Bid on this bottle of 1999 Dalla Valle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95WS, 94JD, 94RP, 94WE, 93ST). Wine Spectator: "A potent wine, dark, rich and concentrated, with a tight, intense, sharply focused beam of spicy currant, black cherry, blackberry and boysenberry fruit that unfolds gracefully, revealing extra facets of depth and complexity. (JL)" (11/2002)
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Palmer, Margaux (94RP, 93VN, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Though I have tasted many vintages of Palmer in recent months, it has been some time since I tasted the 1999 Palmer. Now at 17 years of age, it has a really quite splendid bouquet that is so fresh and vital, pure brambly red fruit, sloes and iodine. It has certainly lost some of the headiness that it showed over its first 10 years, but it is still a Palmer that likes to party. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. There is good depth here, clean and fresh with wonderful poise. This is a "correct" Palmer, self-aware that it was not born in a propitious vintage, therefore it might seem a little restrained, even conservative in character. That would ignore its precision and grace, the manner in which it gently builds to the finish. You can drink this now but I would be inclined to give it another 3-4 years. There are few better Left Bank 1999s than Palmer. Tasted September 2016. (N

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Bernard Morey Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Truffière" (92BH, 92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Refined aromas of flowers and talcum powder can be discerned in the nose of the 1999 Puligny-Montrachet La Truffiere. This medium-bodied wine reveals a gorgeously expressive personality of minerals, stones, pears, and anise. It is broad yet detailed and elegant, with outstanding depth and an exemplary finish. Projected maturity: 2003-2010." (02/2001)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine René Engel Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru (95BH, 93VN, (90-92ST)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This has always been one of my favorite '99s and it continues to mature at a snail's pace though finally some hints of mature fruit are creeping into the brilliantly complex and spicy nose. There is excellent richness and concention to the big, rich and well-muscled flavors that are borderline robust and brimming with buckets of dry extract, all wrapped in a sappy finish that deliver flat out phenomenal length. As I wrote in 2000, this is "textbook Grands-Echézeaux" and there nothing in here that would suggest otherwise. Note that plenty of patience will still be required as this will be close to 20 years of age before it has reached its full potential. Tasted several times with similar impressions." (07/2013)
Starting Bid: $1,600.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (95BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Still very deeply colored. The wood treatment, along with a touch of menthol, remains evident on the still quite youthful nose of very ripe yet fresh dark berry scents that are laced with a lovely array of earth, game, spice, leather and sauvage hints. There is fine density and excellent power to the overtly muscular big-bodied flavors that conclude in a strikingly long, robust and well-balanced finale where the only nit is a hint of warmth. Unlike several of the wines in the range where there is still an ample amount of tannin to resolve but not necessarily the underlying material to assure a successful conclusion, here it appears that everything is in place. In sum, this is still young but wonderfully promising." (05/2019)
Starting Bid: $626.35

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Aux Combottes" ((89-91BH), (89-91RP), 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The ruby-colored 1999 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Combottes exhibits a sweet, perfumed, red fruit-scented nose. It has an excellent depth of red and black cherries in its medium-bodied, supple-textured personality. This wine has excellent to outstanding grip, density of fruit, and balance. Its long finish reveals copious amounts of ripe tannins that should melt away with cellaring. (PR)" (08/2001)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Colgin "Herb Lamb Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96WE, 95RP, 93ST). Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas lean toward black cherry, chocolate and herbs, which sally forth on the palate serving up more dense fruit, licorice, coffee and beautiful toast flavors. Tannins are smooth, supple and ripe. Long, lush and decadent on the finish. " (06/2002)
Starting Bid: $386.00

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Domaine Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (96WE, 92BH, 92VN, 92W&S). Wine Enthusiast: "With the superlative 1999 vintage, Louis Jadot, one of the top Burgundy négociants, has been able to produce a deep, dense purple-colored wine. With firm tannins over huge black chocolate and sweet figs and huge layers of acidity, it has great shape and structure, worthy of the vintage. A big, chunky wine with enormous presence, rounded out by the wood. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (11/2002)

Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1999 Albert Morey Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Big, expressive and intense aromas of white flowers and very ripe chardonnay fruit lead to sappy, full-bodied and powerful flavors of only moderate complexity at this point but with plenty of underlying reserve and exceptionally good length. This is a wine that is still sorting itself out and will require time to be at its best yet the material is unquestionably excellent." (06/2003)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine Tempier "La Tourtine" Bandol . One of the crown jewels of Provence, Domaine Tempier produces world-class red, white and rosé wines from their organically farmed Bandol estate. From Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant: "When Lucie "Lulu" Tempier married Lucien Peyraud in 1936, her father gave them Domaine Tempier, an active farm that had been in the family since 1834, near Le Plan du Castellet, just outside the Mediterranean seaport village of Bandol. Tasting a pre-phylloxera bottle of Domaine Tempier Bandol (a wedding gift from his father-in-law) inspired Lucien to research the terroir of Bandol extensively. Up until that point, old vineyards planted with Mourvèdre had been systematically replanted to higher-yielding varietals. However, more research not only showed its historical roots to the area, but the grape proved to be more resistant to oxidation, producing wines with great aging potential. By 1941, with the assistance of neighboring vignerons, Lu

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96WE, 93WS, 92ST, 90RP). Wine Enthusiast: "Even at this price, most of the 400-case production is already snapped up. Nonetheless, this is great Cabernet. Incredibly plush, ultrafeminine, with all the bells and whistles of a hallmark wine. Flavors lean toward cherry, blackberry, plum, strawberry, toast, vanilla, anise, herbs, spice and chocolate. It’s all couched in velvety, smooth tannins and a finish that doesn’t stop. *Cellar Selection*" (02/2003)

Bid on this bottle of 1999 Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese AP 29 Saar. 91+ points, Jean Fisch and David Rayer in Mosel Fine Wines: "This Auslese exhibits a ripe and fragrant nose of melon, rosewater, orange blossom, whipped cream and white peach. The wine is surprisingly smooth and soft on the palate but also comparatively complex and aromatically subtle. We would not be surprised if it will gain in structure with further bottle age and hence refrain from open any bottle soon. There is huge potential here."
Starting Bid: $600.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 1999 Domaine la Bouïssiere "Font de Tonin" Gigondas. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red-ruby. Aromas of roasted red berries, earth, game, herbs and pepper, along with exotic oak notes of mocha and coffee. Musky red berry and penetrating spicy oak flavors offer lovely sweetness. Tannins are considerably sweeter than those of this estate's regular '99 bottling, which came off as green by comparison. (ST)" (01/2002)
