1995 Loch Lomond ("All Malt") 22 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Grain Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $90)

We have two amazing rarities from the reclusive Loch Lomond distillery this year. A unique facility, Loch Lomond makes every type of whisky they need for their blends in house. This means they operate a huge number of stills including multiple column stills and multiple pot stills. They make whisky in damn near every combination from heavily peated single malts to peat free malt and multiple varieties of grain whisky. This 22 year old is technically a single grain, but as grain whisky can be made from any grain, this so happens to be made from malted bar ...

1995 The Rare Armagnac Collection "Venus" (Domaine de Pouchegu) 23 Year Old K&L Exclusive Vintage Armagnac (750ml) (Previously $120)

The Rare Armagnac Collection is a new small scale bottler seeking to unearth rare and unique Armagnacs from small estates across the region that would otherwise not be available. We're extremely lucky to have stumbled upon them and this first parcel that they acquired from the famous estate in the best part of the Ténarèze. We first visited Domaine Pouchegu in 2013. There Pierre Laporte was matter of fact about what made his Armagnacs so good. Lots of care in the vines, good amount of sable fauve in the soils, highering the best distiller and a commitmen ...

1995 Caperdonich 24 Year Old "Chieftain's" K&L Exclusive Cask Strength Single 2nd Fill Sherry Hogshead Speyside Single Malt Whisky (750ml) (Pre-Arrival)

The enigmatic Caperdonich Distillery is extremely rare. Built in 1897 and named "Glen Grant #2," Caperdonich by J. & J. Grant in the town of Rothes. Only 5 short years later, the Pattison whisky crisis shuttered the gleaming new distillery. It lay dormant for 60 more years before Glenlivet rebuilt it and resumed production. The name Caperdonich, meaning "secret well," was adopted due to new regulation prohibiting multiple distilleries from sharing the same name. It was purchased again in 1977 by Seagrams, who sold it to Pernod Ricard in 2001. Pernod ulti ...

1995 Charles Heidsieck "Blanc des Millénaires" Brut Champagne

95 points Decanter: "The last batch of 1995 was disgorged in summer 2017, after spending 21 years on lees. ‘Jetted’ to revive it after disgorgement, it has a new lease of life. A refreshing young Champagne with pure chalkiness and lemon intensity. Cries out for oysters. (CG)" (07/2018) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep, pure and fresh on the fruit-intense and complex nose, the 1995 Blanc des Millenaires is still young and incredibly fresh on the palate. This is refreshingly pure, concentrated, fruity and perfectly round Champagne that reve ...

1995 Graham "Malvedos" Vintage Port

90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby. Superripe, exotic aromas of cassis and woodsmoke. Incredibly sweet and viscous on the palate; very concentrated, deep and strong in extract. A fruit bomb of a single-quinta port. Extremely long and powerful. This can't stand comparison with the great '94 Graham, but on its own it's a compelling and more easily approachable young port. (ST)" (04/1998) Wine Spectator: "Plenty of plummy, grapey aromas and flavors in this young vintage Port. Medium- to full-bodied, with medium, fine tannins ...

1995 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien

92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted wonderful in October 2000. A meaty rich ripe nose of cassis, mulberry and cherry. Full-bodied and expansive structure. Approachable with layers of strawberries and red fruits. A rich voluptuous Barton that should be ready in 2-3 yrs. Then blind in April 2005. A very attractive nose with a slight under-ripeness that lends it freshness and vitality. The palate is well-balanced with toasty new oak. But quite backward compared to others with a dense sweet, chocolate tinged finish. Quite modern in style on t ...

