generous palate. *Cellar Selection* (VB)" (05/2020) 97 points Decanter: "Martha’s Vineyard is one of the most famous vineyards in the US, and the 2014 vintage from this hallowed site is as ...

95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2014s, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Slope from the Hidden Ridge vineyard does not suffer in comparison with the extraordinary efforts of 2013. Still a barrel sample, its riveting richness, concentration, texture and density represent another legend in the making. Crème de cassis, licorice, blackberry, earthiness and spice are all present in this magnificent example of Cabernet Sauvignon that should age beautifully for 25-30+ years. When I first started doing my centralized tastings of the many wineri...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Vineyard is deep garnet-purple colored and displays alluring chocolate box and licorice scents over a core of crème de cassis, sandalwood, black soil and plum preserves with touches of potpourri and dried herbs. Full-bodied, concentrated and packed to the gills with ripe, rich black fruits, it has a firm, grainy frame and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy. (LPB)" (06/2018) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Similar to t...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Cult (I don’t really understand the name) is built along the same lines as its predecessors, and the blend is not terribly different (97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc). It is more similar than dissimilar to the Juliet – deep, rich, full-bodied, multi-dimensional, with stunning opulence and fabulous fruit and concentration. (RP) 96+" (12/2016)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Corona Vineyard comes from the western Oakville hillside that was once an old gravel quarry. Blue/purple with notes of earth, crushed rock, blueberry and blackberry fruit, this is a relatively tannic, backward style compared to the other Cabernets with plenty of minerality, a muscular structure, full-bodied mouthfeel and loads of blue, red and black fruits. This is impressive and potentially fabulous with a great upside, but needs 3-5 years of bottle age and should keep for up to 30 ye...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "For a wine of this quality, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Post Parade is a fabulous bargain by Napa Valley standards. There are 430 cases of this wine, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 90% new French oak (50% of which was Taransaud and 40% Ermitage). Coming from the Tench Vineyard, an Oakville vineyard made famous by Russell Bevan, this wine has an opaque purple color and a glorious nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with charcoal, camphor, a touch of toast and plenty of blac...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Their very small cuvée of 263 cases, the 100% Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 The Lark exhibits plenty of sweet chocolate, roasted espresso, blackberry, cassis and white flowers and a long, dense, multi-layered mouthfeel that builds incrementally to a fabulous finish of close to a minute. The alcohol is 14.7% and the wine was aged 20 months in 80% new French oak prior to bottling. This is a stunner and a modern-day classic from Larkmead. (RP) 96+" (10/2016) 95 points Vinous: "The 2014 The Lark is the most reticent and ...

98 points James Suckling: "Intense stone and blackberry character. A kaleidoscope of flowers and berries. Herbs, too. Blueberries, blackberries and licorice. Lead pencil, too. Medium-to full-bodied, savory and juicy with big tannins. Gorgeous. To Kalon grandeur. Yes! " (01/2017) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard, coming from clones 4 and 337 from that famous first-growth Oakville vineyard of 90 acres. Remarkably, the Robert Mondavi winery still owns eve...

95 points Vinous: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Epic is a selection of the best barrels in the cellar. Dark and racy, the 2014 packs a real punch in its black cherry, plum, chocolate, mocha and espresso flavors. There is no shortage of depth or intensity in this sumptuous, alluring Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG) 95+" (03/2018)

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 La Muse (2,800 cases) is a legendary effort. The wine offers an opaque purple color and a gorgeous nose of lead pencil shavings, blackberry, incense, Asian spice, cocoa, plum, and a touch of chocolate and barrique. On the palate, more cassis and blackberry come to the forefront. The wine is unctuous, with adequate acidity and a stunning energy underneath the massive fruit and body. (RP)" (10/2016) 97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A gorgeous effort as well, the 2014 La Muse is a Merlot-dominated cuvee blended w...

2014 Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge, Pessac-Léognan
Top Pick!
96 points James Suckling: "A big black-cherry and bitter-chocolate nose leads into a rich, concentrated palate, where the fruit easily holds sway over the powerful, dry tannins. It’s these that drive everything along right through to the assertive, slightly earthy finish; impressive long-term stuff!" (02/2017) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a powerful wine, made to age for a long time, from this estate which is performing in top gear. Complex tannins and dark fruits both make their presence felt. It has weight, ripeness and a dense structure. A gr...

