2014 Louise Brison Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fermented and aged in wood, this Champagne is still young but is showing fine potential. The wine's acidity gives it a crisp texture and brings out the citrus and green-apple flavors along with the nervy edge. It will certainly age, so wait to drink until 2022. (RV)" (12/2020) K&L Notes: This Champagne was made in the most expensive way possible. The entire Brison estate is organic, and the wine is entirely barrel fermented. No detail is forgotten in making the vintage wines here, as the owner, Delphine Brulez, has a diploma...

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lemon oil and chamomile tincture create a lifted, ethereal nose, preceding richer notions of dried pear and apple. The dry palate reveals concentration and a fluidity that has something balm-like about it. The lemon freshness at the core stays arrow-like and darts across the palate in exciting fashion in a counterpoint to the rich fruit notes. The joy of Riesling is right here. (AK)" (11/2018) 91 points James Suckling: "Some early development, moving into preserved-lemon and lime aromas here with a lightly honeyed and spicy ...

2014 Château Montus Madiran
Top Pick!
94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is the latest release from this Madiran showpiece estate on steep vineyards surrounding a grand chateau. The wine is black, firm and full of tannins while allowing room for swathes of dark fruits and a bold structure. It is still in the aging process. *Ranked #51 Top 100 Cellar Selections of 2018* (RV)" (06/2018) K&L Notes: Château Montus is the crown jewel in Alain Brumont's holdings. Purchased in 1980, it was Brumont's ideal property. Steep hillsides plus the gravelly vineyards with yellow and red clay subsoils made f...

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Reserva is the wine they first produced with the idea to rescue the traditional Reserva (and also Gran Reserva) wines that were almost dying in the mid-1990s. And from the vintages I have tasted, I think this 2014, though not an easy harvest, is the one that best resembles the wines from yesteryear. Yes, they used some French oak, but they kept using American barrels. It's still young, lively and a little creamy, especially when tasted next to the Gran Reserva. It has a balsamic, ashy twist, a medium bod...

93 points James Suckling: "Another big, dark St.-Estèphe, but in spite of the rich body and some perceptible alcohol, there is also a cool, minty note. Slightly sweet finish in spite of all the tannins. Spice comes through at the end." (02/2017) 91-93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fruit forward, this wine shows ripe blackberries and dark plums on the palate. It exudes a richness that is contrasted by intense acidity and lifted fruit flavors. (RV)" (04/2015) 92 points Vinous: "Just as expressive from bottle as it was from barrel, the 2014 Tronquoy-Lalande ...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A gorgeous aroma like roses and blackberries meets richly concentrated and ripe black-fruit flavors in this full-bodied, luxuriously textured wine. While extremely ripe and bold, the wine is also smooth and voluptuous, balanced out by silky tannins that keep the mouthfeel lively and fresh sip after sip. *#10 in Top 100 Wines of 2017* (JG)" (09/2017) 91 points Wine Spectator: "A racy red, with huckleberry and smoky pepper aromas and briary black cherry and licorice flavors that finish with zesty tannins. (TF)" (11/2018) K&L...

2014 Meyney, St-Estèphe
Back In Stock!
93 points Vinous: "The 2014 Meyney is a real turn up for the books. It has a very intense, detailed bouquet with pure blackberry, raspberry, crushed stone and dried violet aromas, gaining vivacity with almost each swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, grippy and dense and yet not overpowering. The oak is very well assimilated although it clams up towards the finish. It is a wine that will require a decade in bottle but there is huge potential here. (NM)" (03/2018) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Made with consulting advice fro...

96 points Decanter: "Arana commemorates one of La Rioja Alta's historic families. The Tempranillo (95%) and Graciano (5%) are aged separately in American oak barrels for three years before blending, then for three years in bottle (two years less than the 904, and six years less than the 890). The winery's keynote to this Rioja is 'freshness'. I agree. (SJE)" (08/2020) 96 points James Suckling: "Lots of mushroom and walnut aromas with plum and leather, too. It’s full-bodied, but very soft and creamy-textured with lots of old wood, mushroom and ripe frui...

96 points James Suckling: "A rich and dense red with deep and rich flavors of spice, smoked meat, mushrooms and berries. Medium to full body. Extremely long and creamy. Wonderful fruit and balance." (07/2019) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I previewed three vintages of the village red form Lanciego in Rioja, starting with the 2014 Lanzaga. This was a great opportunity to check how the wine is evolving. They used larger barrels and are making the wine more transparent and increasing the amount of other grapes (it probably has less Tempranillo...

