1976 L'Encantada 42 Year Old "Domaine Le Sablé #19" Bas-Armagnac (750ml) (Elsewhere $200) (Elsewhere $200)
Top Pick!
This wonderful cask of ultra mature Armagnac is proof that we're still in an absurd state with regards to the price of old brandy from Gascogne. This rare product comes from a domaine that only produced 3 vintages - 1973, 1974 and 1976. We were lucky to acquire a cask of 1974 before they completely sold out and have worked hard to keep in Encantada's good graces. We were overjoyed to have been offered this exceptional barrel at more or less the same price as the one we sold previously. Sablé was a very traditional production using itinerant distillers an...

Tracing their history back to 1365, Domaine des Lambrays holds nearly all of the famous Clos des Lambrays vineyard. Ownership of the Domaine changed hands many times since the French Revolution. Although the vineyard was given Premier Cru classification in 1936, the wines produced in the thirties and forties have long been hailed as legendary by critics. The vineyard was promoted to Grand Cru in 1981, so many older bottles have been relabeled to reflect that change.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1976 Burgess "Vintage Selection" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator: "Has a dense, dark color. Very rich, youthful and intense, with porcini mushroom, beef broth and dusty berry flavors are complex and intriguing. Finishes with good length and firm but appealing tannins.--'76/'86 California Cabernet retrospective. (JL, Web Only-2007)"
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this bottle of 1976 Chateau St. Jean "Laurel Glen Vineyards" Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1976 Cabernet Sauvignon Laurel Glen Vineyards (12.4 % alcohol) showed terrific intensity, superb purity and loads of licorice, black currants, new saddle leather, and spice box in a medium to full-bodied, powerful style. I was amazed by the vigor and youthfulness this wine possesses at age 39! (RP)" (08/2015)
Starting Bid: $80.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1976 Mayacamas Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97VN, 92JG). Vinous: "Things get back on track with the epic 1976 Cabernet Sauvignon. A huge, structured wine, the 1976 blasts across the palate with massive dark fruit followed by more ferrous notes that recall iron, smoke, tobacco and cedar. This is old-school Napa Valley mountain Cabernet - if I can say that – at its best. (AG)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1976 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "S.L.V. Lot 2" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This wine exhibits a solid, plummy color with amber at the edge. A dusty, earthy nose reveals plenty of ripe, plummy, jammy cherry scents, intertwined with aromas of saddle leather, licorice, and earth. This spicy, chocolatey style of wine has a certain hardness, but there is enough fruit to make the wine interesting and vibrant. My instincts suggest it is unlikely to attain complete harmony, but it is a gutsy, beefy effort that is atypically muscular for a wine from this producer. (RP)" (08/1994)