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "From a Rutherford site, this 100% varietal, estate wine is aged similarly to the producer's fine Martha's Vineyard bottling, given plenty of time in new and neutral oak as well as in bottle. Beguiling spice and a warmth of red fruit provide tangy freshness around lengthy layers of salty oak, iron and baked plum. (VB)" (05/2020)

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97JS, 96DC, 96RP, 96VN, 93WS). James Suckling: "Mesmerizing aromas of flowers, bark, currants and blackberries. So perfumed. You just want to smell it. Exquisite tension and finesse with an almost Burgundian texture, yet it’s Napa in its soul with ripe fruit, stones, spices and Chinese tea leaf flavors. Savory and delicious. (JS)" (01/2018)

Bid on this bottle of 2014 MacDonald Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (97JD, (93-96VN), 94DC). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from MacDonald comes from the To Kalon Vineyard just outside of Oakville. It’s a classic 2014 possessing the purity, elegance, and sheer charm that’s the hallmark of this terrific vintage in the Valley. Crème de cassis, black raspberries, crushed flowers, and incense notes all develop with time in the glass, and while it starts out reticent and lightly textured, it gains incredible depth and length over the evening. This is Napa Valley at its most finesse-driven and elegant, and it’s going to drink beautifully for another two decades." (02/2018)
Starting Bid: $325.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Adobe Road "Beckstoffer Georges III" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard opens with pronounced cassis, blackberries and mulberries scents with hints of bay leaves, damp soil, cedar chest and unsmoked cigars. Full-bodied and packed with powerful cassis and blackberry preserves layers, it has a solid line of grainy tannins, with the freshness in the background and a long earth and cedar-laced finish. (LPB) 93+" (03/2018)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2014 Quintessa Rutherford Bordeaux Blend (97JS, 94RP, 93DC, 92WS). James Suckling: "Aromas of spearmint, sweet tobacco, cigars and blackcurrants follow through to a medium to full body, very polished and refined tannins and an intense finish. Extremely fine and long. Savory. Extremely long finish. Biodynamically grown." (01/2017)
Starting Bid: $456.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Cayuse "The Widowmaker" Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 93VN, 93WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Getting a big "Wow!" from me, the 212-case 2014 The Widowmaker sports a deep, inky color (darker than any current vintage) to go with a masculine, Chateau Latour-like bouquet of blackcurrants, graphite, tobacco leaf and cedar. Rich, full-bodied, decadent and powerful, with ripe and polished tannin, it's a sensational Bordeaux blend from one of Washington's greats! Bravo. (JD)" (06/2017)
Starting Bid: $105.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Outpost "True Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The limited-production 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon True Vineyard (475 cases) is also 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 90% new French oak. This is an amazing 2014 and one of the few perfect wines that I could find while tasting at the top addresses in Northern California. Blue/purple in color, with extraordinarily intense floral notes intermixed with blueberry, blackberry, crushed charcoal and camphor, the wine hits the palate with a spectacular display of glycerin, fruit, sweet tannin, adequate acidity, and wonderful equilibrium and purity. The finish was close to a minute. This wine is irresistible, although it is certainly capable of lasting three decades or more. Kudos to the Dotzlers and Thomas Rivers Brown for this magnificent achievement! (RP)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2014 William Hill Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91JS). James Suckling: "Dark fruit, some leather already and a hint of herbal liqueur. Tobacco and sweet blackcurrant fruit, too. Full-bodied with chewy tannins, lots of plum character and a fruit-forward finish." (12/2017)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras - LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon LPV is from clone 337 from the Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena. This shows Mission Haut-Brion-like characteristics as it has in the past, with crushed rock, wet gravel, scorched earth, blackberry and blueberry fruit. It is clearly one of my favorites of this entire tasting. It has 14.5% natural alcohol and was aged in 90% new Darnajou and 10% new Taransaud barrels. This is a killer effort. (RP)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (96VN, 95RP, 94DC). Vinous: "Dark ruby. Captivating violet lift to the aromas and flavors of cassis, kirsch, licorice and mocha. Plush and fine-grained; extremely deep in the middle palate but this extremely rich wine impresses as much for its finesse as for its sheer density and power. Finishes with wonderfully harmonious tannins and great slow-mounting length. Owing to its sheer density and baby fat, the wine is edge-free from the start, but it's likely to evolve at a snail's pace and last for decades. (ST) 96+" (08/2018)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Bevan "Ontogeny" Oakville Bordeaux Blend (96RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 700 cases of the 2014 Ontogeny Proprietary Red, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Totally dry, even though there is a wonderful sucrosity to the fruit. The wine has stunning blackberry and cassis notes, spring flowers, supple tannins and a long, multidimensional mouthfeel. It is a sexy beast for sure and best drunk over the next 15 or so years. (RP)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $280.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Meyney, St-Estèphe (OWC - 93VN, 92JD, 92JS, 91WS, 90RP) in original wood. Vinous: "The 2014 Meyney is a real turn up for the books. It has a very intense, detailed bouquet with pure blackberry, raspberry, crushed stone and dried violet aromas, gaining vivacity with almost each swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, grippy and dense and yet not overpowering. The oak is very well assimilated although it clams up towards the finish. It is a wine that will require a decade in bottle but there is huge potential here. (NM)" (03/2018)
