2015 Andremily Santa Barbara County Mourvedre
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2015 Andremily Santa Barbara County Mourvedre (98RP, 96JD, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Produced from 92% Mourvèdre, 5% Syrah and 3% Viognier using 73% whole cluster and spending about 21 months in French oak (50% new), the 2015 Mourvedre has a deep garnet-purple color and a lovely spice cake, fragrant earth and fallen leaves-scented nose over the core of plum pudding, blackberry tart and black cherry compote, plus touches of anise and coffee. The full-bodied palate is packed with spicy, savory and earthy layers, with a firm backbone of grainy tannins and lively acid, finishing with lingering pepper and anise notes. This wine was reminiscent to me of Beaucastel’s Hommage a Jacques Perrin and when I mentioned this to winemaker Jim Binns, he smiled and said that was his inspiration. 130 cases were made. Unmistakable Dom Pérignon style with unparalleled silkiness throughout the palate. The mousse is worthy of its own chapter and the elegance is striking. Nice minerality and floral notes with citrus overtones. Slightly short now, but time will fill in the small gaps in the beginning of life. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2004-2005 Reserva Rioja Tasting Lot, including 2-bottles of 2004 La Rioja Alta "Viña Ardanza" Reserva Rioja (94WS, 93RP, 92ST) and 2-bottles of 2005 Bodegas Muga "Prado Enea" Gran Reserva Rioja (95RP, 94ST, 92W&S). Of the 2005 Bodegas Muga "Prado Enea" Gran Reserva Rioja,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2005 Prado Enea Gran Reserva spends 36-months in oak, nine months in new oak after which it is racked into American oak that is "semi-new" (i.e. a new barrel that is "broken in" with a wine beforehand). It has an unashamedly opulent bouquet of primal, ripe, boysenberry, mulberry, dark chocolate and crushed violets that blossom with aeration. The palate is full-bodied with crisp acidity cutting through the pure blackberry and cassis fruit. It has wonderful focus and intensity, though the finish demonstrates convincing composure. This is an outstanding Gran Reserva whose silky texture will instantly win you over. Drink 2013-2030+. (NM)" (08/2012)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Bodegas Lanzaga "Altos Lanzaga" Gran Vinedo Rioja (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Produced with a blend of grapes from four different old vineyards in the village of Lanciego, the 2013 Altos Lanzaga is the last vintage of this cuvée, as from 2014 the vineyards are bottled separately. 2013 was a cooler, low-yielding vintage. It fermented in 3,000-kilogram wood vats with indigenous yeasts for 20 days. It matured in 1,500-liter oak foudres and 225-liter barriques for 18 months. 1,931 bottles were filled in June 2015."
