2017 Fratelli Barale "Le Rose" Dolcetto d'Alba

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2017 Dolcetto d'Alba Le Rose offers a sweet and floral bouquet with rose hip, dried fig and cherry pie. The Dolcetto grape loves a hot vintage, and that's exactly what it got in 2017. Winemaking is simple (the wine completes malolactic fermentation in oak) in order to preserve that succulent and rich quality of fruit. This wine puts the dolce (or "sweet") in Dolcetto. 2015 Michele Chiarlo "Le Orme" Barbera d'Asti Superiore

90 points Vinous: "The 2015 Barbera d'Asti Superiore Le Orme is an absolutely delicious, entry-level Barbera from Chiarlo. Blueberry jam, plum, spice, licorice and lavender infuse this pliant, expressive Barbera. I can't think of too many wines that deliver this much pure pleasure at such a modest price. 2015 La Ca' Nova "Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina" Barbaresco

93 points Vinous: "The 2015 Barbaresco Montefico Vigna Bric Mentina is powerful, but not austere as it can be. Readers will find an earthy, savory Barbaresco with tons of old-school tannin and plenty of personality. The warm vintage has made the Montefico a bit more friendly in the early going than is typically the case. Rose petal, lavender and chalk notes all develop with time. Beams of Montefico tannin give the wine its energy and overall shape. Drink 2020-2035. (AG)" (10/2018)

Lots of flavor and focus at the finish. Needs five to six years to finish. Drink in 2024." (01/2019) 97 points Vinous: "The 2015 Barolo Gavarini Chiniera is ample, full-bodied and rich on the palate, and yet retains its explosive floral lift and brightness, two of the signatures that are such calling cards of Barolos from this Monforte site. 2015 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco (Pre-Arrival)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted this wine after bottling but before its commercial release. The 2015 Barbaresco will hit the market on September 1st. It was scheduled to be released in October, but because Produttori del Barbaresco is already out of stock of the 2014 Barbaresco, they decided to move this release up and shorten waiting times. I mention that because you definitely don't want to pop the cork too early. The 2015 vintage opens to a visibly darker color and thicker concentration compared to recent past vintages. 2015 La Ca' Nova "Montestefano" Barbaresco

94 points Vinous: "The 2015 Barbaresco Montestefano fleshes out in all dimensions, as it does in all the best years. Warm, rich and inviting, the 2015 is a wine of pure and total pleasure. Black cherry, plum, sage, lavender, menthol, licorice and spice take on exotic shades of expression. All things considered, the 2015 falls just a bit short of being thrilling. In exchange, though, readers will find a Barbaresco that will drink well with minimal cellaring. What a gorgeous wine this is. (AG)" (10/2018)

(09/2018) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a new wine that was only made in this vintage to address low yields and difficult growing conditions. In truth, it was also produced in 2002 for the same reasons. The 2014 Barolo is a blend of Nebbiolo grapes from the Grasso family's best vineyard sites: Casa Maté and Gavarini Chiniera. 2015 La Ca' Nova Barbaresco

91 points Vinous: "La Ca' Nova's 2015 Barbaresco is wonderfully open-knit and inviting. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, mint, spice and white pepper make a strong opening statement. The 2015 is a very pretty, easygoing wine. In other words, exactly what an entry-level Barbaresco should be. The ripeness of the year comes through in the wine's racy personality and slightly candied profile. There is so much to like, including the wine's undeniable appeal. The maceration period is relatively brief (15 days) and this has helped to fix the wine’s intensity, both in terms of its appearance and its bouquet. Vinification includes three years in botte grande. Mineral nuances and fresh acidity characterize the finish. 2017 Vietti Arneis Roero

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As one of the best quality-minded estates in Barolo, Vietti has little claim to winemaking fame in the Roero appellation. Regardless, the 2017 Roero Arneis is one of the most successful interpretations of this white wine on the market today. It falls under that Vietti magic wand. Less obvious and definitely more flirtatious, this gorgeous wine playfully dangles subtle hints of licorice, dark fruit, anisette and Middle Eastern spice in front of your nose. They morph and transform into something new and unexpected with each swirl of the glass.
