2009 Foxen "Julia's Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir

90 points Wine Spectator: "Rich and full-bodied, boasting intense, concentrated ripe plum, blackberry and wild berry fruit. A touch of berry jam folds in on a minerally aftertaste." (10/2011) K&L Notes: A lovely 2009 Central Coast Pinot Noir from two blocks of Pommard clone fruit grown at the famed Julia's Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley. In 50% new French oak barrels for 16 months, this wine has a slightly hedonistic edge to it, with deep black fruit, a touch of earthy-meatiness and incense, fishing long and rich.

2009 Tensley "Colson Canyon Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Syrah

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Vivid purple. Spicy cherry and dark berries on the nose, with complicating notes of spicecake, olive and violet. The sappy, expansive palate shows juicy cherry, blackberry and candied violet flavors and slow-mounting spiciness. Finishes juicy, potent and long, with the floral note echoing." (11/2011) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Offers wonderful complexity, elegance and finesse, with a lively mix of ripe, vivid blueberry, wild berry and huckleberry flavors that are intense, full-bodied, focused an ...

2009 Sine Qua Non "This Is Not an Exit" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Sine Qua Non "This Is Not an Exit" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (96RP, 95ST, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More open, upfront and sexy, the 2009 Grenache This is Not an Exit is comprised of 79% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 3% Viognier, and 3% Roussanne that spent 31 months in roughly 35% new French oak. Showing overflowing richness, with notions of incense, spice cake, potpourri, and creamy raspberry fruit, it is a full-bodied, voluptuous, and decadent Grenache geared for drinking over the coming decade or so. Drink now-2023. About as good as it gets across the board, these singular, incredible wines are the result of an obsessive attention to detail at all stages of the wine making process. There is no secret or hidden magic going on here. The incredibly talented and down-to-earth Manfred Krankl simply walks the walk as opposed to only talking about attention to detail or offering up the standard, wine is made in the vineyard comments. 2009 Brewer-Clifton "Cargasacchi Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full ruby. An explosively aromatic bouquet displays red and dark berries, Asian spices, rose and minerals. Deeply concentrated but also energetic, offering spicy raspberry, mulberry and bitter cherry flavors and picking up a candied floral note with air. Finishes with noteworthy focus and mineral-driven lift, with the floral and spicy qualities repeating strongly. This sexy wine is delicious right now but I'd let it rest for at least a few more years." (11/2011) 94 points Vinous: "Full ruby. An exp ...

2009 Tensley "Thompson Vineyard" Santa Barbara County Syrah

According to Wine Spectator: "Rich, savory, complex and layered, this is firmly tannic and quite dry, a trait that may always exist. The pure, focused flavors are centered around grapey berry, cranberry and tart wild berry. Ends with nice traction. Drink now through 2018." (2011)