1995 Chateau St. Jean "Cinq Cépages" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Wine Spectator: "A bit pungent and earthy in the aroma, but well-structured, with ripe, firm, vibrant black cherry, mineral, red currant and wild berry flavors that are lively and intense, with a tight focus and a long, complex aftertaste. The wine impresses with its purity of flavors and youthfulness. Shows some tannins on the finish. (JL, Web-2005)" 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Cinq Cepages is tasting even better than it was prior to bottling. 1995 Glen Keith 21 Year Old "John Milroy" K&L Exclusive" Single Barrel Cask Strength Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) (Previously $110)

This wonderful cask of Glen Keith was selected by our friend Doug McIvor for its exceptional balance and character. The distillery in Keith has been rare in modern times due to its closure from 2000 until 2013. While it served as a partner to neighboring Strathisla as one of the component malts in the Chivas Blend, it was also the site of much experimentation and some unusual production techniques. There they developed unique yeast strains and alternative ways of peating whisky--namely the use of extremely peaty water to ferment the mash. Keith has long ...

1995 Grand Mayne, St-Emilion

Both powerful and elegant, this wine exhibits layers of richness, nicely integrated acidity and tannin, and an impressive full-bodied, long finish. This offering should be drinkable early, and keep for over a decade. (RP)" (02/1998) 90 points Wine Spectator: "In-your-face aromas of toasted oak, ripe berries and chocolate. Full-bodied, wi ...

1995 Hacienda Monasterio, Ribera del Duero

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This project, from a large estate in Ribera del Duero, has the gifted Danish winemaker, Peter Sisseck (of Pingus fame), as the winemaker. Produced from extremely low yields (15-20 hectoliters per hectare), this offering is a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. This wine is a sexy, exotic wine that could be called Spanish Pomerol. Reviewed in previous issues, they are even better from bottle than they were during their upbringing (a characteristic of many Guigal wines). The 1995 Côte Rôtie Château d'Ampuis is the stuff of legends and is every bit as compelling as readers might expect. 1995 Fleury Brut Champagne Magnum 1.5L

With acidity that may bring tears to your eyes, this is not for the faint of heart. That extreme acidity tingles in the mouth, leaving flavors of pineapple, caramel candied lime and ginger in its wake. It requires crudo or sashimi—belly tuna would be insanely great with this wine." The 1995 La Couspaude exhibits a ripe, jammy kirsch, black currant, and licorice-scented nose with plenty of smoky, pain grille notes. 1995 Flora Springs "Hillside Reserve" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Readers looking for blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon offerings should check out the 1995 and 1996 Hillside Reserve Cabernets from Flora Springs. The winery tends to give this wine 12 months aging in old oak barrels. At the conclusion of that period, the wines are moved into 100% new oak for 10 months. At that point they are racked into tank and bottled unfiltered. This is not dissimilar to how Caymus handles its Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Bid on this bottle of 1995 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan (95RP, 94JG, 92WS, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This vintage is aging at a glacial pace and the tannins are currently more significant than their counterbalancing components of fruit and glycerin. While the word “potential” seems to be the most positive descriptor for this vintage, there are some nagging doubts about whether all the tannins will melt away and the fruit will hold. As in most 1995s, the color remains a healthy dark plum/purple. One of the bigger wines of the vintage, the ripe, powerful Merlot component has buttressed the Cabernet elements, giving the wine plenty of body, tannin and La Mission’s classic asphalt, cassis, blackberry, smoky barbecue, meaty notes intermixed with a hint of hot rocks. The 1995 is still a young wine and I am beginning to wonder if this vintage overall will resemble 1975 rather than something with more charm? (RP) 95+" (08/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 95VN, 94DC, 94WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Interestingly, the first thing that came to my mind in smelling the 1995 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select was a relatively young vintage of Château Latour. Another fabulous effort, with notes of blackcurrants, graphite, a touch of vanilla, sweet tannin and a full-bodied, multidimensional mouthfeel, this vintage offers stunning aromatics of black fruits, earth, charcoal and lead pencil shavings. In addition, there is an intense, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a youthful vibrancy and vigor that are sensational. This is an amazingly young wine that’s coming up on 20 years of age and another great example of just how these best terroirs of Napa can produce incredibly long-lived Cabernet Sauvignons. It should last at least another two decades as well. Drink through 2034. (RP)" (12/2014)

Situated in the northern part of the appellation, the vineyard is located on a soil base composed primarily of limestone.
