This still red wine from Bruno Michel's oldest plots of Meunier has been ageing in his cellar for all these years. It truly is a forgotten wine. We only received three cases.

1993 Joël Taluau Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Vieilles Vignes

Joël Taluau is a fabulous grower in St. Nicolas de Bourgueil known for making some of the purest expressions of Cabernet Franc in the Loire, which are unmarred by the intrusion of oak. He was also the first producer in the appellation to begin domaine bottling. These days, Joel makes wines with the help of his son-in-law, Thierry Foltzenlogel.

1993 Beringer "Bancroft Ranch" Howell Mountain Merlot

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Merlot Bancroft Vineyard is cut from the same cloth as the massive 1992. It is a blockbuster, thick, chocolatey, black and red fruit-scented and flavored wine with full body, gobs of glycerin and extract, and a huge finish. It should age well for two decades. (RP)" (12/1995) Wine Spectator: "Serves up a complex core of earthy cherry, currant and chocolate and frames it with a toasty oak overlay. Finishes with a burst of fruit and mineral before the tannins clamp down." (08/1996)

1993 Newton "Unfiltered" Napa Valley Merlot

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Merlot, which is bottled without fining or filtration, includes 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. It reveals a more saturated color than the 1992 Merlot, intense, black-cherry, earth, and oak aromas, rich, full-bodied, concentrated flavors, and moderate tannin. The wine will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and keep for 15 + years. (RP)" (06/1995)

1993 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Connoisseurs Guide: " *Two Stars* Even with a slight green bean note in the nose, this wine has proven to be a solid performer over time and has developed a seamless mix of ripe cherries and vanillin oak in both nose and flavor." (10/2007) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley offers up a whiff of herbs in its tight nose, followed by chocolatey, spicy, black-cherry, and cassis flavors, an exotic, medium to full-bodied, concentrated palate, and moderate tannin in the lusty finish. It does not po ...

1993 M. Chapoutier "Le Pavillon" Hermiatge Rouge(1.5L) (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1993 Le Pavilion is the Hermitage of the Vintage. More austere than when I tasted it prior to bottling, it is one of the few 1993s with a sweet inner core of fruit, as well as a dense ruby/purple color, outstanding concentration and extract, and huge tannin in the finish. It is a harder style of Le Pavilion than the 1992, but it should turn out to be a 40- to 50-year wine. (RMP)" (12/1996) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Mature and drinking at point, the 1993 M. Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon shows meaty black che ...

1993 Cardinale Napa-Sonoma Counties Red Blend

89 points Robert Parker: "The 1993 Cardinale is a stronger effort than the 1992 and 1991. It exhibits a deeper ruby/purple color, plenty of body, excellent richness and spicy new oak. It will drink well for 15-17 years. With the last four vintages, Kendall-Jackson's Cardinale has improved immensely since the days when it was a sterile-filtered, frightfully acidic, innocuous wine that symbolized many of the worst aspects of California winemaking. All that changed in the early nineties, as this wine is no longer filtered, and any acidification is done caut ...

1993 Robert Mondavi "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasting through Robert Mondavi's portfolio continues to reinforce my impression that this winery is undeniably the spiritual and qualitative leader of that sector of the California wine industry dedicated to producing world-class wines... The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve outperformed the 1992 at the winery, revealing a concentrated, splendidly saturated dark purple color, wonderfully sweet, intense aromas of chocolate, smoke, vanilla beans, and rich blackcurrant fruit. The wine tastes more extracted than the 1 ...

Like melted honey, with lime and pineapple, this is one of those marvelous gems that makes you swoon in delight. Tempting now into the 21st century. Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses" (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Bright cherry fruit that is clearly maturing and cut with plenty of spice is followed by sweet, nicely complex flavors that offer fine length. This is really quite pretty and delivers solid quality and length and while there is a bit of oak char on the nose, it is less obvious than it usually is. " (04/2006)

Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine Louis Jadot (Andre Gagey) Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Boudots". Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the Cote de Nuits, Jadot's selections from Nuits St.-Georges and the villages were of no more than average quality, but I feel the Nuits St.-Georges Les Boudots is a good wine. It offers a deep ruby color, some fatness and ripeness, and moderate tannin. (RP)" (08/1995)

The wine tastes more extracted than the 1992, with a sweeter, more expansive, glycerin-imbued mid-section and finish. Although it carries as much tannin as the 1992, the tannin is riper as well as better integrated. The 1993 is a 25-30 years wine... (RP)" (12/1995)

1993 Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
Bid on this bottle of 1993 Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (92BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Wonderfully complex and still very fresh with strong aromas of ripe earth followed by big, robust, powerful flavors of considerable depth and length. This is the Hulk dressed in velvet as it's muscular but not rustic and delivers a great drinking experience. This is still fresh and while it is no longer primary, it should hold at this level for a long time. Note: there is a tremendous amount of bottle variation in the Groffier '93s and not all bottles have been quite this good." (10/2005)

The black/purple-colored 1993 Petite Syrah Aida Vineyard (from a vineyard planted in 1911) is massively rich, with wonderfully integrated, sweet, ripe tannin, a huge, black fruit, licorice, earth, and peppery-scented nose, exceptional length, and moderately high, sweet tannin.
