2014 Louise Brison Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Fermented and aged in wood, this Champagne is still young but is showing fine potential. The wine's acidity gives it a crisp texture and brings out the citrus and green-apple flavors along with the nervy edge. It will certainly age, so wait to drink until 2022. (RV)" (12/2020) K&L Notes: This Champagne was made in the most expensive way possible. The entire Brison estate is organic, and the wine is entirely barrel fermented. No detail is forgotten in making the vintage wines here, as the owner, Delphine Brulez, has a diploma...

2012 Louis Roederer "Cristal" Brut Champagne
Top Pick!
98 points John Gilman: "The 2012 vintage of Cristal is the first to be produced entirely from Demeter-certified, biodynamically-farmed fruit, which is a landmark for Maison Roederer. The future is now here! I have been looking forward to this release of this vintage of Cristal for a few years now, but sadly found myself not in top form to appreciate its debut, as I was so suffering from jet lag after my three weeks on the road in November that my energy level was no match for this beautiful young wine. The 2012 Cristal is its customary cépages of sixty p...

2017 Altamarea (Evening Land) "Seven Springs Vineyard" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
New!
This beautiful Pinot Noir was grown and crafted by the world-class team at Seven Springs / Evening Land as a custom, high-end bottling for the Altamarea Restaurant group. Because of the challenges COVID 19 has posed to restaurants during the last 12 months, some of the wine was surplus to requirement. As a longtime partner of the winery they offered it to us at a fantastic price! This main component of this wine comes from the legendary "La Source" block at Seven Springs. This parcel of vines was planted in 1984 predominantly to own-rooted Pommard clone....

2018 Moulin de la Gardette "Tradition" Gigondas
Top Pick!
94 points Decanter: "This is exuberantly fruity, ripe and vividly aromatic full of strawberry and raspberry fruit. The acidity is perky and bright and this has real lift and freshness. So approachable and drinkable - very well balanced with great tannic finesse and no excess. Made with 45-year-old Grenache, with Syrah and Mourvèdre. Grown on clay limestone and marl, handpicked, no destemming, aged in old foudres. Organic. (MW)" (09/2019) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Gigondas Tradition is the main production of the estate, a ble...

2019 Domaine de Verquière Côtes-du-Rhône
Top Pick!
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An 80-20 blend of Grenache and Syrah, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone is a medium-bodied, very drinkable and red-fruited offering. Herb-inflected raspberries and strawberries, silky tannins and a gently astringent finish add up to a solid effort for near-term drinking. (JC)" (11/2020) K&L Notes: The Verquière estate has been passed down from father to son for many generations and is now managed by Thibaut Chamfort. Following age-old traditions and sustainable practices, the estate was recently certified organic. The Côtes-du-Rhô...

2018 Lapostolle "Cuveé Alexandre - Apalta Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon Colchagua Valley
Top Pick!
95 points James Suckling: "The blackcurrants and violets are impressive on the nose with hints of slate. Full-bodied, yet always refined and in check. Linear and tight. Black olives and blue fruit at the finish." (01/2021) K&L Notes: 92 points Tim Atkins: "There’s no new oak at all on this Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend with 15% Cabernet Franc and Carmenère, allowing the ripe, full-flavored plum and blackberry fruit to express itself. The tannins add structure, the acidity welcome freshness."

Outstanding sparkling wine from the Languedoc? Absolutely and resoundingly, YES! There will be those of you who scoff at the price of this wine, and claim that a sparkling wine set so low will never be worth any serious consideration. Well, those of you would be WRONG. One of the rising stars of the Languedoc, Jean Louis Denois makes exciting, world-class wines that nonetheless remain amazingly inexpensive, owing to his location more than anything else. His vineyards sit in the very southwestern corner of France, at the foot of the Pyrenees, and he produ...

