91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from barrel, the 2017 Zinfandel Paso Robles is also very promising, offering up youthful primary aromas of ripe cherries and currants. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent, with melting tannins and a pure, juicy, fruit-driven profile. In 2017, Ridge was able to pick their entire block of the Benito Dusi vineyard in one go, meaning that all the grapes arrived at the Monte Bello winery the day that they were harvested, and that will also be the practice going forward. While the ...

91 points Vinous: "One of the more immediate wines in this range, the 2013 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard offers plenty of intensity and richness, with bright veins of acidity that prop up the flavors nicely and balances some of the more overt elements in the glass. The exuberance of Paso comes through nicely. Hints of tobacco, menthol and licorice add nuance to a core of sweet red stone fruits. (AG)" (10/2015) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Vivid aromas of smoky raspberry and cracked pepper combine with sleek flavors of dried cherry, sage and loam, gaining power...

Wine Spectator: "Sleek and briary, with floral dill and raspberry aromas and trim cherry and grilled anise flavors. Drink now through 2023. (TF, Web Only-2017)"
Price: $34.99

Benito Dusi Ranch is the only vineyard on the Central Coast that Ridge sources grapes from, and they've been making wines from the Zin vines there since 1967. The wines from this site are fruit-filled but balanced, with bright raspberry fruit and toasted coconut flavors.

At the core of Foxglove is Bob Varner, also the winemaker at Varner Wines. Beginning with their first vintage in 1991, Bob sources the wine from a variety of places, all of which are in Edna Valley. The resulting wine has Central Coast appellation pricing, and is full of complex fruit flavors that the Edna Valley appellation is known for. Edna Valley, a relatively small appellation, grows mostly Chardonnay on about 1000 acres. The entire acreage is tightly controlled by a few owners employing the most up-to-date vineyard practices that give the valley ...

This 100% Zinfandel is sourced from the Riverstar, Rancho Arroyo Grande, and Hinterland Vineyards in Paso Robles. The wine is aged in American oak barrels (20% new) for nine months. ABV is 14.4%. The winery says of the vintage: "Black cherry and cinnamon on the nose with images of sugar plum fairies dancing through your head. Some hints of black tea and plum skin as you take your first sip, leaving you grateful for Paso’s precious Zin."

89-92 points Vinous: "Another expressive Paso Robles wine, the 2015 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard is ripe, powerful and intense, with notable breadth to hand all of that dark fruit. Today, the Dusi is a bit burly, but it all works well." (12/2016) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Soft, silky and subtly structured, with briary wild berry and orange peel aromas and ripe raspberry, grilled sage and cracked pepper flavors. Drink now through 2026. " (02/2017)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From Paso Robles, the 2014 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard (planted in 1945) is the more potent of the Turley 2014s, coming in at a lofty 16% alcohol. It is not overripe, not Amarone-like, or showing any heat. This wine has plenty of blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, licorice, and roasted herbs that are reminiscent of Mediterranean-styled wine, with a full-bodied mouthfeel and a heady, lush finish. This is impressive, but clearly one of the bigger-boned, larger-scaled Zinfandels in the 2014 portfolio. Drink over the n...

93 points Vinous: "Deep lurid violet. Intense cherry and boysenberry aromas are complemented by notes of cola and candied flowers. Allspice and star anise notes emerge with air and carry onto the palate, adding complexity to sweet red and blue fruit flavors that show excellent clarity and spicy lift. Shows strong, fruity thrust on the youthfully tannic finish, which echoes the spicy notes. (JR)" (09/2018) 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "There is a strong but not overripe fruit character on the nose of this bottling from historic vines, with baked strawberr...

91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Zinfandel Dusi comes from a vineyard planted in 1945, and is still farmed by the Dusi family. It is one of the stars of the vintage for Larry Turley. (RP) " (12/2013) 93 points Vinous: "An explosive wine with real personality, the 2012 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard is all about voluptuousness and texture. Dark, ripe and seductive, the 2012 shows the inherent richness of Paso Robles. Sweet spices, dark plums and a hint of espresso are layered into the inviting finish. (AG)" (12/2014) 92 points Stephen T...

2014 Turley "Pesenti Vineyard" Paso Robles Zinfandel
Back In Stock!
96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the pure white soils/limestone terroir emerges the 2014 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard (15.8% alcohol). This is a warm area, but with cold soils, and the result is one of the great classics of Zinfandel from the Central Coast. The intensity of flavor, the colossal richness and the full-bodied power are totally concealed beneath a cascade of fruit. This multidimensional wine reveals gorgeous minerality, loads of black and red fruits, and even a hint of spring flowers. This is a stunner that is layered, extremely ...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "A beautiful shade of purplish red, this bottling shows cohesive aromas of black plum, strawberry sorbet, vanilla and nutmeg on the nose. The palate is full, rounded and rich in plum jam flavor, but with enough baking spice and a strong crushed rock minerality to add elegance and intrigue. (MK)" (06/2018) Wine Spectator: "Plump and jammy, with lively black raspberry jam and toasted spice and licorice flavors. Drink now through 2021. (TF)" (06/2018) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Mountain Zinfandel is a medium-bodi...

2012 Turley "Pesenti" Paso Robles Zinfandel
Back In Stock!
94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(16.2% alcohol): Bright, deep red. Pungent aromas of black raspberry, pepper and herbs, lifted by a mineral note from the limestone-rich soil. Wonderfully intense and energetic, with a light touch that belies its substantial alcohol. Captivating flavors of blackberry, herbs and lavender saturate the palate. Boasts a superb balance of sugar, acidity and tannins. This is spectacularly aromatic today but should really be held for a few years. (ST)" (05/2014) 94 points Vinous: "The 2012 Zinfandel...

Connoisseurs Guide: "As is the case with its siblings from Opolo, this is a Zinfandel little concerned with subtlety and constraint. It runs straightway to heady, late-harvest ripeness with a sweep of chocolate to its juicy and jammy, berry-like fruit, yet that fruit holds its ground against tannin and heat, and its balancing acidity keeps it away from heavy-footed softness. It is a wine of a style, and not one to pour with milder foods, but those who like their Zins big and ripe will have no complaints. *One Star*" (01/2019) Wine Enthusiast: "This is ...

2012 Turley "Ueberroth" Paso Robles Zinfandel
Back In Stock!
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even better is the 2012 Zinfandel Ueberroth Vineyard, which may be their oldest Zinfandel vineyard as it was planted in 1885. This cuvee tends to be higher in acidity, but it is also powerful and packed with beautiful black and red fruits intermixed with a hint of crushed chalk. This full Zinfandel has the potential to last over a decade. (RP)" (12/2013) 95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good deep red. Knockout aromas and flavors of black and red fruits, garrigue, minerals and high-pitche...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This unabashedly powerful and jammy wine shows black-cherry candy, sweet roses, vanilla, black rocks and black pepper on the nose. The soft tannins carry forth waves of vanilla, coconut, caramel and blueberry jelly, perfect to please those seeking a whopper of a wine. (MK)" (11/2017) Vinous: "Opaque ruby. Dark fruits, vanilla and licorice on the deeply perfumed nose. Sweet and energetic in the mouth; a peppery note adds spicy lift and cut to sweet cassis and black raspberry flavors. Supple tannins come in late, adding shape ...
