2014 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate reduction presently renders the nose difficult to evaluate but there is lovely intensity to the strongly mineral-inflected and muscular big-bodied flavors that display fine cut and plenty of punch on the pure and relatively refined finish that delivers flat out superb length. This is potentially excellent though note well that it's going to require plenty of bottle age to realize its full potential. *Don't Miss!*" (06/2016) 95 points Decanter: "Very close, so little aroma. But the palate has bracing app ...Read More »

2016 Domaine Louis Jadot (Domaine des Heritiers) Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru

93-96 points Wine Spectator: "No Tasting Note Given." (05/2018) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru was a normal crop this year since the hillside was not affected by frost. It had quite a strict and laconic bouquet at first that demanded rigorous swirling, eventually revealing attractive cold wet limestone and apple blossom notes (I might have mistook it for a Bâtard-Montrachet if blind!). The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, plenty of sappiness here with a detailed, lightly spice ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Back In Stock!
2009 Domaine Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

97 points James Suckling: "Maison Louis Latour is one of the largest holders of vineyards in the region of Corton-Charlemagne, comprising 9.46 hectares of the total of just over 52 hectares. I have always been a great fan of Latour’s Corton-Charlemagne, especially the wines of the top vintages of the1980s. I have some bottles of 1989 in my cellar that are drinking beautifully now. They are still fresh and minerally with a creamy, vanilla and light tropical fruit character. I think the 2009 is very much in the same style as 1989. I love the 2009 Louis Lat ...Read More »

2015 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Corton Grand Cru "Bressandes"

96 points Decanter: "A brooding nose of kalaeidescopic complexity, featuring notes of red and black cherry, cassis, iron-like soil tones, woodsmoke and cocoa. It is deep, full-bodied and beautifully minerally on the palate, structured by fine tannins and juicy acids.Drinking Window 2018 - 2075.(WK) " (12/2016) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Plush and ripe, this red offers a mix of black cherry, blackberry, violet, vegetal and mineral flavors, starting out a bit slowly, then gathering steam as it builds to a long, saturated finish. Complex, expressive and ...Read More »

2016 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Clos du Roi Grand Cru

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The ripe and ultra-fresh aromas are from the darker side of the fruit spectrum while including plenty of spice, warm earth, menthol and plenty of sauvage character. There is both fine detail and a beguiling texture to the equally broad-shouldered and even more mineral-inflected flavors that possess even better complexity on the balanced and hugely long finish. Unusually, this appears to be just a bit less structured than the Bressandes and should also be approachable on the younger side if that’s your preference. 202 ...Read More »

2016 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Le Corton Grand Cru

94-96 points James Suckling: "The chalky and stony notes are intermingled with pastry and red to dark cherries, all leading to a palate that shows good acidity, impressive depth and weight of tannins. A cool vintage expression with more intensity at the finish. This will age very well. Try from 2024." (02/2018) 93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Very, very generous wood treatment is sufficiently toasty to presently dominate the otherwise layered nose of dark cherry, raspberry, earth and sauvage-inflected aromas. There is superb concentration, pow ...Read More »

2016 Maison Louis Latour Grand Cru Corton "Grancey" (Pre-Arrival)

99 points James Suckling: "Love the depth of fruit and intensity of this wine. It has dark fruit and floral undertones, as well as meat, which is very captivating. Full body, purity of fruit and nice, powerful tannins. Chewy and powerful. Focused austerity. A wine for the cellar. Try in 2022." (02/2018) 90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate reduction and wood toast make for a very pungent nose. Otherwise there is excellent volume to the relatively refined mouth feel thanks to the dense but fine tannins shaping the youthfully austere, comple ...Read More »

2016 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) Top Pick!
2016 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