93 points Wine Spectator: "A gutsy style, with a frame of brick dust around a core of steeped cherry, plum and blackberry fruit. The back end pulls in dried sage, savory and tobacco notes. The finish lingers over a singed chestnut hint. Rock-solid and unabashedly old-school. (JM)" (05/2017) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "According to Laurence Féraud, the 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee was bottled in November 2016. It's already drinking well, with charming aromas of potpourri leading the way. It's medium to full-bodied, rounded out b...

92 points John Gilman: "This is the first vintage of Anderson Valley chardonnay that the winery has produced, and it is a very lovely wine that will drink well from its release. The bouquet is very floral and esthery, wafting from the glass in a lovely blend of pear, tangerine, fresh almond, white lilies, a hint of crème patissière, a nice base of soil and a very discreet framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very nicely generous on the attack, with fine focus and grip, a lovely core, bright acids and a long, complex an...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This blend of 62% Syrah, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Grenache shows relatively restrained aromas of dark chocolate, blackberry, crushed asphalt and baking spice. There is decent tension to the sour and ripe elements of the palate, with hearty flavors of black cherry, black pepper, fennel and vanilla. (MK)" (11/2017) 90 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Savant (a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache) more blackberry, peppery spice, ground herbs and spice in a ripe, sexy, nicely textured style. It's already drinking n...

Azienda COS on the extreme southeastern tip of Sicily is an estate with an undisputed mastery of the Sicilian Cerasuolo style. The "normale" Cerasuolo routinely lands high marks and praise from the leading wine press each vintage, but the Delle Fontane takes this obsession with quality a step further. The estate employs a "natural winemaking" philosophy with this wine and it's produced in exceedingly small numbers, usually on the order of less than 5,000 bottles. Composed of 40% Frappato and 60% Nero d'Avola.

At 1200 meters high, located between the Mount-Lebanon mountains, and the magnificent Bekaa Valley, Domaine de Baal has been prospering since the first plantations in 1994. In 2006, after spending many years in Saint-Emilion, Sebastien Khoury the owner and winemaker of Domaine de Baal, came back to Lebanon and started building the winery and made the first vintage of the estate. Each year the calcareous soil, the manual harvesting and the organic processes eable the domaine to create one red and one white wine that reflect the distinctiveness of the beau...

89-92 points Vinous: "Dried rose petal, crushed flowers, mint and savory herbs lift from the 2014 Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard. In this vintage, the Kirschenmann is a bit richer and deeper than normal, the result of drought conditions that led to low yields. (AG)" (10/2015) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From vines planted in 1915 in the sandy soils of Lodi, the 2014 Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard (at 15.1% alcohol) shows Southern Rhône-like kirsch liqueur, strawberries, and an elegant medium to full-bodied style with plenty of fresh red...

93 points James Suckling: "Has some of the earthy power and complexity of a grand cru. An excellent balance of white-fruit character with robust minerality and crisp acidity, driving the imposing finish. Drink or hold." (05/2018) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "The nose is rather closed but gives faint notions of waxy honeycomb. The palate is alive with lemon freshness to counter that textural waxiness that creates the backdrop of the palate. This wine has concentation and impact with its lemony power despite the relative slenderness of the body. The finis...

93 points Decanter: "The grapes for this Brunello come from Fuligni's oldest vines which typically go into the Riserva. In 2014, harvest was pushed back until mid-October in order to achieve full ripeness. The wine spent the first four to five months in small 5hl barrels to stabilise the colour, with the remaining time spent in traditional large botti. It opens with iron and savoury spice before revealing leather and tobacco leaf notes. There's definitely some flesh to pad out the structure in this well-balanced example, with smoky incense notes on the f...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Sonorous nutty notes meld with herbal spice. Tangy grapefruit zest swings into there somewhere, as does a much clearer note of green Conference pear. This is closed but smooth and will open up like a flower bud. On the palate, there is a wonderfully pliant, lemon-accented texture of real freshness." (03/2016) Jancis Robinson: "Converting to organic. Delicate aroma, a touch of spice, some dried grasses. But also lime and cedar and bright freshness. Herbal citrus dominates with then a fine peppery fluid citrus on the palate. F...

93 points John Gilman: "The 2014 vintage is the new release of chardonnay from this Napa Valley chardonnay institution, and like all Stony Hill wines, this is meant for the long haul. Today, one is only sampling a percentage of the complexity that will emerge with extended cellaring here, but all of the constituent components are in place for an outstanding vintage of Stony Hill Chard. The bouquet is pure and precise, offering up scents of pear, lemon, white soil tones, apple blossoms, hints of beeswax and a very, very discreet base of vanillin oak. On t...