2019 Domaine Begude "Le Cerisier" Pinot Noir Pays d'Oc

Fresh and fruit-filled, modern white, rosé, & red wines represent great value for money and are available to buy at the Domaine and around the world. Mas Codina is a 40-hectare estate in Penedès which dates back to 1681. This Brut Rosé consists of Pinot Noir grown in their own vineyards in the middle Penedès region. Here the Garriga brothers are quite pleased with the results they see from the Pinot Noir grown in chalky-clay soils. They have been working organically for the past several years, and their first harvest doing so with certification was 2017. We direct import this delicious Cava, and it is arguably one of our best values in rosé bubbly right now. (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish wine buyer)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A lifted sense of lemon-zest purity precedes juicy lemon and peach notes on this wine's nose. The palate adds crushed yarrow to the lemon-rind concentration that gives it lift and extra aromatic dimension. The body is toned, pervasive and bold. (AK)" (11/2020) 93 points James Suckling: "The effusive nose of white peach is a little deceptive, because this dry riesling has a full and rather firm body, the minerals glittering at the bright yet structured finish. Well suited to serving with fish dishes. From organically grown g...

92 points Vinous: "Vivid straw-green. The mineral, floral nose is very pure and clean. Then fresh and juicy, featuring flavors of crushed stones, apple and quince complicated by lemon verbena. Long and vibrant on the juicy finish. This is a delightful, easygoing Sylvaner boasting outstanding clarity and cut. Will make a great, fresh aperitif. (ID)" (02/2019) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "A glint of ripe lemon and lifted hayflower escapes from the glass despite the shy nose of this wine. The palate emphasizes the lemony freshness and adds a pithy textural...

It has vibrancy and drama that are wonderful to experience. Best from 2023. (JG)" K&L Notes: This is the Breggo Cellars property founded by Doug and Ana Stewart in 2000. This fantastic Champagne used to be labeled "Blanche Brut" and comes from the villages of Pierry and Moussy in the sud-Épernay sub-region of Champagne. Bruno Michel has been organic since 1999. This Champagne is composed of 78% Chardonnay and 22% Meunier with 30% reserve wines. It is one of the most balanced Champagnes in our stock, with an effortless quality that is almost impossible to describe or resist. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold." (07/2019) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Notes of ripe pear and bright lemon have just a touch of honeysuckle on the nose. On the palate of this medium-sweet wine, the flavors intensify. The lemon gets zestier, and with residual sweetness the peach and pear become rounder and richer. Yet despite the sweetness, this wine stays balance...

2017 Domaine des Bosquets Gigondas
Top Pick!
94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Traditional Rhône varieties like Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault are augmented by a small proportion of Petite Syrah in this wine. Seductive on the nose, it offers perfumes of rose petal and crème de cassis accented by clove and thyme. Glossy blackberry flavor broods on the palate and finishes on ripe, velvety tannins. Lovely already, the wine should improve through 2030. *Editor's Choice* (AI) " (09/2020) 92-93 points Vinous: "Shiny magenta. 2018 Domaine de la Ganse Vacqueyras
Top Pick!
90 points Wine Enthusiast: "There's a refreshingly tart boysenberry perfume on the nose here, but the palate of this full-bodied, forward red is ample and ripe. Flavors of blueberry and fig preserve are plush and juicy but held upright by taut, persistent tannins. (AI)" (12/2020) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A co-fermented blend of Grenache and Syrah made and aged in concrete, the 2018 Vacqueyras begins with hints of road tar, but quickly adds notes of leather, earth, olives, and cherries. The result is reasonably complex and savory, medium to full-...

92 points Vinous: "Pale, shimmering yellow. Expressive, mineral-accented citrus and pit fruits on the perfumed nose, which is complicated by a suave floral nuance. Shows excellent depth as well as vivacity to the fresh orange, nectarine and honeysuckle flavors, which are supported a firm spine of smoky minerality. The floral element comes back emphatically on the bright, sharply focused and persistent finish, which leaves a discreetly sweet honey note behind. Wine Spectator: "This fleshy red shows black cherry, spice and herb flavors with firm tannins. It has good concentration and while it's drinkable now, it should improve. " (06/1997) K&L Notes: Joël Taluau was a fabulous grower in St. Nicolas de Bourgueil known for making some of the purest expressions of Cabernet Franc in the Loire, unmarred by the intrusion of oak--which he hasn't used in production since 1986. He was also the first producer in the appellation to begin domaine bottling. The Vieilles Vignes, from a single plot of Cabernet Franc planted...

