1975 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac

91 points Decanter: "Jean-Michel Cazes’ third vintage, and his records of the harvest note excellent weather conditions almost every day up in Pauillac. Harvest of Merlot began at Lynch Bages on September 25 (it had been expected to start on the 29th until the rains fell) and lasted until October 12th ( a Sunday when Cazes described the fermentations as going ‘very very well’). Only one or two vats needed chaptilisation because natural sugar levels were so high. On the nose, a touch of band aid suggests brett, but this soon clears and the wine is full of ...

1975 Palmer, Margaux

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1975 Palmer has consistently been one of the top wines of the vintage. The color remains a dark ruby with no signs of amber. The wine reveals plenty of sweet fruit in the fragrant bouquet. Although more tannic than most top vintages of Palmer, this is a full-bodied, rich, concentrated wine with the vintage's toughness and high tannin well-displayed. Yet I believe it possesses enough sweet fruit and extract to stand up to the tannin. Shockingly, the most developed bottle of 1975 Palmer I have tasted was from a ...

1975 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (mid to low shoulder fills, some nicked capsules)

95 points James Suckling: "I absolutely love the nose of licorice, minerals, black currants, and berries. Full and slightly hard and acidic, but I could smell it all night. It softens and turns velvety and dusty on the finish with lots of fruit." (01/2011) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine has finally begun to reveal some potential. It has been closed and frightfully tannic for the last decade. The wine exhibits a good dark ruby/garnet color, a sweet nose of cedar, chocolate, cassis, and spices, good ripe fruit and extraction, and a w ...

1975 Petrus, Pomerol
Bid on this bottle of 1975 Petrus, Pomerol (98RP, 97VN, 95ST, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most rustic and powerful Petrus of the last 25 years, this wine still has a murky garnet/plum/purple color, a gorgeous nose of overripe black cherries, mocha, caramel, chocolate, and a hint of iron and blood. Full-bodied, super-concentrated, with massive tannin and extract, this behemoth Petrus can be enjoyed but still seems another 5-10 years away from maturity. It is certainly a 50-70 year wine, with exquisite concentration and intensity, but seemingly the rough edges will no doubt be less appealing to those looking for pure seamlessness. Perhaps that will emerge with bottle age. (RP) 98+" (01/2003)

1975 Cuvaison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 1975 Cuvaison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "At auctions, value seekers should keep an eye out for the 1975 Cuvaison Cabernet Sauvignon with Philip Togni's signature on the side of the label, and the back label that reads, "Grapes from vineyards at the summit of Spring Mountain, St. Helena." This wine, the last Cuvaison made by Philip Togni, represented a special cuvee that was extremely concentrated. I had not tasted the wine until recently, but had heard of its reputation, and knew that Togni considered it the finest wine he had made at Cuvaison. Having just tasted it, I can say it is a stunningly rich, complex Napa Cabernet Sauvignon that has still not reached its apogee. The wine exhibits a dense, murky purple color with no amber, rust, or brown. It reveals classic notes of mineral and cassis, along with scents of underbrush. Extremely full-bodied, dense, and powerful, with extraordinary freshness and vibrancy, it
