94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rose, wild berry and leather aromas mingle with menthol and a whiff of truffle. Chewy tannins provide the framework while a note of star anise closes the finish. (KO)" (10/2016) 90 points James Suckling: "This shows delicate aromas of rosemary with red licorice and dried berries. The smooth-edged tannins are very polished and do we...

(KO)" (02/2019) 92 points James Suckling: "This is a pretty Barbaresco with blueberries, incense, tar and rose petals. Medium to full body, lovely acidity drive and a medium-long finish...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "Cellar Selection: Aromas of game, new leather, humid forest floor and ripe berry mingle with whiffs suggesting cake spice and violet. The juicy, earthy palate is savory and loaded with personality, doling out fleshy Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, cinnamon and a salty mineral note. Tightly woven but polished tannins and fresh acidity provide the framework, while a licorice note lingers on the close. (KO)" (09/2019) 92 points Vinous: "La Ca' Nova's 2016 Barbaresco is a jewel of a wine. Powerful and yet wonderfully translu...

94 points James Suckling: "Dried-strawberry and watermelon aromas follow through to a medium to full body, firm and polished tannins and a flavorful finish. Shows focus and intensity. Drink after 2021. JS" (06/2019)

94 points James Suckling: "The balance and beauty to this wine are so impressive. Berry, cherry and blackberry aromas follow through to medium body, fresh acidity and fine tannins. I love this Barbaresco from the ex-winemaker from Gaja. Gorgeous. It's all about harmony. " (10/2017) Vinous: "The 2015 Barbaresco is pretty, accessible and very delicious. Crushed flowers, mint, and sweet red berries all lift from the glass in this understated, classy Barbaresco from Guido and Silvia Rivella. Silky tannins and a mid-weight structure give the 2015 much of it...

Ca' del Baio is one of the more wonderful, underrated producers in Barbaresco. The wines routinely deliver stellar quality for the price, from the single crus to this utterly charming Langhe DOC Nebbiolo. Producer's notes: "A fresh, easy-drinking Nebbiolo of the kind the variety is capable of producing on younger vineyards where care is taken over the ripening of the grapes. Obtained by selecting grapes from several different vineyards, it revives a never-forgotten tradition... Colour: garnet red with ruby tinges. Nose: fragrant dried flowers, with the a...

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas of new leather, ripe plum, vanilla and mocha mix with the barest hint of nail polish. The aromas carry over to the full-bodied palate along with juicy black cherry and licorice. It boasts body and flavor. K.O. " (09/2019) 93 points Decanter: "These vines were planted in Treiso in 1975 and the wine has shown exceptionally well in recent vintages. Since this vintage the farming has been organic. The raspberry aromas are muted, but are still stylish. Sleek and rich, it has appealing concentration and fleshiness, and it's...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas of rose petal, red berry and underbrush lead the nose. The juicy balanced palate evokes raspberry jam, red cherry, star anise and white pepper alongside fine-grained tannins and firm acidity. Drink 2020–2029. (KO)" (12/2018)

92 points Vinous: "Rivella's 2014 Barbaresco is gracious, silky and very pretty. A wine of perfume and bright fruit, the 2014 speaks to balance above all else. The 2014 possesses compelling inner sweetness and tons of finesse, all in a mid-weight style that can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, wild flowers and mint add an attractive upper register as the wine opens up. In 2014, Rivella's Barbaresco is all class. (AG)" (10/2017)

2015 Guido Rivella "Fausoni" Barbaresco (Previously $70) (Previously $70)
Top Pick!
92 points Vinous: "Rivella's 2015 Barbaresco Fausoni offers terrific depth and nuance, but in the understated style that is typical of the 2015s here. Sweet tobacco, dried cherry, anise, mint, orange peel and exotic spice all fill out in this very pretty and expressive Barbaresco. The Fausoni is the most expressive of the 2015s in this lineup. The typically firm Fausoni tannins need time to soften a bit, but the 2015 will likely always be somewhat edgy, as Barbarescos from this site tend to be. (AG)" (10/2018)

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "Rose petal, iris, dark-skinned berry and spice aromas mingle with balsamic notes of camphor on this fragrant, stunning red. Elegantly structured, the precise palate evokes cranberry, Marasca cherry, star anise and thyme set against tightly knit but refined tannins and bright acidity. It's a quintessential Barbaresco, with fantastic tension. *Editor's Choice* (KO)" (09/2019) 94 points Vinous: "The 2016 Barbaresco Angelo, the estate's top bottling, is a blend of 50% Ronchi, 25% Montersino and 25% Loreto, done entirely in cask....

93 points Vinous: "Things kicked up several notches with a flight of Barbareschis from the famed Asili vineyard. Asili is in the village of Barbaresco, where the wines are generally more feminine than in Neive. The best wines from this site have great aromatics and fine, silky tannins. Giacosa’s 2003 Barbaresco Asili enjoyed a surprisingly strong showing. It was impressive, powerful and youthful. (AG)" (10/2010) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A pale ruby core with tawny rim. A mellow nose with dried herbs, wild strawberry, singed leather and...

94 points James Suckling: "Raspberry coulis, wild-strawberry compote and dried oranges. Medium to full body, a sturdy core of red fruit, driven acidity and a cutthroat finish. Drink from 2022." (04/2019) 93 points Vinous: "Ca' del Baio's 2016 Barbaresco Asili is every bit as gorgeous from bottle as it was from barrel. Ample, creamy and inviting, the 2016 boasts superb richness and plenty of the suave radiance that makes the Barbarescos of Asili so distinctive. Dark cherry, plum, licorice, tobacco and spice all develop in the glass. Since I tasted it la...

