91-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the limestone soils of Paso Robles, the 2006 Zinfandel Pesenti is a beauty. The limestone seems to give Zinfandels in that area acidity, vibrancy, and aromatic personalities, but without sacrificing the intrinsic richness and intensity from low yields. This wine boasts fabulous briery, blackberry, and cherry fruit, a crushed rock note, and a long, heady finish. (RP)" (12/2007) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red-ruby. Expansive aromas of cherry, briary raspberry and pepper....

You won't need any justification to pull the cork on your bottle of 2006 "Justification" from Justin Vineyards. This blend of Right Bank Bordeaux varietals (63% cabernet franc, 37% merlot) has a bouquet reminiscent of childhood summers: raspberries, blackberries and a hint of hot earth. In the mouth, though, it's all adult: supple red and black fruit on the attack and mid-palate are framed by bright acidity and dusty tannins. Mexican chocolate flavors linger on the finish. Bid on this magnum of 2006 Saxum "Heart Stone Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (1.5L) (93RP, 93WS, 92ST, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 38% Syrah, 36% Grenache, and 26% Mourvedre, the 2006 Heart Stone Vineyard offers up scents of flowers, lavender, black cherries, raspberries, blackberries, underbrush, and forest floor. Justin Smith uses a lot of whole clusters in his fermentation, which seems to give his wines structure as well as nuance. This is the most French-like of Saxum’s 2006s, and it comes across like a restrained, northern Rhone-like effort that is only hinting at its ultimate potential. (RP)" (08/2009)
Starting Bid: $146.00

Bid on this magnum of 2006 Saxum "Booker Vineyard" Paso Robles Proprietary Red (1.5L) (94RP, 94WS, 92ST, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The denser purple-hued 2006 Booker Vineyard offers up aromas of acacia flowers, blackberry liqueur, charcoal, and graphite... it is a dense, full-bodied, mouth-filling wine that saturates the palate, and finishes stunningly long and pure." (08/2009)
