2009 Coufran, Haut-Médoc

92 points James Suckling: "The quality of the fruit and tannins are very pretty here. It’s full-bodied, with round velvety texture and a delicious finish. Very impressive. Drink or hold." (07/2014) 90-92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Firm tannins, but also ripe, sweet fruits, with a fine balance. While the wine is on the light, fresh side, it does have a good, final structure. (RV)" (04/2010) Jancis Robinson: "Rich dark plum fruit but also meaty and savoury - a wine with attitude. Smooth and pretty dense, just about fresh. Drink 2014-2023. (JH)" (10/2011) ...

2009 La Rioja Alta "Viña Ardanza" Reserva Rioja

96 points James Suckling: "Very fresh and vivid 2009 with berries, dark spice and hints of walnuts. Full-bodied, reserved and so held back and muscular, but you don’t feel the tannins and the strength. A great wine. Give it two or three years. Try in 2020." (08/2018) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The current vintage of one of the flagship wines from La Rioja Alta is the 2009 Viña Ardanza Reserva, the second year it has contained 20% Garnacha grapes from their estate vineyards in La Pedriza in the village of Tudelilla in Rioja Baja. 2009 Baron-Fuenté "Grand Millesime" Brut Champagne

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This Aube-based producer’s latest vintage release is rich and creamy. It is young, although it is possible to find the texture and density that will allow it to age. It is in a crisp style, tight with acidity, finishing taut and mineral. Drink from 2019. (RV)" (08/2018) K&L Notes: This all estate grown gem from Baron Fuente is composed of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, and 15% Pinot Noir from around Charly-sur-Marne. 2009 Sociando-Mallet "Cuvee Jean Gautreau", Haut-Médoc

93 points Vinous: "The 2009 Cuvée Jean Gautreau is a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot picked between September 18 and October 5. The bouquet is not dissimilar to the 2005, offering well-defined blackberry, raspberry preserve and cranberry fruit, followed by incense and sandalwood. The new oak is neatly subsumed. The palate is lively and energetic on the entry, then quite spicy and saline, displaying supple but firm tannin and hints of dark chocolate toward the finish, which fans out confidently. Superb. 2009 Brane-Cantenac, Margaux

94 points Decanter: "This feels very much the epitome of Margaux in a successful vintage. Concentrated ripe black fruits display an effortless elegance, with well-rounded tannins. It has finesse, grip and intensity, and although it's not quite at the same level as the 2015, it's very good indeed. Drinking Window 2020 - 2040 (JA)" (02/2019) 94 points Vinous: "The 2009 Brane-Cantenac was picked from September 22 to October 9 with a modest 13.4° alcohol. This has long been a great Margaux. It is very delineated and yet very generous on the bravura bouquet ...

2009 Castello del Terriccio "Lupicaia" Toscana (Pre-Arrival, Previously $180)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Lupicaia (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Petit Verdot) bares the trademark aromas of eucalyptus thanks to the soaring trees that line the perimeter of the vineyard. Dried salvia, black fruit, crushed mineral and barbecue ash are part of the complex embroidery of this gorgeous wine. The 2009 vintage shows stunning elegance and balance and is not to be missed. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2035. (ML)" (08/2013) 95 points Vinous: "Beautifully resonant in the glass, the 2009 Lupicaia is a standout. ...

The delectable Dilection is based on the incredible 2009 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced was planted in 1902. 2009 Caol Ila 8 Year Old "Signatory" K&L Exclusive Islay Single Hogshead Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $90)

We've made it a point this year to buy as much young Caol Ila as possible! Not only is the distillery cranking out some of the finest peated malt anywhere on Islay, but it tastes extremely delicious even at a very young age. When Signatory showed us this exceptional cask, we knew it would be a struggle to get it to the states at a price that makes sense. Luckily, the new local representation for the brand are old friends and they were able to work out a deal to bring this exceptional cask into stock at a relatively reasonable rate. Not fleshy. *Good Value*" (09/2011) Wine Spectator: "A smoldering tobacco leaf edge runs from start to finish, lending a nice foil to the core of mulled plum and blackberry fruit. Shows a flash of pepper on the finish. (JM)" (05/2012) James Suckling: "Soft and drinkable now with plums and berries. Full body, velvety tannins and a delicious finish." In 2009, the final blend was Tempranillo with 19% Mazuelo (or Cariñena), one of the highest percentages of Mazuelo ever. The grapes are now sourced from the La Plana vineyard within the Ygay estate, one of the higher-altitude plots at 485 meters. It is hard to say that any Cornas can be opulent because the tannins are often off the charts, but this 2009 has a voluptuous opening on the palate before the tannins begin to ratchet up. Inky/purple-hued, layered and full-bodied, it offers notes of smoked meats, duck, Chinese black tea, blackberries and licorice. It is an enormously inky, thick wine that needs to be forgotten for 5-6 years and drunk over the f ...

2009 Malescot-St-Exupéry, Margaux (Pre-Arrival)

98 points James Suckling: "A wine, with intense spice and berry character, with hints of sweet tobacco. It changes all the time from flowers to fruit and wet earth. Full-bodied, with super fine tannins and ripe fruit. It's long and juicy with lovely fruit. Super long and beautiful, with fine tannins that last for minutes. Tight now, but juicy and gorgeous. Best ever from here. Try in 2020." (02/2012) 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An inky/purple color is followed by notes of Asian plum sauce, forest floor, creme de cassis, black raspberries ...

2009 La Gaffelière, St-Emilion

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An absolutely spectacular effort, the 2009 is one of the all-time great La Gaffelieres produced. One would have to go back to the 2005, 1947 or 1961 to find this level of quality from this ancient, historic vineyard planted adjacent to the walls of St.-Emilion, on the Cote Pavie. Dating back to the 1400s, this estate has been owned for over three centuries by the Malet-Roquefort family. Composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon (in the past it was two-thirds Merlot and the rest split between Cabernet Sauv ...

2009 Clos Fourtet, St-Emilion

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "After tasting it three times from bottle, I am convinced this prodigious wine is one of the greatest young Bordeaux I have ever tasted. Inky blue/purple with notes of camphor, forest floor, blackberry, cassis, sweet cherries, licorice, the wine has stunning aromatics, unctuous texture and an almost inky concentration, but without any hard edges. With considerable tannin and just enough acidity to provide definition, this wine transcends even its premier grand cru classe terroir. It is certainly the finest Clos F ...

2009 Lagrange, St-Julien (1.5L)

94 points Decanter: "This is a good Lagrange, showing well now with no need to wait too long. It perhaps doesn't have the concentration and precision of today's Lagrange, but it's a good 2009 with lots to enjoy. It has a firm cassis and blackberry purée character, with spiced herbs through the mid-palate, and firm but pliable tannins, all leading to a finish with good lift. Effortless and with St Julien elegance. (JA)" (02/2019) 94 points Vinous: "The 2009 Lagrange has a very fine bouquet, one of the more complex offering from the appellation, with bla ...

2009 Vieux-Château-Certan, Pomerol (1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

100 points James Suckling: "This is a wine that had extreme intensity of electrifying tannins and acidity, with supercharged fruit. Full-bodied, yet agile and lively. It touches every taste bud on your palate. Chocolate mousse and fruit. I am lost for words. Legendary 1950 all over again. " (02/2012) 99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009's nearly 14% natural alcohol, exquisite ripeness, and incredible complex bouquet of Asian spices, fruitcake, licorice, smoke, blackberries and black currants are to die for. A blend of 84% Merlot and the r ...
