1993 Joël Taluau Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Vieilles Vignes

Joël Taluau is a fabulous grower in St. Nicolas de Bourgueil known for making some of the purest expressions of Cabernet Franc in the Loire, which are unmarred by the intrusion of oak. He was also the first producer in the appellation to begin domaine bottling. These days, Joel makes wines with the help of his son-in-law, Thierry Foltzenlogel.

1993 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Connoisseurs Guide: " *Two Stars* Even with a slight green bean note in the nose, this wine has proven to be a solid performer over time and has developed a seamless mix of ripe cherries and vanillin oak in both nose and flavor." (10/2007) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley offers up a whiff of herbs in its tight nose, followed by chocolatey, spicy, black-cherry, and cassis flavors, an exotic, medium to full-bodied, concentrated palate, and moderate tannin in the lusty finish. It does not po ...Read More »

1993 Bruno Michel "Les Oubliées Rouge" Coteaux Champenois Rouge

This still red wine from Bruno Michel's oldest plots of Meunier has been ageing in his cellar for all these years. It truly is a forgotten wine. We only received three cases.

1993 Vineyard 29 (Grace Family) Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

1993 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ex-cellar bottle tasted blind at the Lynch Bages vertical. This has a lovely, smoky, cigar box nose inflecting the dense blackberry and briary fruit. Good definition. There is superb minerality here. The palate is full-bodied, firm tannins, blackberry, iodine, a touch of liquorice and spice. Nice cohesion towards the finish, very good concentration and focus although it needs time. Drink now-2018. Tasted September 2009. (NM)" (03/2010) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep ruby-red. Entic ...Read More »

1993 Château Pajzos Tokaji Esszencia (500ml)
Bid on this 500 ml-bottle lot of 1993 Château Pajzos Tokaji Esszencia (500ml) (99WS). Wine Spectator: "One of the world's finest dessert wines. Sensational, ultrasweet Tokay, yet with a lovely citrus underpinning that keeps it from being heavy. Like melted honey, with lime and pineapple, this is one of those marvelous gems that makes you swoon in delight. Tempting now into the 21st century. A collector's item to drink in small portions, by itself, to celebrate life. *Top 100 Wines of 1998, #3* (PM)" (12/1997)

1993 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1993 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is one of the more tannic and backward wines I have tasted from Silver Oak. Now that it has been bottled, it has closed down, displaying far less lushness and obvious concentration than it did last year. The color remains a healthy dark ruby/purple, and the nose offers earthy, toasty new oak, and sweet black fruit aromas. Tight, yet powerful and rich, this full-bodied, dense, atypically backward Cabernet Sauvignon does not possess Silver Oak's usual approachability and prec ...Read More »

1993 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1993 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasting through Robert Mondavi's portfolio continues to reinforce my impression that this winery is undeniably the spiritual and qualitative leader of that sector of the California wine industry dedicated to producing world-class wines... The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve outperformed the 1992 at the winery, revealing a concentrated, splendidly saturated dark purple color, wonderfully sweet, intense aromas of chocolate, smoke, vanilla beans, and rich blackcurrant fruit. The wine tastes more extracted than the 1 ...Read More »

1993 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Counties Red Blend Back In Stock!
1993 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Counties Red Blend

89 points Robert Parker: "The 1993 Cardinale is a stronger effort than the 1992 and 1991. It exhibits a deeper ruby/purple color, plenty of body, excellent richness and spicy new oak. It will drink well for 15-17 years. With the last four vintages, Kendall-Jackson's Cardinale has improved immensely since the days when it was a sterile-filtered, frightfully acidic, innocuous wine that symbolized many of the worst aspects of California winemaking. All that changed in the early nineties, as this wine is no longer filtered, and any acidification is done caut ...Read More »

1993 M. Chapoutier "Le Pavillon" Hermiatge Rouge (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Le Pavilion is the Hermitage of the Vintage. More austere than when I tasted it prior to bottling, it is one of the few 1993s with a sweet inner core of fruit, as well as a dense ruby/purple color, outstanding concentration and extract, and huge tannin in the finish. It is a harder style of Le Pavilion than the 1992, but it should turn out to be a 40- to 50-year wine. (RMP)" (12/1996) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Mature and drinking at point, the 1993 M. Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon shows meaty black che ...Read More »

1993 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (1.5L)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A successful wine for Lafite, this dark ruby/purple-colored 1993 is tightly-wound, medium-bodied, with a closed set of aromatics that reluctantly reveal hints of sweet blackcurrant fruit, weedy tobacco, and lead pencil scents. Polished and elegant, with Lafite's noble restraint, this is an excellent, classy, slightly austere wine. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2020." (02/1997) Wine Spectator: "Very polished and well-crafted black cherry, toast, earth and mineral flavors, all in nice proportions. Medium body, supple tannins. ...Read More »