Shows fine delineation and seamless texture, offering concentrated, spice-tinged Chambord, cherry, cola and spicecake flavors that pick up a strong rose pastille nuance with air. Planted in 1915 on its own roots, this organically farmed vineyard has fast become one of Lodi’s most prized sites under the stewardship of famed winemaker Tegan Passalaqua. 2019 Mas de Libian "Bout d'Zan" Côtes-du-Rhône
Top Pick!
The Thibon family acquired the Libian property in 1670, and in 1970 Jean-Pierre Thibon decided to wholly focus on wine production. Since then the estate has grown to 25 hectares of vineyards and 8 hectares of "nourishing" land planted to olive trees, vegetable and flower gardens, and grains to support the organic and biodynamic viticulture. 2018 Domaine Belle "Les Pierrelles" Crozes-Hermitage
Top Pick!
90-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Crozes Hermitage les Pierrelles made for a great start to my visit at this standout estate. It's grapey and intense, with hints of cedary wood accenting blueberry and blackberry fruit. It's full-bodied and supple, finishing lush and even a bit warm. It should be a lot of fun to drink as a young wine. When descendant Louis Belle assum...

It’s powerful on the palate with sappy, mouthcoating flavour and a long finish that has a touch of citrus oil and lime pastille. A little bitter twist on the finish brings freshness. Not the most elegant Saint-Péray of the vintage, but plenty of interest, featuring a touch of raspberry on the finish, unexpectedly. Medium to full-bodied, it's plump and soft, yet balanced, without excessive weight or tannins. Cracked pepper, ripe cherry and black licorice notes all come together seamlessly on the palate and linger on the long finish. 2017 Domaine Belle "Cuvée Louis Belle" Crozes-Hermitage
Top Pick!
93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Louis Belle is a winner. Lots of black raspberries, toasted spice, new leather, and savory peppery notes emerge from the glass, and it's ripe, rounded, and sexy on the palate, with light tannins and plenty of upfront accessibility. It should keep for at least 7-8 years. I always love tasting through the releases from Domaine Belle, and they always show classic yet clean, pure profiles that are a joy to drink. (JG)" (10/2020) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Precise and well-built, with expressive red plum, fresh tarragon and smoked pepper flavors that build tension toward well-groomed tannins. In 2000, Sophie started her own biodynamic, organic winery. She wanted to grow grapes that her son could eat right off of the vines. The Terrassettes is typically a blend of 72% Carignan, 17% Syrah, 8% Grenache Noir, 3% Mourvèdre. It’s really vibrant, with a subtle mineral seam and stalks that work well here, lending fragrance but without contributing hardness or astringency. It’s generous with a very long finish but not excessive - balanced and drinkable, but don't underestimate its ageing capacity. It wasn’t until 1930 that André Roux decided to dedicate the land exclusively to vines, especially the ancient variety Tibouren - not widely planted outside Provence, this is an intensely aromatic black grape with a thin skin, which is notoriously difficult to grow. This rosé comes from a handful of parcels that total seven hectares of vineyards planted in clay and limestone soils, on a gentle north-northwest-facing slope. Grenache-dominated, with smaller percentages of Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Like the Cassis Blanc, the wine is taut, fresh and slightly saline. The winery makes only a small quantity of this, making this extremely hard to find, but its deliciousness makes it highly sought after. Get yours before it's gone.

Slightly sweet, slightly sparkling and some skin contact with the grapes makes for one of the most incredibly unique wines from Greece we have ever tasted.
