2009 Pierre Mineral Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2009 Pierre Mineral Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne

All Mesnil grand cru bargain!!!! This wine comes from all estate-grown fruit in the grand cru of Mesnil. It is a very clean wine with pure flavors and a complex, subtle nose. The texture is silky and delicate, but the finish is quite powerful. This is a very stylish wine, and a very good deal thanks to a direct buy from the producer. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)

2009 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2009 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne

98 points James Suckling: "The best Dom since 2002. A vintage with very restrained, powerful style that has been released non-sequentially after the 2009. This has a lighter stamp of highly curated, autolytic, toasty aromas than many recent releases. Instead, this delivers super fresh and intense aromas of lemons, grapefruit and blood-orange peel. Incredible freshness here. The palate has a very smoothly delivered, berry-pastry thread with light, sweet spices, stone fruit and fine citrus fruit. This really delivers. Drink now or hold." 2009 La Rioja Alta "Viña Ardanza" Reserva Rioja

96 points James Suckling: "Very fresh and vivid 2009 with berries, dark spice and hints of walnuts. Full-bodied, reserved and so held back and muscular, but you don’t feel the tannins and the strength. A great wine. Give it two or three years. Try in 2020." (08/2018) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The current vintage of one of the flagship wines from La Rioja Alta is the 2009 Viña Ardanza Reserva, the second year it has contained 20% Garnacha grapes from their estate vineyards in La Pedriza in the village of Tudelilla in Rioja Baja. (07/2014) 90-92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Firm tannins, but also ripe, sweet fruits, with a fine balance. While the wine is on the light, fresh side, it does have a good, final structure. (RV)" (04/2010) Jancis Robinson: "Rich dark plum fruit but also meaty and savoury - a wine with attitude. Smooth and pretty dense, just about fresh. Drink 2014-2023. (JH)" (10/2011) ...Read More »

2009 Bel Orme Tronquoy de Lalande, Haut-Médoc Back In Stock!
2009 Bel Orme Tronquoy de Lalande, Haut-Médoc

John Gilman: "This was the first vintage I had ever tasted of this lovely Cru Bourgeois, which lies next door to Sociando Mallet and is owned by the folks at Château Rauzan Gassies in Margaux. The cépages is sixty-five percent merlot and thirty-five percent cabernet sauvignon and the wine is never aged in more than ten percent new wood. The 2009 is really excellent, as it offers up a fresh, ripe and classy nose of cassis, black cherries, chocolate, tobacco smoke and a nice base of soil. Full to medium body, integrated tannins and a superb finish. A great wine." (08/2018) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Time flies, and the 904 for sale is already the 2009 Gran Reserva 904, as they didn't bottle it in 2008. 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically – a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. 2009 Egrot (formerly Elisabeth Goutorbe) Brut Grand Cru Champagne

This Champagne used to be called Elisabeth Goutorbe. Elisabeth changed the name over to her married name Egrot when she and her husband moved out of her parents facility in Ay, and into their own. This 100% Ay grand cru Champagne is composed of 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Chardonnay, all from the family estate. Although the Champagne has no dosage whatsoever, it is still full and rich. It has a great nose of baguette toast, cream and some of that famous Ay chalk. The finish is long, clean and very dry, but not too strict. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

2009 Louis Roederer Brut Champagne Back In Stock!
2009 Louis Roederer Brut Champagne

94 points James Suckling: "A set of more north-facing vineyards here deliver a more restrained, mineral and compact pinot noir. Nevertheless, the nose has terrific ripe-fruit expression (a warmer vintage), and the oak fermentation (30%) works well to wrap the exuberant fruit into the mix of more mineral characters. The palate has plenty of lemon and grapefruit citrus, lemon zest and honey. This has done no malolactic and really delivers on the finish. Wonderfully clean, balanced and layered. 2009 Domaine du Haut Bourg "Origine" Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieu

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Even at nine years old, this wine is only just mature. It still has citrus fruit flavors and a crisp texture. At the same time it offers rich spice, pepper and a toasty character that is cut with citrus acidity. Kept in an underground tank until bottling in December 2017, it is a great example of the aging ability of fine Muscadet. 2009 Caol Ila 8 Year Old "Signatory" K&L Exclusive Single Hogshead Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

