2000 Joël Taluau Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Vieilles Vignes

Joël Taluau is a fabulous grower in St. Nicolas de Bourgueil known for making some of the purest expressions of Cabernet Franc in the Loire, unmarred by the intrusion of oak--which he hasn't used in production since 1986. He was also the first producer in the appellation to begin domaine bottling. The Vieilles Vignes, from a single plot of Cabernet Franc planted in 1934, is prized for its power, depth and grace. This flagship wine is meant to age, and the large format bottle will have helped to preserve freshness.

2000 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beginning to open magnificently, the still dense purple-colored 2000 reveals a blossoming bouquet of blackberries, cassis, graphite and pen ink. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that have resolved themselves beautifully over the last eleven years, this wine is still an adolescent, but it exhibits admirable purity, texture, mouthfeel and power combined with elegance. One of the all-time great examples of Lynch Bages, the 2000 is just beginning to drink well yet promises to last for another 20-25+ years. (RP)" (08/ ...Read More »

2000 Pierre Usseglio "Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the more upfront, downright sexy vintages for this cuvee, the 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul has been firing on all cylinders for about a decade now. Giving up terrific notes of spice-box, cured meats, garrigue and mature Grenache fruit, this beauty is full-bodied, rich, concentrated and mouth filling, with serious amounts of fruit and texture. Like the '99, it's fully mature, but should hold nicely, although there's no need to delay gratification. In 2000, this incorporated a new parcel of sa ...Read More »

2000 Clos de Sarpe, St-Emilion

Wow—medium to full-bodied, it absolutely fills the palate with sweet, rich, ripe fruit, supported by satiny tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and earthy. (LPB) " (05/2018)

(JS)" (03/2003) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the better wines (and also reasonably priced) to emerge from this property over recent years, this dense ruby/purple-colored wine shows a complex nose of earth, underbrush, creosote, creme de cassis, and dried herbs. 2000 Velier Caroni 17 Year Old "High Proof" Trinidad Rum (750ml) Top Pick!
2000 Velier Caroni 17 Year Old "High Proof" Trinidad Rum (750ml)

From a stock of 7 barrels distilled entirely in 2000 and bottled at a magnificent 110 proof, this is the first "official" Caroni to be imported into the United States. It represents some of the final production from the renowned distillery on the Caroni plain's sugar plantation. When the state owned refinery closed, the famous distillery was not far behind. In 2005, the remaining stocks were sold to La Maison & Velier. Aged entirely on the Island of Trinidad, the tropical climate resulted in 80% evaporation due to the incredible heat and humidity. 2000 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (1.5L)

96 points James Suckling: "This wine has always been soft and delicious, with an almost decadent character of strawberry tart, earth, meat and spices. It’s full and very soft, with refined tannins and a very long finish." (04/2014) 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Right from the early days of tasting in spring 2001, this was going to be one of the stars of the vintage. And a star it remains. There is big, ripe fruit, with solid, ageworthy tannins. It may not be as powerful as some of the blockbusters of the vintage, but it is certainly more opulent, less cl ...Read More »

2000 Lagrange, St-Julien

94 points John Gilman: "The 2000 vintage of Lagrange is one of the most powerfully built that I have tasted from the Suntory era, and it will take many years for this deep and classy wine to reach its apogee. I very much like the cool fruit tones of the 2000 on both the nose and palate. The bouquet is a fine, reserved blend of cassis, bell pepper, espresso, black cherries, a bit of youthful horsiness, an impressive base of soil tones, tobacco leaf and a very vague impression of new oak buried somewhere in the aromatic depths of the wine. On the palate th ...Read More »

2000 Jacopo Poli "Vintage" Barrique Grappa (750ml) (Cannot ship- in store pick up only)

The presitigous Jacopo Poli distillery, located in Schiavon outside of the city of Bassano del Grappa, is one of Italy's premier artisan distillery. While the distillery has made its name distilling ultra elegant and nuanced single varietal Grappa, it is this exceptional product that seperates them from some of Italy's other top producers. Indeed, this exceptional aged Grappa transcends the category completely. First distilled in 1989, an expression of Toni Poli's personal style as a distiller and lover of Grappa, only 9 barrique were produced each year. ...Read More »

2000 Neiman "Caldwell Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

With fruit coming from the famous Caldwell Vineyard in the Napa Valley, Drew Neiman has crafted this sensational Bordeaux-styled California red wine. Drew's fine attention to detail in is evident in the wine's manifest combination of power and grace. This is one of Napa's extremely limited "quiet" cult stars that is anything BUT quiet in the glass! Unfined and unfiltered, fermented only with wild yeasts: this is a paragon of low intervention winemaking.

2000 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot Back In Stock!
2000 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot

The 2000 Duckhorn Merlot is a blend of 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2000 harvest year came early. After two late seasons in a row, it felt odd to be crushing grapes in August. The vintage had much in common with the 1997 vintage, with an early start and a l arger-than-expected crop. The quality of the red grapes bordered on greatness, with the resulting wines showing excellent depth and fruit. This wine is well-balanced, with soft tannins and rich fruit that make it approachable now; but it will continue to develop for several years.

2000 Alban "Estate" Edna Valley Grenache

94 points Wine Spectator: "Unlike any wine I've ever had from California, and truly unique in its expression of Grenache. A tremendous effort, enormously complex, rich and flavorful, with tiers of spicy black cherry, wild berry, sour cherry, anise, game and floral aromas, turning dense and earthy, with chewy tannins. " (02/2003) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Grenache Alban Vineyard is among the finest Grenaches produced in California (along with the Sine Qua Non offerings). Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a glorious perf ...Read More »

2000 Merus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

94 points Wine Spectator: "Tremendous. Ripe, rich, deftly balanced and deeply concentrated, yet with a wonderful sense of harmony and finesse. The flavors are sharply defined, built around cassis, currant, mocha and anise, with a long, luxuriant aftertaste." (10/2003) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon (450 cases) exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet nose of charcoal, blackberry, cassis, mineral, and Asian spice characteristics. Full-bodied and rich, with well-integrated oak, a creamy texture, and rea ...Read More »

2000 Haut-Brisson, St-Emilion

According to Robert Parker: "One of Saint-Emilion's most attractive over-performers, Haut-Brisson is generally available for a realistic price. The well-made 2000 offers a deep ruby/purple color as well as sweet black currant and cassis fruit intertwined with fennel and underbrush characteristics. With good ripeness, sweet tannin, and low acidity, it will drink well between now and 2010." (04/03)

2000 Arietta "H Block Hudson" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2000 Arietta (equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc) tastes like an over-sized, phenomenal Cheval Blanc. It has blossomed beautifully since I tasted it last year. A dense purple color is followed by scents of cocoa, underbrush, chocolaty black cherry and black currant fruit, minerals, truffles, and graphite. A big, thick, chewy, tremendously long, intense, well-balanced red, I would love to taste it alongside the 2000 Cheval Blanc. It should hit its prime in 3-4 years, and last for two decades. 2000 Ridge Vineyards "Lytton Estate" Dry Creek Valley Late Harvest Zinfandel Back In Stock!
2000 Ridge Vineyards "Lytton Estate" Dry Creek Valley Late Harvest Zinfandel

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Red-ruby. Exotic, port-like aromas of roasted currant and menthol. Quite sweet in the mouth, but brisk, perfectly integrated acids give the strong flavors of strawberry, raspberry, currant and pipe tobacco a penetrating quality. Robust and very long on the aftertaste. A lovely pure expression of fruit with a snappy sugar/acid balance. (16% alcohol with 18 grams per liter of residual sugar) (ST)" (06/2002)
