91 points Vinous: "Limpid ruby-red. Fresh cherry, black raspberry and a hint of mocha on the fragrant, spice-tinged nose. Sappy and expansive on the palate, offering gently sweet red and dark berry flavors sharpened by peppery spice and cola nuances. Shows very good energy and seamless texture on the gently tannic finish, which clings with tenacity and lingering spiciness. (JR)" (10/2020) Connoisseurs Guide: "A bit richer and fuller in flavor than its mid-density aromas suggest and opting for a more savory than sweet aspect throughout, this nicely stru...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Longtime San Francisco Giant Rich Aurilia teams with fellow baseballer Dave Roberts to produce a wine with restrained, focused aromas of black cherry, pencil shavings, sarsaparilla and hints of allspice. The palate is all about black gravel and turned loam, with tiny bits of black cherry and noticeably firm tannins. (MK)" (09/2015) K&L Notes: Red Stitch is a fascinating project between families drawn together by a passion for wine...and baseball! Rich Aurilia is known to all long-time SF Giants fans as hard-hitting short sto...

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Always a great value, the 2018 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands reveals a vibrant ruby hue as well as ripe cherry and strawberry fruit intermixed with notes of shiitake mushroom, dried herbs, and some meaty, earthy notes. It's a slightly more finesse-driven wine than some of the single vineyards and is beautifully balanced, has good acidity, and unquestionably plays in the same qualitative ballpark as all of these releases." (05/2020) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This appellation blend offers aromas of candied red cherry, strawbe...

Lithe and precise on the palate, offering light-bodied red fruit and spicecake flavors that show a touch of sweetness on the back half. Finishes on a lingering red berry note, with very good tenacity and just a hint of dusty tannins. (JR)" (10/2020)

2013 Paul Lato "Suerte - Solomon Hills Vineyard" Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir
Back In Stock!
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possibly the greatest wine to date from this incredible site that's located just south of Santa Maria, Lato's 2013 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard Suerte offers sensational levels of sweet red fruits, currants, forest floor, spring flowers and salty minerality on both the nose and palate. Sexy, seamless and elegant, with its acidity perfectly integrated into its core of sweet fruit, it doesn't put a foot wrong, has fine tannin and is already hard to resist. Nevertheless, it should be better in another 1-2 years...

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2018 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard is a little more dense, focused, and tight, with beautiful black cherry and currant fruits as well as notes of camphor, new leather, violets, and earthy notes. I love its balance. Medium to full-bodied, it has nicely integrated acidity, subtle oak, and a great finish. It’s going to keep for 7-8 years, easily. Along with the 2016, it’s the finest vintage of this release I’ve tasted!" (05/2020) 95 points Vinous: "Dark magenta. Intense red and blue fruit, incense, vanilla and spice qualities on t...

"Lucy" is the little sister to Lucia. The Rosé is made by allowing the grape juice to sit on the Pinot Noir skins for a couple days. After picking up enough color, the juice is drained from the grape skins into barrels, where it ferments. The short skin contact results in a wine that is lighter in color and lighter on the palate. A perfect picnic wine, Lucy’s essence of Pinot Noir and fresh acidity also allow for pairings with a variety of dishes throughout the seasons. One dollar of every bottle of Lucy sold is donated to breast cancer research.

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Pinot Noir Sleepy Hollow Vineyard offers more baking spices as well as darker raspberry fruit, medium to full-bodied richness, good concentration, and just a bigger, richer feel than the Logan release. It has some present tannin as well and will be even better with another year or so in bottle. It's a terrific wine." (10/2017) 92 points Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. Displays fragrant red and dark berry liqueur, incense and succulent floral scents, along with hints of candied flowers and woodsmoke that builds as the wine str...

91 points Vinous: "Lurid ruby-red. Highly perfumed aromas of fresh raspberry, candied flowers and allspice pick up a smoky overtone as the wine stretches out. 90 points Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. Cherry cola, black raspberry and candied rose scents are complemented by suggestions of roasted coffee, vanilla and star anise. Palate-coating red and blue fruit, mocha and spicecake flavors show very good depth and take on a spicy aspect with aeration. Clings strongly on the long, smoky finish, which is given shape by subtle, well-knit tannins. Definitely on the rich side as Pinot goes, but there's unlikely energy here as well. (JR)" (11/2019)

92 points Connoisseurs Guide: " *Two Stars* With its firm but not overly tight fruit making the early going and built alongside somewhat supple, gracefully balanced lines, this bottling shows plenty of varietal precision to its personality and stays on a consistent line from front to back. Its freshness lifts its ripe cherry fruit and a bit of creamy oak adds underlying richness, but there are tannins for aging as well, and as inviting as this wine would seem to be, it is bound to grow for a half-dozen years." (06/2015) 92 points Vinous: "Brilliant rub...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fresh carnation and raspberry are spiced up with peppercorns, smashed asphalt and turned earth on the complex nose of this bottling. The palate is quite cohesive in flavors of roasted cherry and ripe strawberry, with fennel pollen, crushed slate and baking spice adding depth. (MK)" (09/2020) K&L Notes: Nicky Hahn, who founded Hahn Family Wines and released its first vintage in 1980, led the effort to establish the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County as its own distinct appellation. The SLH was approved as an AVA in...

This rounded, plush, and sexy Pinot Noir is ideal for drinking over the coming 4-6 years." 94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Another head-turner is the 2016 Pinot Noir Double L, which was also destemmed and spent ten months in 50% new oak. It’s a tight, vibrant, youthful effort offering medium-bodied notes of blackberry and black cherry fruits intermixed with plenty of spice, scorched earth, and background oak. With beautiful purity, terrific balance, and again, a vibrant texture, it will be better with a year of bottle age and keep for upwards of a decade." (02/2019) 93 points Vinous: "Vivid ruby-red.
