2016 de Chantegrive Rouge, Graves

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of the leading estates in the Graves has produced an elegant, balanced wine. Wood aging has added to the fruit tannins to give plenty of structure to go with the black-currant fruits. This is a wine to age, drink from 2023. (RV)" (06/2019) 90 points James Suckling: "Some chocolate and leafy, cabernet character on the nose, but the fruit seems ripe enough on the generous palate. Slightly chewy finish. Wine Enthusiast: "This spicy, full-bodied effort shows the generosity of 2009. It has firm tannins, but they are matched by the full blackberry and black currant flavors. The dry core from wood aging is likely to soften over the next 2–3 years." (02/2013) Wine Spectator: "Tar and tobacco notes frame a core of currant fruit in this muscular red. 2016 Le Petit Haut Lafitte, Pessac-Léognan

94 points Vinous: "The 2016 Le Petit Haut Lafitte is a fabulous second wine from Smith Haut Lafitte. Inky blue/purplish berry fruit, lavender, menthol, licorice and cloves give the Petit Haut Lafitte its striking aromatic complexity. Deep, resonant and exquisitely layered, the 2016 is a real joy to taste. I would cellar it for another year or two. The 2016 has enough depth and pedigree to develop beautifully for the next 10-15 years. (AG)" (01/2019) 92 points James Suckling: "The freshness and the currant aromas are very enticing. 2017 Clos Floridène, Graves Blanc

This is the third wine of Château Haut-Bailly. From the winery: "Our third wine bears the name and style of its prestigious appellation, known for deep, dark, fruit-driven wines. Pessac-Léognan by Haut-Bailly originates from the estate’s youngest vines, which contain low levels of tannin. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (96RP, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is fun to go back and forth between the 1995 and 1996, two superb vintages for Haut-Brion. The 1995 seems to have sweeter tannin and a bit more fat and seamlessness when compared to the more structured and muscular 1996. Certainly 1995 was a vintage that the brilliant administrator Jean Delmas handled flawlessly. The result is a deep ruby/purple-colored wine with a tight but promising nose of burning wood embers intermixed with vanilla, spice box, earth, mineral, sweet cherry, black currant, plum-like fruit, medium to full body, a high level of ripe but sweet tannin, and a finish that goes on for a good 40-45 seconds. The palate is medium-bodied with impressive, tightly knit black fruit laced with cedar and white pepper. 2018 Latour-Martillac, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Latour Martillac bursts from the glass with bold cassis, chocolate-covered cherries and plum preserves scents followed up by smoked meats, violets and aniseed hints plus a waft of Provence herbs. Full-bodied, firm and fine-grained in the mouth, the palate is laden with juicy fruit and savory layers, finishing long and fragrant. 2016 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Le Clarence de Haut-Brion is another second wine that tastes more like a grand vin. Made from 51.3% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it too is deeply colored and has a classic Haut Brion bouquet of minerals, crushed rocks, cassis, graphite, and violet. It’s a st ...

2016 Pape Clément Blanc, Pessac-Léognan

98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Among the whites of the vintage, the 2016 Château Pape Clément Blanc is one of the most concentrated, deep, and full-bodied whites out there, offering up a red wine-like structure to go with beautiful notes of white grapefruit, Meyer lemon, crushed rocks, and exotic flowers. A blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 36% Sémillon, 9% Sauvignon Gris, and 5% Muscadelle, all from deep gravelly soils and brought up in 55% new French oak, this incredibly textured, pure, balanced white needs 3-4 years of bottle age and will keep for two decades or ...

2005 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 La Mission Haut-Brion is pure perfection. It has an absolutely extraordinary nose of sweet blackberries, cassis and spring flowers with some underlying minerality, a full-bodied mouthfeel, gorgeously velvety tannins (which is unusual in this vintage) and a long, textured, multi-layered finish that must last 50+ seconds. This is a fabulous wine and a great effort from this hallowed terroir. Drink this modern-day legend over the next 30+ years. Only 5,500 cases were produced of this blend of 69% Merlot, 3 ...
