1991 Chateau de Vacquié 27 Year Old Unfiltered Haut-Armagnac (750ml)

Easily one of the most picturesque properties in the Gers, Chateau Vacquie has extreme potential thanks to its special terroir and passionate proprietor. There's absolutely nothing typical about Chateau Vacquie or its owner Bruno Compagnon. While the area is not particularly renowned for great wine or brandy, this special domaine has been identified by experts as being of exceptional quality. Most notably Aubert De Villaine, a friend of Bruno's who's personally examined the domaine and declared it be one of the finest in the southwest. The gorgeous 1991 ...

1991 Dow's Vintage Port

92 points Wine Spectator: "Perfumed and gorgeous, with flowers, berry and plum. Full-bodied, very sweet and round, with lovely rich fruit and a long finish. A tiny bit of heat, but will come around nicely. Very pretty indeed. Hard not to swallow now. (JS)" (05/2005) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The firmly-structured, moderately tannic, impressively colored and concentrated 1991 Vintage Port is less precocious and more reserved than the 1992 Quinta do Bomfim Vintage Port. It may develop along the lines of the stern but powerful 1977. The wi ...

1991 Frei Joao "Poco do Lobo" Vinho Regional Beiras

A wine produced from Arinto, Bical and a few other grapes, this long-aged, traditional Portuguese white brings to mind the waxy, yellow fruited, beautifully nuanced and detailed whites of Spain's Lopez de Heredia. The cellar at Frei Joao is similarly sized and nearly as old school, though in contrast to the long barrel ageing at LdH, all the wines at Frei Joao are aged a few years in concrete tank, and then primarily given a long ageing period in bottle. This 1991 bottling shows a more chiseled, firmer quality compared to the 1995 vintage we recently sto ...

1991 Oakville Ranch Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

1991 Graham's Vintage Port

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Graham's 1991 Vintage Port gets my nod as the port of the vintage. While keeping in mind that Graham's aims for a sweeter-styled port, there is no doubting the opaque purple/black color, or the explosive nose of black fruits, licorice, spring flowers, and tar. Thick and full-bodied, with a satiny texture and a blockbuster, alcoholic finish, this is a top-notch vintage port. (RP)" (02/1995) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Lovely plum and coffee aromas open to a full-bodied palate, with sweet, decadent fruit. Velvety, ...

1991 Stags' Leap Winery Napa Valley Petite Sirah

This great estate is home to some of the earliest recognized plantings of Petite Syrah in the U.S., making the winery synonymous with this robust varietal. With age, this barmbly monster has turned a bit elegant, still with lots of mouth coating balckberry fruit and spice.

1991 Palmer, Margaux

Decanter: "Overall, I very much liked the nose of this wine, which seemed at first to show just a hint of roasted bell pepper. The April frosts of this vintage challenged many vintners but, as Duroux explained, Palmer's terroir handled that challenge very well. Small quantities of wine, but very good. It seemed to improve in the glass and displayed a real smoothness on the palate. Surprisingly good. Three stars going on four." (01/2010) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Palmer's 1991 is a noteworthy effort. The deep ruby/purple color is followed by aroma ...

1991 Montrose, St-Estèphe

Jancis Robinson: "Bright crimson. Very grown-up minerals sort of nose with lots of development. Lift and lightness on this wine with real confidence and it’s ready to drink. Perhaps not an enormous depth of fruit but nice balance and very refreshing. Quite racy. And then sinewy, dry, angular on the finish. There is real lift in this wine but the tannins are a bit dry. 17/20" (02/2011) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1991 reveals a dark, saturated color (one of the most opaque wines of the vintage), and a tight but promising nose of sweet, jammy, bl ...

1991 Sociando-Mallet, Haut-Médoc

Jancis Robinson: " Bright crimson with black highlights. Some evolution at the rim. Attractive fresh nose - really well integrated and at its peak now. A tiny, frost-shrunk vintage but very well mastered. " (09/2009)

1991 Quinta do Noval "Nacional" Vintage Port (Previously $500)

Wine Spectator: "Refined and well crafted. Dark purple, with fresh floral and grapey aromas and flavors. Medium body, medium sweetness and firm tannins. (JS)" (07/1994) K&L Notes: 93 points from Roy Hersh: "1991 Quinta do Noval Nacional - rich ruby color that is nearly opaque. It presents notes of strawberry, molasses and others mentioned root beer which I did not really get, but thought was worth noting. This Nacional displays excellent concentration and structure, with medium to full-bodied juice. It possesses young blackberry fruit with a unique bal ...

1991 M. Chapoutier "La Mordorée" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1991 M. Chapoutier "La Mordorée" Côte-Rôtie (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the same class as the great single-vineyard Côte Rôties made by Marcel Guigal (i.e., La Mouline, La Turque, and La Landonne), La Mordorée is most akin to La Mouline in its seductive, otherworldly fragrance and layers of sweet, expansive, velvety-textured fruit. There were 400 cases made of this saturated purple-colored wine. Its huge bouquet and spectacularly rich, layered personality offer an astonishing example of what low yields from a naturally farmed vineyard and an unfined, unfiltered winemaking philosophy can achieve. 1991 Dominus "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1991 Dominus "Napanook Vineyard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94JG, 94VN, 93WS). Vinous: "Healthy deep medium red. Musky plum, cherry jam, spices and chocolate on the nose, complicated by hints of leather, mocha and truffle. Utterly refined, sophisticated wine with the complex soil-driven animal and vegetable notes of a great mature Bordeaux. Distinctly wild but also wonderfully silky and seamless, this midweight wine is a clear standout from the early years of this winery. Evolving very slowly but à point right now. Finishes very subtle and long, with a firm dusting of tannins and surprising structure and grip. Classically dry, showing lovely life in the mouth and lift on the back end, but this is about as far from primary Napa Valley fruit as a Napa wine can be. (ST)" (07/2018)

1991 Ridge Vineyards "Geyserville" Sonoma County Red Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1991 Ridge Vineyards "Geyserville" Sonoma County Red Blend (93CG, 90RP). Connoisseurs Guide: "Deep ruby-red. Spicy, concentrated aromas of blackberry, black plum, cassis, mace and lead pencil. Large-scaled, generous and creamy in the mouth; very round and suave. Offers superb sweetness without being at all over the top. Finishes with substantial ripe, dusty tannins and palate-saturating length. This is beautifully balanced for early enjoyment but has the structure to develop in bottle for eight to ten years." (09/2004)

1991 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1991 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 95RP, 94ST, 91WS). Vinous: "What a thrill it is to drink Montelena’s 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that takes hold of all the sense and never lets up. Imposing and intense, the 1991 is simply riveting. The flavors are dark, intense and savory, but it is the wine’s silkiness that stands out above all else. Well-stored bottles will continue to drink beautifully for another decade-plus.
