94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The star of the show, the 2010 Isosceles Reserve (90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Merlot aged 21 months in 100% new French oak) is a deep, rich and muscular effort that still has some oak and tannin to integrate. Graphite, smoked dark fruits, exotic spice and sweet oak all emerge from this brilliant effort, and it hits the palate with a full-bodied, concentrated profile that carries layers of sweet tannin, solid mid-palate depth and a great finish. The tannin quality here is exceptiona...

94-97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Not yet bottled and tasted out of barrel, the 2010 Booker Vineyard Syrah Fracture is possibly the most impressive vintage of this to date. A blend of 100% Syrah that’s aged all in French oak, it delivers a stunning bouquet of smoked black fruits, toast, chocolate, roasted meats, and crushed flowers that gives way to a full-bodied, structured, and elegantly put together palate. Chewy, ripe tannin frames the finish beautifully, and this is impressive. It should benefit from short term cellaring on release, and have a fairly broad...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More dense and rich, the 2010 Heart Stone Vineyard is a co-fermented blend of 51% Syrah and 49% Grenache that comes from a small 7-acre, south-facing vineyard located on the western side of Paso Robles. Aged mostly in large oak puncheons for 20-28 months, it offers up a savory, complex bouquet of kirsch and blackberry-like fruit, meat juice, Provencal herbs, dried licorice, and dusty minerality. Gorgeous on the palate as well, with a deft, elegant texture, building richness, and layers of chewy tannin, this beaut...

2010 Saxum "Broken Stones" Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Back In Stock!
96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even more perfumed and up-front aromatically, the 2010 Broken Stones is a brilliant effort. A multi-vineyard blend of 63% Syrah, 19% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache, and 3% Petite Sirah that was aged mostly in new French oak, it offers up a gorgeously pure array of black raspberry, charcoal, licorice, lavender, and assorted floral qualities on the nose. This flows to a full-bodied, deft, and elegant palate that has no hard edges, a weightless feel, and masses of fine, yet firm tannin on the finish. Give bottles another y...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Terry Hoage Vineyard is a blend of 46% Syrah, 33% Grenache, and 21% Mourvedre that comes from Jennifer and Terry Hoage’s west side Paso vineyard. Less gamey than when tasted from barrel, it offers up a pure, beautifully fresh bouquet of red and black fruits, spring flowers, ground pepper, leather, and wet stone-like minerality that flows to a rich, fabulously concentrated, and textured palate. Showing the savory, mineral characteristics of the vintage, as well as noticeable underlying tannin, this gorgeo...

93-96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "All from the estate vineyard and a blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, and 10% Mourvedre, the 2010 Torrin The Banshee sports a richer, fuller profile with loads of black currant and blackberry styled aromas intermixing with licorice, ground pepper, and superb underlying minerality. Full-bodied and impeccably put together on the palate, with brilliant purity and masses of ripe tannin, this serious 2010 will need 2-3 years to integrate, and should age effortlessly for upwards of 15+ years. " (06/2012) 96 points Robert Parker's Wi...

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I was blown away by the 2010 Ripper, a 100% Grenache done in concrete for the first time. It boasts captivating aromatic complexity, layers of sweet, refined fruit and fabulous overall balance. Vivid red fruit, flowers, mint and spices linger on the sublime finish. The Ripper boasts extraordinary varietal expression. Making pure Grenache in Paso Robles is not easy, but this is a model of what can be achieved here. Although impeccably restrained, the sheer glycerin and richness are pure California. The 2010 Ripper...

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Showing slightly more focus and structure than the straight Esprit de Beaucastel, the 2010 Esprit de Beaucastel Panoplie (60% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache and 10% Syrah) offers up a thrillingly rich and polished profile of blackberry, licorice, roasted herbs, spice box and assorted cured meat-like qualities on the nose. This is followed by a full-bodied wine that has layers of fruit and texture, building richness and a blockbuster finish where the quality of the wine really shows. While approachable now due to its fru...

94-96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "More rich and full, with additional roasted herb, licorice, and meaty aromas, the 2010 Tablas Creek Esprit de Beaucastel Panoplie is a big, dense 2010 that has loads of fruit, yet still shows the vintage with a cool purity of fruit, integrated acidity, and firm tannin that frames the finish. A blend of 60% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 10% Syrah that’s aged all in foudre, this full-bodied, powerful effort will require even more bottle time than the Esprit de Beaucastel, yet will have two decades or more of longevity. (JD)" (06/2012)...

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Torrin "The Maven" Paso Robles Grenache (95RP, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the top Grenache-dominated efforts produced in the vintage, the 2010 Mavin is comprised of 82% Grenache and 18% Syrah that was aged in 30% new 500-liter barrels. It offers up spectacular notes of red and black fruits, dried licorice, roasted meats, toast and subtle chocolate nuances on the nose. On the palate, this full-bodied effort is brilliantly concentrated and rich, yet stays remarkably graceful and balanced, with nothing out of place and fantastic overall depth. It still has some oak to integrate, so give it another year or two in bottle; it will age effortlessly for 10-15 years. (JD)" (08/2013)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Saxum "Terry Hoage" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (95RP, 95VN, 94ST, 93WS). Vinous: "Saxum's 2010 Terry Hoage, here in its first vintage, has developed beautifully in bottle. Today, the Grenache aromatics are incredibly resonant as the Hoage shows off a floral dimension that was not at all apparent when the wines was first bottled. Finely-knit and super-refined on the palate, the 2010 is hugely appealing. What a gorgeous wine this has turned out to be. I can't wait to see what Justin Smith does with this fruit as the vines get older. This first effort is promising, to say the least. The blend is 46% Syrah, 33% Grenache and 21% Mourvèdre.