Starting Bid: $271.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 100RP, 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The utterly perfect 2014 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon (1,500 cases) has everything one could possibly want in a Cabernet. Inky purple-colored to the rim, with a glorious nose of white flowers, crème de cassis, hints of blackberry and boysenberry, some licorice and forest floor are followed by an enormously concentrated wine with fabulous purity, a skyscraper-like mid-palate and texture, a length of nearly a minute, and stunning flavors, with flawless integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol. This is a great, great wine and certainly one of the Cabernet Sauvignons of this vintage. (RP)" (12/2016)
Starting Bid: $576.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Bevan "Tench Vineyard EE" Oakville Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 92VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Absolutely perfect is the incredible blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Cabernet Franc – the 2014 Proprietary Red EE. Only 220 cases were made of this wine that was aged in equal parts Taransaud and Darnajou. It has a compelling fragrance of spring flowers, blackberry and cassis, graphite, licorice and truffle. The wine has incredible length, density, full body and superb finish of close to 50+ seconds. It is a big, super-complex wine already, and should continue to offer off-the-charts drinking pleasure for another 15 or more years. (RP)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon - CCS" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 96JS, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another one of my favorites is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon CCS, which is clone 4 from the To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. This is aged in 100% new Darnajou and is one of the larger cuvées at 510 cases. Wonderfully sweet, velvety tannins, a big sweet nose of white flowers, blackberry and cassis along with cedar wood, charcoal and graphite are all present in this full-bodied opulent wine that also retains wonderful elegance. It finished at 14.6% alcohol and will drink beautifully now as well as over the next 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/2016)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96VN, 94WE, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is another tour de force from this estate that's reminiscent of first growth Bordeaux from a vintage like 2009. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in new barrels, it offers incredible notes of blackcurrants, graphite, lead pencil shavings and crushed rocks in a full-bodied, decadent, insanely layered and seamless style. This beauty possesses ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges and a forward, already hard to resist style... (JD)" (06/2017)
Starting Bid: $435.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Mending Wall Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93WS, 90RP). Long and sustained on the finish. (JL)" (04/2017)
Starting Bid: $135.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Promise Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Antonio Galloni writes: "Steve McPherson left behind a successful career as television executive to focus on his dream of making world-class wine. Promise emerges from a plot in Rich Frank’s Winston Hill vineyard in Rutherford. The wine spends about 30 months in new French oak barrels. There is no shortage of boutique wineries in Napa Valley, but Promise is the real deal. Steve McPherson and his team have succeeded in crafting one of the most unique Cabernet Sauvignons readers will come across."
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Gargiulo "G Major 7 Study'' Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (91VN). Vinous: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon G Major 7 Study has a bit more focus than the 2013 tasted alongside it. Black cherry, mocha, espresso, new French oak and spices meld together in the glass. Supple and fruit-forward, the 2014 drinks well now. The 2014 offers lovely depth and plenty of intensity, but it also offers a touch better overall balance than the 2013. The 2014 is mostly made from Gargiulo's Money Road Ranch property, with about 15% of the fruit coming from OVX. (AG)" (12/2016)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100JD, 100RP, 97JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot, is the 2014 The Absurd, basically a choice of their finest barrels, or as winemaker and owner Benoit Touquette says, 'The crème de la crème.' This is another perfect wine equaling their incredible 2013. Yet the 2014 is slightly more forward and showy, as many 2013s are just beginning to shut down. There are 250 cases of this majestic wine that has an opaque purple color, extraordinary nose of spring flowers, blueberry, blackberry, creosote, charcoal, toast and spice. The wine has unbelievable fruit on the attack, midpalate and finish, compelling purity, texture and a finish of close to a full minute. It is (as advertised by the winery) a 'showcase of the best of Napa Valley with the freedom of expression that results from no rules.' (RP)" (12/2016)
Starting Bid: $455.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Denner "Mother of Exiles" Paso Robles Bordeaux Blend (94JD, 94VN). Vinous: "Deep ruby. Black and blue fruit preserves, olive and woodsmoke on the deeply perfumed nose. Stains the palate with blackberry, cherry liqueur and vanilla flavors that are enlivened by juicy acidity and a jolt of smoky minerals. The mineral quality adds lift and bite to the broad, dark-fruit-dominated finish, which clings with superb energy, smooth, slow-building tannins and impressive persistence. (JR)" (11/2017)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Viader Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95JD, 94JS, 94WE, 90RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "Coming from a site on Howell Mountain and comprised of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 Viader Proprietary Red Blend is a perfumed, complex, elegant and Bordeaux-styled red that shows the charming nature of the vintage. Red and black currants, dried flowers, potpourri and underbrush nuances all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, silky, polished wine that has moderate tannin, good acidity, and a beautiful finish. It doesn't wow you with its richness and power, but it's graceful and elegant. While already accessible, it is going to cruise in the cellar given its balance and purity." (12/2017)
