2014 Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Champonnets"

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An attractively spicy nose features notes of earth and dark currant along with floral and sauvage nuances. There is excellent volume to the muscular, dense and powerful flavors that deliver excellent length on the moderately austere finale. This serious and built-to-age effort stops just short of rusticity and is well-worth considering provided that you have the patience to cellar it for at least 7 to 8 years." (01/2016)

2014 Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "La Perrière"

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A pure, elegant and airy nose reflects notes of wood, violet, earth and red currant aromas. The mouth feel of the medium-bodied flavors is distinctly more refined with its delicious, detailed and mineral-inflected finish that is again shaped by impressively fine-grained tannins. This lovely effort will need at least 6 to 8 years of cellar time and reward 12 to 15." (01/2016)

There is first-rate intensity to the punchy and mineral-driven broad-shouldered flavors that possess excellent power on the equally focused, balanced, firm, highly persistent and youthfully austere finish. Like the Gevrey 1er this is not super dense but even so it is very well balanced. That said, note well that plenty of time will be required before this reaches its full apogee." (01/2016) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2 ...

2014 Olivier Bernstein Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Champeaux"

94 points Wine Spectator: "Starts out with earthy, animal aromas, but cherry and blackberry fruit emerges with air. Smoky, spicy and stony, with a firm, chalky feel on the finish. Though a bit gruff now, this has potential. (BS)" (04/2017) 91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A cool, pure and airy nose features plenty of floral and earth nuances on the red currant and sauvage aromas that are trimmed in a subtle application of oak. As one would reasonably expect this is more powerful with excellent mid-palate concentration to the sleek and tautly mu ...
