2017 Domaine Jean-Michel Dupré "Haut Ronze" Régnié Vieilles Vignes

After inheriting a small 2 hectare vineyard near the village of Beaujeu, Jean Michel Dupre converted an old farm building into a winery and sought out grapes from distinctive vineyards, many with older vines. According to the winery, the La Ronze vineyard is located on a hill located in the Cru Regnie, or "the prince of Beaujolais," as it is the region's newest appellation. A high level of granite in the soil gives the wine a pleasing mix of Gamay fruit and minerality.