We've made it a point this year to buy as much young Caol Ila as possible! Not only is the distillery cranking out some of the finest peated malt anywhere on Islay, but it's taste extremely delicious even at a very young age. When Signatory showed us this exceptional cask, we knew it would be a struggle to get it to the states at a price that makes sense. Luckily, the new local representation for the brand are old friends and they were able to work out a deal to bring this exceptional cask into stock at a relatively reasonable rate. (08/2018) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The red they say was born to go with tapas and sold in local restaurants is the 2009 Viña Cubillo Tinto Crianza. 2009 was a warm and ripe year, and this blend of Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha (or the masculine Ga ...Read More »

The dense and altogether serious middle weight flavors are shaped by the very firm, indeed almost chewy, tannins on the extract-rich and palate staining finish. 2009 Domaine Baud Vin Jaune Château-Chalon (620ml)

Domaine Baud's flagship wine. A powerful, deeply golden elixir with intriguing notes of hazelnuts, almonds, truffle and curry. This shows finesse and elegance in spades, thanks to the very special blue marl soil in which it is grown and careful cultivation. The wines of Château Chalon must be made in the vin jaune style, aging for six years in barrel, which requires a veil of surface yeast to develop. This style of winemaking lends the wine its hallmark characteristics.

(02/2012) 99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009's nearly 14% natural alcohol, exquisite ripeness, and incredible complex bouquet of Asian spices, fruitcake, licorice, smoke, blackberries and black currants are to die for. A blend of 84% M ...Read More »

2009 de Sales, Pomerol (1.5L)

87-90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red-ruby. Perfumed nose of sour red cherry, violet and bitter chocolate reminded me of Burgundy. Pliant and very fresh, with good fleshiness for this wine. The suave tannins are nicely supported by the wine's mid-palate stuffing. This very gentle wine suggests a well-judged extraction. This will drink well early and should be a Pomerol bargain, especially on a restaurant list." (06/2010) Wine Spectator: "Fresh and lively, this round red offers cherry and plum fruit, with herbal and licori ...Read More »

2009 Linne Calodo "Cherry Red" Paso Robles Proprietary Red

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cherry Red is another Zinfandel-based blend that shows the more feminine side of the grape in its soft, delicate expression of red raspberries, cherries, licorice and flowers. The intensity of the fruit builds nicely toward the multi-dimensional, textured finish. This is a fabulous wine from Matt Trevisan. The blend is 62% Zinfandel (Cherry Vineyard), 20% Mourvedre (Booker Vineyard) and 18% Syrah (Denner and Lock Vineyards). (AG)" (08/2011) 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ...Read More »

2009 Le Petit Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac

94 points James Suckling: "Aromas of smoke, bacon and ripe fruits, follow through to a full body, with lots of blackberries and bramble berries. Velvety tannins, with lovely intensity and balance. Gorgeous wine. Second wine of Mouton-Rothschild. 63% Cabernet Sauvignon. 22% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc." (02/2012) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Served blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. The Le Petit Mouton has improved in bottle since I tasted it last year. The 2009 has a lovely, defined, exuberant bouquet with luscious pure black fruit th ...Read More »

2009 Coufran, Haut-Médoc (1.5L)

92 points James Suckling: "The quality of the fruit and tannins are very pretty here. It’s full-bodied, with round velvety texture and a delicious finish. Very impressive. Drink or hold." (07/2014) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "90-92 Barrel sample. Firm tannins, but also ripe, sweet fruits, with a fine balance. While the wine is on the light, fresh side, it does have a good, final structure. (RV)" (08/2010) Wine Spectator: "Solid, with bitter cherry, black currant and plum skin notes framed by a chalky minerality, which hangs on the finish. (JM)" (03/2 ...Read More »

2009 Clinet, Pomerol (Pre-Arrival)

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The wine boasts an opaque black/purple color in addition to a gorgeous bouquet of truffles, charcoal, asphalt, blackberries, blueberries, and meaty, smoky notes. This dense, unctuously-textured Pomerol is built like a skyscraper with multiple layers, sweet tannins, and enormous concentration as well as length. The good news is there will be 4,000 cases of this modern day legend in the making. It should drink well for 30-35 years. While it’s hard to eclipse a 100-point wine (1989), the 2009 appears to be the fine ...Read More »
