94 points Vinous: "Pale yellow-gold. Bright and incisive on the nose, displaying intense citrus and orchard fruit scents complemented by suggestions of smoky lees, saffron and sweet butter. Sappy and seamless in texture, offering concentrated pear nectar, white peach, tangerine and honeysuckle flavors that spread out slowly on the back half. Finishes with impressive length, repeating pear and floral notes and a late jolt of dusty minerality that adds final lift and cut. One-third new French oak. Rich Aurilia is known to all long-time SF Giants fans as hard-hitting short sto...

90 points Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. Cherry cola, black raspberry and candied rose scents are complemented by suggestions of roasted coffee, vanilla and star anise. Palate-coating red and blue fruit, mocha and spicecake flavors show very good depth and take on a spicy aspect with aeration. Clings strongly on the long, smoky finish, which is given shape by subtle, well-knit tannins. Definitely on the rich side as Pinot goes, but there's unlikely energy here as well. (JR)" (11/2019)
