92 points Wine Enthusiast: "There is a strong woody touch to the nose of this bottling along with dried peach and dried mango aromas. The palate begins with a strong citrus-peel flavor then leads into green-pear and cider-apple flavors. The finish is a unique touch of kaffir lime leaf and lemongrass, which would go well with a wide variety of food. (MK)" (12/2018)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas of red-cherry reduction sauce meet with mud, clay, purple flowers, peppercorns and herbs on the dynamic nose of this single-vineyard bottling. The palate is quite dry and herbal with flavors of fennel frond, anise, and thyme, but there's a solid mulberry and exotic red-fruit core. (MK)" (12/2018)

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lemon balm, pink grapefruit pith and a touch of sour cream show on the nose of this bottling, which quickly freshens up into more citrus elements as it sits open. There is strong tightness to the palate, where fresh lemon, nectarine and warmer pineapple tones are dusted with acidity and sea salt. (MK)" (12/2018)

Wine Spectator: "Offers some floral notes to the grapefruit and lemon-lime flavors. Sea salt accents show on the finish. (KM)" (06/2018)

93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the two Chardonnays, the 2017 Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands is a winner and well worth seeking out. White peach, white flowers, a touch of lemon zest, and some brioche all flow to a medium-bodied, rounded, textured effort that has terrific purity and freshness yet packs plenty of fruit." (06/2019) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Pleasantly strong aromas of chalk meet with lemon blossom on the impressively delicate nose of this appellation blend from the Pisoni family. There is great tension to the sip, where a chalk...

Larry Brooks is one of those indelible California wine fixtures whom you've probably never heard of. Hired as the original winemaker at Russian River Valley's Acacia in 1979, he was one of the first pioneers of single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in California. After 19 years building Acacia into a juggernaut brand, he left in 2000 to scale way down and begin producing his own label, Campion. His three Chardonnays each focus on one expression California terroir from different regions along the length of the Golden State - Carneros, Edna Valley, and...

Winery notes: "Just like the weather where it is made, Mer Soleil Chardonnay is a dramatic and artful combination. Creamy and rich, the wine is balanced by a lively acidity. Fermentation and aging take place in French oak barrels for 12-15 months, using a mix of new and used for just the right amount of oak component. Only a portion of the wine goes through malolactic fermentation to ensure a firm acidity along with a hint of butter. We also practice hand stirring of the barrels to impart a creamy texture."

Antonio Galloni writes: "Kosta Browne is in the middle of a dramatic and ambitious stylistic transformation that has seen the Pinots go from being the poster children of fruit bombs to wines of far greater restraint. Needless to say, that is not easy to pull off, nor will it be achieved without some bumps."

90 points Wine Spectator: "Exhibits a deftly balanced mix of savory wild berry and blueberry flavors, with dusty, cedary oak and underbrush accents and a general sense of harmony and well-being. Ends with a strong push of the core flavors. Drink now through 2022. (JL)" (03/2017) K&L Notes: Developed by retired all-star Rich Aurilia and current manager Dave Roberts, Red Stitch takes its name from their devotion to baseball, but what's in the bottle displays their passion and dedication to fine wine. Made in tiny 100 to 300 case parcels, they are hand-...

Wine Spectator: "Floral notes accent the crunchy green apple and pear flavors in this white, along with plenty of rich, spicy shadings. Offers butter pastry hints on the finish. Drink now through 2021. (KM, Web only-2018)" K&L Notes: Lifted citrus and floral aromas open the gates to a rich depth of textured fruit in our 2017 Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay. White peach and lemon cream fill the palate, enveloped by woodsy herbs, green tea, and jasmine. These fruit and floral elements continue to blossom over time, as a thread of graphite emerges to wind...

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A clean pale-pink in color, this bottling offers bright berry aromas alongside citrus spray and wet cement. There is a great chalky core to the sip, where squeezed tangerine meets with a touch of pressed raspberry. (MK)" (01/2020) K&L Notes: The Pinot Noir for this rosé comes from 45-year-old vines that are thinned to encourage concentration. Harvested in August and bottled in January, this is a bright, fresh wine that's perfect for summer.

90 points Vinous: "Medium red. Intensely floral bouquet offers spicy red berries, smoked meat and tangy orange peel. Energetic and juicy, with fresh, sweet raspberry and cherry flavors and silky texture. Becomes more tannic with air, finishing with good firmness and sappy persistence. Interesting stuff, and sure to reward a few years of patience. (JR) 90+" (11/2008) K&L Notes: This may be August West's best Rosella's yet, evocative of this incredible site (and source of some of the most sought-after pinots on the market) in the Santa Lucia Highlands. I...

93 points Vinous: "Limpid yellow. Powerful, mineral-accented Meyer lemon, pear and vanilla scents show very good clarity and complicating suggestions of fennel and toasty lees. Minerally and focused in the mouth, offering pliant citrus and orchard fruit flavors; deeper suggestions of honey and buttered toast emerge on the back half. Shows impressive depth as well as energy and finishes smoky and very long, with a suave floral nuance hanging on. (JR)" (10/2018) 92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Aged 10 months in 15% new French oak, the 2016 Chardonnay Double L is...
