Joël Taluau is a fabulous grower in St-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil known for making some of the purest expressions of Cabernet Franc in the Loire. All his hand harvested cuvees are based on vine age and soil composition, and the wines are fermented and aged in stainless steel with a light fining and no filtration before bottling.

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium brick colored, the 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour gives up scents of prunes, dried blueberries, tobacco and tapenade with touches of mossy bark, bay leaves and dusty soil. Light to medium-bodied, delicately styled and with racy freshness on the savory palate, it has a nice, long earth-laced finish. (LPB)" (05/2019) 91 points Vinous: "Healthy dark red with little sign of amber at the rim. Aromas of cassis, dark cherry, cedar and black olive convey an impression of medicinal res...

A rare single cask of Highland Park over 30 years of age. Mr. Murray rates this at the top of the pile at 96.5 points. He says, "Nose: Pretty near perfect HP for its age, and one of the best examples of the distillery of that era I have nosed for a very long time. Slightly above average peat for a HP, which works perfectly in its favour. The usual heather honey has been skewed slightly by the heady mix of tannins and peat. The saltiness is profound, the oak a rich, spicy backbone. The sweetness is subtle and still honeyed, but more now a blend of Manuka ...

90 points Wine Spectator: "This has evolved into a supple, harmonious, complex wine, with ripe, well-focused plum, currant, black cherry and spice notes. Smooth tannins. Elegant aftertaste, where the flavors linger.--1987 California Cabernet horizontal. " (12/1997)

Bid on this bottle of 1987 Margaux, Margaux. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1987 Margaux exhibits a much more herbal note than one normally finds, but there is good richness, as well as a solid texture, suggesting concentration and depth. The wine is a bit narrow and compact in the finish, which leads me to believe that it will continue to evolve and open up. (RP)" (01/1998)

Bid on this bottle of 1987 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac. We love these so-called "off vintages" from the classic producers because you get much more bang for your buck.
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this bottle of 1987 Marchesi di Barolo Barolo.
Starting Bid: $40.00

Bid on this 3L-bottle lot of 1987 Clos Du Bois Sonoma County Merlot (3L). Wine Spectator: "Offers wonderful aromas and plenty of ripe plum, currant, smoke and spice flavors that are rich yet elegant and intense without being weighty. The crisp acidity carries the flavors on the finish. Has just the right amount of tannin." (04/1990)
Starting Bid: $57.13

Bid on this bottle of 1987 Serafin Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes (91WS). Wine Spectator: "Has the concentration, structure and balance to age nicely, balancing sweet oak with anise, spice and berry aromas and flavors. Firmly tannic, but the flavors seem to float as they persist on the finish." (03/1990)
Starting Bid: $75.00