94 points James Suckling: "Lots of dried strawberries with watermelon and hints of cherries on the nose and palate. Medium to full body. Firm and silky tannins. Flavorful finish. Drink after 2021." (11/2019) 93 points Vinous: "The 2016 Barbaresco Vallegrande is bright and fragrant, with tremendous energy driving the red/purplish berry fruit, spice and floral flavors. Medium in body and finely cut, the 2016 is a model of elegance and finesse. It is easily one of the most polished Barbarescos I have tasted from Ca' del Baio, and, frankly, what Barbaresco...

95 points Vinous: "The 2015 Barbaresco Montestefano is a glorious wine that captures Rivella's style at its best. Deep, fresh and full of energy, the 2015 shows a refined side of this highly regarded Barbaresco site, with soft edges that give the wine tremendous raciness as well as immediacy. This is a positively stellar, captivating wine from Guido Rivella AG" (11/2019) Jancis Robinson: "Barbaresco. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Slightly stalky yet sweet nose with a hint of vanilla. Sweet cherry with hints of vanilla on the palate and wit...

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Produttori del Barbaresco "Pora" Barbaresco Riserva (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Playing true to type, the 2008 Barbaresco Riserva Pora is another of the more open wines in this vintage. But that is only in relative terms. Layers of expressive red fruit, crushed flowers and spices flesh out in this radiant Barbaresco. In most vintages the Pora is one of the more accessible of the Riservas when young. The close proximity of the vineyard to the Tanaro River results in a warm microclimate that ripens the fruit earlier than elsewhere. In 2008, though, the Pora packs a serious punch. The coolness of the late harvest comes through in a finish laced with considerable tension and minerality. This is easily one of the very best Poras I have ever tasted from the Produttori. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2048. (AG)" (10/2012)
Starting Bid: $410.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Produttori del Barbaresco "Pora" Riserva (92WS, 90ST, 90VN, 90WE). Wine Spectator: "Offers fabulous aromas of blueberry and sandalwood. Full-bodied, with ripe, velvety tannins and a persistent, attractively fruity aftertaste. This will be gorgeous with bottle age. " (12/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Produttori del Barbaresco "Rabaja" Barbaresco Riserva (95RP, 95VN, 93JG, 92ST, 90WS). Vinous: "The 2004 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà is a super-classic, tightly wound wine that still needs time in bottle. The 2004 isn't a huge, powerful Rabajà but rather it is built along more nervous, sinewy lines. The expressive searing bouquet and salivating tannins are but two of many Rabajà signatures that are very much front and center. With air, the 2004 is approachable today, especially as some of the initial tension has softened, but readers who prefer the sweeter tannins of more mature, resolved wines will need to wait for at least another few years. (AG)" (06/2016)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2004 Produttori del Barbaresco "Pora" Riserva (94VN). Vinous: "The 2004 Barbaresco Riserva Pora is absolutely beautiful, and I say that even though I do not usually place this wine among the Produttori's best. Open-knit and expressive, with striking aromatics and salivating tannins to back it all up, the 2004 has entered a real sweet spot. There is a level of purity and centeredness to the 2004 that is impossible to miss. I expect the Pora will drink well for another two decades. What a pleasant surprise this is. Drink through 2029. (AG)" (06/2016)
Starting Bid: $250.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004, 2008 & 2013 Produttori del Barbaresco "Paje" Riserva Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2004 Produttori del Barbaresco "Paje" Riserva (94VN), 1-bottle of 2008 Produttori del Barbaresco "Pajé" Barbaresco Riserva (95W&S, 93RP, 93WS, 91ST), and 1-bottle of 2013 Produttori del Barbaresco "Paje" Barbaresco Riserva (97WE, 96VN, 94WS, 93RP). Of the 2013 Produttori del Barbaresco "Paje" Barbaresco Riserva,Wine Enthusiast writes: "Forest berry, chopped mint, clove and new leather aromas take center stage on this elegant, full-bodied red. The savory, smooth palate doles out succulent red cherry, raspberry compote and licorice while vibrant acidity and tightly knit, refined tannins provide balance and support. It has great energy and is loaded with flavor but will be even better with a few more years aging. *Cellar Selection* (KO)" (03/2018)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Produttori del Barbaresco "Pora" Barbaresco Riserva (95WS, 94VN, 94WE, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "A rich, cherry- and floral-scented red, effusive in aroma, with the core of cherry prevailing on the palate. Though fleshy, this gives way to firm tannins that line the lingering aftertaste. Inviting and full of energy, so decant now or wait. Best from 2023 through 2035. (BS)" (07/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Produttori del Barbaresco "Rabaja" Barbaresco Riserva (96RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Barbaresco Riserva Rabaja is utterly magnificent in this vintage. Usually a powerhouse, the 2008 is incredibly refined to the point it seems to literally hover on the palate. It is a wine of exquisite grace and beauty. All the elements are in place. I could describe the aromas and flavors, but that would be doing this majestic Barbaresco a huge disservice. Ultimately, the 2008 Rabaja, is all about textural finesse and pure elegance. This is another breathtaking wine from the Produttori. A king among kings. Drink through 2048. (AG) 96+" (10/2012)
