95 points James Halliday: "85.5% cabernet sauvignon, 9.6% merlot, 4.9% shiraz. Destemmed, open-fermented, cultured yeast, 10 days on skins matured for 18 months in oak. Cassis comes up to meet the nose before inhaling begins, and everything flows on smoothly and logically from that point on. Byrne is achieving things others can't, this a very good example from a vintage that wasn't a cake walk. " (08/2019)

97 points James Halliday: "The venerable old vines dating back to the 1860s have produced a stunning wine that is a multi-layered, complex and compelling for its elegance, restraint and latent power; the bouquet is pure fruited on the one hand, with blackberry, red fruits, violets and a fine seasoning of spicy oak; the silky texture of the palate is enthralling, and the acidity provides lift and fresh acidity length. Whilst the price tag may raise eyebrows the longevity of this wine is assured." (07/2013) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Very ...

94 points James Halliday: "Medium to full red-purple; ripe, rich blackberry and chocolate fruit aromas lead into a gloriously rich palate offering the same flavours as the bouquet, untrammelled by oak, and finishing with soft, almost silky, tannins. Irresistible." (07/2011) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Warm, rich and supple, a seductive wine dripping with ripe blackberry, black cherry, vanilla and spice flavors that weave through the highly polished finish and last and last. Tannins are present, but nicely submerged. " (09/2000) 92 points Robert Parker...

James Halliday: "Early morning harvest, crushed, chilled, pressed. Bursting with lime juice and Granny Smith apple fruits." (08/2019) Wine & Spirits: "This is a project from Kaesler in Barossa, offering a rose-scented riesling with simple, spicy grape flavors. It’s touched by sweetness, reminding one taster of orange hard candies, while acidity keeps it balanced and clean. For aperitifs." (02/2019)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2013 Shiraz Covenant offers an intense, crème de cassis, baked blueberries and black forest cake nose enhanced by tar and chargrill and black loam nuances. This big, full-bodied wine is densely packed and structured like a brick house with firm and chewy tannins, good acid freshness and a long, earthy finish. It needs time. (LPB) 93+" (07/2015) 92 points Vinous: "(30% new French oak): Inky purple. Deeply pitched cassis, blueberry, licorice and vanilla scents are enlivened by a s...

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet with a touch of purple, the 2010 Shiraz The Armagh offers a beautiful black fruit core, yielding notes of crushed blackberries and blueberries, with an undercurrent of coffee and spice box, plus touches of earth and raw meat. Full-bodied and built like a brick house, it has concentrated, very youthful fruit that reveals many layers in the long, long finish. (LPB) 99+" (08/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Kilikanoon "Oracle" Shiraz Clare Valley (95RP, 94JH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Profound is the 2001 Shiraz Oracle, one of the flagship wines of Kilikanoon. From low yielding 40-year-old vines, produced in open top fermenters, and aged 24 months in 50% new French oak casks, there are 1,000 cases of this spectacular Shiraz. A dense purple color is accompanied by a sumptuous perfume of creme de cassis, blackberry liqueur, scorched earth, smoke, graphite, and espresso. There is tremendous density, remarkable full-bodied power, good underlying acidity, and a big, fleshy, full-throttle finish with fine acidity as well as sweet tannin. While still young, it should age for 10-15 years. (RP)" (10/2004)
Starting Bid: $82.00