95-98 points Vinous: "Bright ruby. Fruit-driven aromas of crushed black cherry and dark raspberry convey outstanding pungent lift. Incredibly concentrated, sappy and primary, conveying outstanding juicy purity and compelling thickness to its dark fruit and violet flavors. At once hugely powerful and utterly seamless, this wine finishes with great spicy length and lift. A real essence of Burgundy--and likely to evolve gracefully for 25 years or more. (ST)" (01/2018) 92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Touches of wood and menthol can be found on the ...Read More »

2011 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (Monopole) (Pre-Arrival)

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "As is usually the case with this wine when it’s young, the nose is restrained to the point of being almost mute though aggressive swirling liberates aromas of earth, spice, red currant and hints of the sauvage. And instead of the robust and well-muscled mid-palate there is an almost caressing mouth feel to the full-bodied yet refined flavors because while the supporting tannins are definitely firm and dense they are also quite finely-grained. There is excellent length to the moderately austere, tight, focused and ...Read More »

2015 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (Monopole)

97 points James Suckling: "I'm amazed! This is extremely fresh with orange zest and smoky notes, as well as intense cherry aromas. With its stunning concentration and vitality, this could wake the dead! A great and dynamic expression of this unique terroir that could be drunk now, but it also has a huge future ahead of it." (02/2018) 94-96 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is extremely ripe yet manages to avoid any sense of surmaturité on the once again liqueur-like aromas of black cherry, cassis, anise and lilac scents. This is a massive win ...Read More »

2017 Henri Boillot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival)

92-95 points Vinous: "Pale, bright yellow. Pristine but reticent aromas of yellow peach, smoky silex and spices; "this wine is never in a fruity style," says Boillot. At once saline in an oyster shell way and sweet in the mouth, but buffered by rocky minerality. This powerful, bracing wine is certainly not about fruit. Finishing with an element of tannic structure that reminded me of a red wine, this wine is hard to assess today but already shows outstanding saline length. Boillot picked this fruit on September 1, at the end of his harvest. (ST)" (09/201 ...Read More »

2016 Domaine Taupenot-Merme Corton-Rognet Grand Cru

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A much defter application of wood is present here too but in this case the aromas of plum, black cherry, earth and a whiff of the sauvage have no trouble being appreciated. I very much like the sleek, even polished mouthfeel of the bigger, richer and more powerful broad-shouldered flavors that display excellent persistence on the palate coating, dusty and beautifully long finale where a hint of bitter cherry pit can be found. This is very firmly structured and will need at least a few years of bottle age first but ...Read More »

2016 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Corton Grand Cru "Bressandes"

93 points Decanter: "The Bressandes reveals a warmer and less wild bouquet of creamy red fruit, anise and liquorice, compared to the Corton. This is followed on the palate by a fuller-bodied, more voluminous wine in a more expansive register, its taut structural tannins more immediately cloaked in fruit. Drinking Window 2026 - 2045 (WK) " (10/2017) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Matured in one-third new oak, the 2016 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru was unaffected by frost this vintage. 2013 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru New!
2013 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru

93 points Wine Spectator: "Silky and lush, with cherry, raspberry and smoke aromas and flavors in an approachable style. Balanced, though this needs time to resolve all the components. Offers fine spicy length. Best from 2018 through 2030. (BS)" (05/2016) 89-92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Unlike the Corton ’13, the 2013 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru was unaffected by hail. It has a ripe and fresh prune-tinged bouquet that is a little too showy for my liking. The palate is medium-bodied with quite dense, structured tannins. There is a spicy edg ...Read More »

2012 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru

93-96 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright, deep red. Deep aromas of black cherry, crushed rock and graphite. Dense, sappy and energetic, offering outstanding depth to its soil-driven black cherry and saline flavors. Delivers an uncanny combination of chewy texture and verve. Finishes with palate-staining length and lift, as tactile as a solid. A great vin de terroir for the cellar. 2016 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "(from a .5 ha parcel). Here too there is just enough VA to mention but not so much as to significantly impair the appeal of the well-layered array of red currant, cherry, dark raspberry, earth and a trace of menthol character. The rich, full-bodied and admirably concentrated flavors possess focused power on the overtly muscular yet refined finale that delivers seriously good persistence on the well-balanced finish. Note that while this is very clearly built-to-age, it should be reasonably accessible after only 6 to 8 ...Read More »

