1976 Lascombes, Margaux

Clive Coates: "Medium full mature colour. Smoky nose, a bit dry, doesn't seem to have a lot of fruit. Better on the palate. Medium to medium-full. Reasonably fresh and fruity and not too astringent. This has neither a great deal of depth or class, nor complexity. A touch of cooked fruit about it. Yet pleasant and still quite vigorous." (Grand Vins 1995)

1976 Joseph Drouhin Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru "Les Saint Georges" (bin soiled label, past signs of seepage)

Antonio Galloni provides the following snapshot of Domaine Joseph Drouhin: "Drouhin farms 75 hectares of vineyards according to biodynamic principles. Maceration and fermentation lasts about three weeks. The wines are then racked into oak in a cold part of the cellar to slow down the malos...The estate leaves the wines on their lees for several months with one racking, or two if needed, prior to being assembled for bottling. New oak ranges from 25% for the entry-level wines to 50-65% for the grand crus."

1976 Jules Regnier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "La Combe aux Moines"
Bid on this bottle of 1976 Jules Regnier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "La Combe aux Moines". Jasper Morris, MW, writes of the 1976 vintage, "A controversial vintage in Burgundy...produced superlative bottles with great staying power... A '50 Years On' tasting in 2026 could prove to be fascinating." (Inside Burgundy, 2011) La Combe aux Moines is part of the outstanding slope of premier cru vineyards in Gevrey called the "Côte St-Jacques" for its most famous parcel, Clos St-Jacques. The steep slope covers sections of both white marl (at the top of the vineyard) and reddish, iron-rich soil lower down. The vineyard produces powerful wines, sometimes brutishly tannic in youth, but its also one of the most solidly ageworthy premier cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits.
