Composed of the same grapes in the same percentages as the Crianza, the Reserva is a barrel selection of wines that Angel feels can undergo longer aging in barrel and then in bottle. Aged a total of 27 months in barrels, then into concrete for more than a year, the Reserva also sees bottle aging until Angel deems it ready for release. This wine ramps up the intensity of the Crianza, with more pungent fruit as well as a real spicy and wild quality. 2010 Fourcas Hosten, Listrac

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Now at its peak, this is a rich, full-bodied wine. It has a fine blend of dark tannins and dense plum and berry fruits. Maturing well, the wine is well balanced, with a smoky edge and still with a touch of acidity. *Editor's Choice* (RV)" (09/2016) 90 points James Suckling: "Lovely aromas of flowers and berries follow through to a full body, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. 2010 Paolo Conterno "Riva del Bric" Barolo (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Barolo Riva del Bric shows a high degree of floral intensity with pressed violets and rose followed by bright red fruit and distant spice. The maceration period is relatively brief (15 days) and this has helped to fix the wine’s intensity, both in terms of its appearance and its bouquet. Vinification includes three years in botte grande. Mineral nuances and fresh acidity characterize the finish. 2010 Caol Ila 8 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) Top Pick!
2010 Caol Ila 8 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

We didn't say no to a single Caol Ila cask this year. They're too good and too reasonably priced. With the demand for Islay peat as high as it has ever been, the quality of these casks combined with sharp pricing was an absolute no brainer. This Old Particular bottling is charged from a refill hogshead and, as always, bottled with no coloring or chill filtration. The meaty quality that we see in this year's Sovereign cask of Caol Ila is tamed here and while there is decidedly some richness of peat and decadent phenol components, this is really on the gen ...Read More »

2010 Gloria, St-Julien

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Gloria is an ass-kicking, fabulous value once again from this estate, which would probably be classified if the 1855 hierarchy of the wines of the Medoc were ever done again. Abundant notes of cedar wood, fruitcake, flowers, creme de cassis and kirsch are all present in this full-bodied, opulent, dense, dark ruby/purple wine. It is slightly more restrained than the flamboyant 2009, but equal in quality. This is a juicy, well-proportioned, sensationally concentrated, super-ripe Gloria to drink over the ne ...Read More »

" (02/2013) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of the top Margaux wines, this is in top form, finely balanced and as elegant as it is powerful. 2010 Château Musar Rouge Bekaa Valley Lebanon

Jancis Robinson: "Bright ruby. Heady, rich and gamey on the nose. Very hedonistic and accessible on the nose with real density and lifted slight gaminess. An attractive singed character on top of very ripe fruit. Great balance and freshness (but not excessive acidity) on the finish. Very neat on the end. Something rather wild and Romany about this. Already accessible even if I'm sure it will develop even more complex tertiary aromas. 18/20 points (JR)" (02/2018) K&L Notes: Though Middle Eastern wine is something of a novelty in the U.S., wine is nothin ...Read More »

2010 Glen Garioch 8 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

This property in Oldmeldrum has a reasonable, albeit disputed, claim to being the oldest legal producer of whisky in Scotland. It officially dates back to 1797 and traditionally it has been a quite heavily peated malt. In the 1990s, under the ownership of Beam Suntory, after a period of closure, Glen Garioch reopened and started producing the unpeated whiskey they're known for today. Even without the peat, Glen Garioch managed to retain lots of richness and it's distinct waxy tallow and spice. This sexy little 8 year shows just a smidge of faint smoke, a ...Read More »

2010 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival)

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Mind blowing stuff, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is most likely the greatest wine ever from this estate. Still inky colored, it has a powerful, slightly backward feel in its crushed rocks, cassis, kirsch, toasted spice, licorice and dried flower-like aromas and flavors. Massively concentrated, thick, rich and textured, it delivers a serious lashing of tannin, yet nevertheless is perfectly balanced, ultra-pure, precise and long. It's the quintessential Clos des Papes and will have 30+ years of longevity. Note, yie ...Read More »

2010 Raymond Usseglio "Cuvée Impériale - Vignes Centenaires" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A candidate for perfection, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Imperiale Vignes Centenaire is clearly the greatest wine I have ever tasted from Raymond Usseglio, even eclipsing their remarkable 2007. Don’t be surprised if it merits a three-digit score in five or six years. Somewhat closed, but bursting with potential, the wine is inky/purple to the rim and boasts abundant amounts of concentrated, jammy blackberry, kirsch, licorice, lavender, forest floor, white chocolate and a hint of truffles in its magnificent ...Read More »

2010 Bodegas Muga "Prado Enea" Gran Reserva Rioja (1.5L)

99 points James Suckling: "The wonderfully silky texture with an added juiciness is what makes this wine so very special. The flawless and seamless nature to the wine is so impressive that it takes you breath away. Plenty of beautiful fruit but what mouthfeel. Drink now and forever." (01/2018) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the most classical among the wines in the portfolio, the one with the longer élevage, a little bit like the wines from yesteryear but with today's knowledge about vineyards and vinification/élevage. This has settl ...Read More »

2010 Domenico Clerico "Pajana" Barolo (Pre-Arrival, Elsewhere $85)

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Less expressive on the nose than the Briccotto, hinting at ripe, musky plum, black raspberry, menthol and tobacco. Then smooth and sweet in the mouth, but with terrific energy keeping the red fruit and tobacco flavors fresh and primary. Sweeter and more elegant in style than the 2009, but this fine-grained, firmly tannic wine really shut down in the glass. Outstanding potential here. (ST) 94+" (12/2013) 94 points Wine & Spirits: "The 7.5 acres of nebbiolo vines that Domenico Cleric ...Read More »

2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, 98WE, 97WS, 96DC, 95ST, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely amazing wine... It comes from one of the few biodynamic vineyards in Bordeaux, but you are likely to see many more, given the success that Tesseron seems to be having at all levels, both in his vineyards and in his fermentation/winemaking. An astounding, compelling wine with the classic Pauillac nose more often associated with its cross-street neighbor, Mouton-Rothschild, creme de cassis, there are also some violets and other assorted floral notes. The wine has off-the-charts massiveness and intensity but never comes across as heavy, overbearing or astringent. The freshness, laser-like precision, and full-bodied, massive richness and extract are simply remarkable to behold and experience. It is very easy, to become jaded tasting such great wines from a great vintage, but it is really a privilege to taste something as amazing as this. Unfort