2011 Domaine Ponsot Corton Grand Cru "Cuvée du Bourdon"

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Quite deeply colored. This densely fruited effort is ripe yet the aromatic profile is cool and restrained with fine complexity to the primarily red berry fruit scents that are liberally sprinkled with earth, humus and sauvage notes. There is first-rate intensity and muscle to the equally complex, concentrated and mouth coating flavors that benefit from the impressive reserve of dry extract that buffers the otherwise very firm tannins on the strikingly persistent finish. This is definitely Corton but at the same ti ...Read More »

2015 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Corton "La Vigne Au Saint" Grand Cru

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Corton La Vigne Au Saint Grand Cru has what you might describe as a "cool" bouquet with expressive mineralité and very impressive terroir expression. There is class and sophistication wafting from the glass here, aromas that place you right up on that famous hill. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, bright red cherry and strawberry fruit with a chalky texture on the persistent finish that leaves the tongue tingling with latent energy. 2015 Vincent Girardin Corton Grand Cru "Rognet"

91-93 points Vinous: "(from 60-year-old vines in Le Rognet and Les Maréchaudes): Full red-ruby. Wild aromas of purple fruits, violet and earth, plus a suggestion of bloody rare steak. Juicy and fine-grained, displaying lovely texture and sweetness as well as noteworthy energy. This grand cru Corton is neither foxy nor austere; on the contrary, it's in a rather elegant style and not at all heavy. Finishes firmly tannic and quite long, building steadily while avoiding dryness." (01/2018) 89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is just enough reduc ...Read More »

This is a substantially-scaled wine that is classic Corton in every respect." 2015 Domaine Ponsot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pungent and well-layered nose exhibits notes of apple skin, citrus zest, white flower and a wisp of wet stone. There is fine vibrancy and very impressive richness to the generously proportioned, dense and sappy broad-shouldered flavors that deliver good if not truly special persistence on the citrusy finale. I wouldn't describe this as classically styled but rather as a seductive and forward C-C." Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An exceptionally ripe overtly exotic and liqueur-like nose displays notes of lychee nut, pear, mango and hazelnut. The super-rich and round medium-bodied flavors possess reasonably good punch given how opulent the mouth feel is, all wrapped in a slightly warm if persistent finish. This too would best be enjoyed on the younger side." (01/2017)

2016 Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (95VN, (92-94BH)). Vinous: "Pale yellow-green. High-pitched aromas of citrus peel, menthol, lavender and white pepper. Extremely tight without coming across as austere, conveying striking purity to its bracing flavors of grapefruit pith, lemon and crushed stone. Adamant minerality gives this very dense wine terrific inner-mouth tension and yet there's an element of leavening sweetness here as well, not to mention compelling floral perfume throughout. This wonderfully smooth, rich yet weightless wine really dances on the palate, spreading out on the unflagging back end to saturate every square millimeter of the mouth. Cellarmaster Emmanuel Hautus compared this wine to the 2009 in its combination of richness, early appeal and potential longevity. (ST)" (09/2018)

Dark fruits on the nose with Pinot lift and great intensity and purity. Very ripe with no trace of jamminess, while firm tannins give grip and structure. There is even better size, weight and power to the once again seriously muscular flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the imposingly structured finish that is sneaky long. The palate is well defined with juicy, ripe red cherry and boysenberry fruit, impressive focus with a more introverted finish that will hopefully come out of its shell once in bottle. Consistent with the elegance of the nose the medium-bodied flavors are a bit finer as well though they certainly don't lack for power, punch and concentration, indeed this is even more firstly structured and the tannic spine makes it indisputably clear that this is going to be a long-distance runner."
