2003 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese #7

90 points Wine Spectator: "This lovely '03 spatlese combines the plush opulence of the year with attractive vanilla cream and floral notes, which remain concentrated and well-defined through the long finish." (04/2005) Vinous: "Very ripe and exotic on the nose, mingling quince and mango. Sleek, pure, creamy and refined in its display of tropical and orchard fruits, vanilla and malt. Lingering flavors of flowers, sweet herbs, spices and throat-coating fruit and wet stone. *Two Stars* (DS)" (01/2005) K&L Notes: According to importer Rudi Wiest: "Braune ...

New!
2006 Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erben Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A bouquet of hyacinth and gardenia, along with strawberry preserves and honey greets one from the glass of Christoffel 2006 Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Spatlese. Oily and creamy in texture, with malt, honey, and brown spices underscoring the wine’s richness – but plenty of underlying slate-stone character – this finishes with superb intensity, yet clarity, delicacy, poise and lift. It will be a joy to drink over the next 20 or more years. Missing from this year’s line-up is a “one star” Urziger Wurzgarten Spatles ...

2001 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Eiswein "Junior" (375ml)

98 points Wine Spectator. 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate "The white pepper, candied lemon, eucalyptus, and lime scented 2001 Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Eiswein "Junior" is the most reasonably-priced Eiswein of outstanding quality I've encountered. Jellied red currants, raspberries, freshly cracked pepper, and lively limes are found in its plump, pure, zesty character. While it is concentrated and powerful it remains friendly and forward. Its acidity doesn't shock, as with many of its Eiswein brethren. Drink it between 2005-2030+."

2011 Selbach Oster "Rotlay" Riesling

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Carob and toasted nuts inflect baked apple and vanilla on the nose of Selbachs' block-picked 2011 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Rotlay, which comes to the palate expansive, creamy, and buoyant (at 8.5% alcohol), its apple joined by almost overripe Persian melon. Hints of pip and botrytis bitterness add interest, but there is not the subtle interaction of flavors or the layer of primary juiciness that rendered the corresponding Anrecht bottling so memorable, but instead a more dominantly honeyed, soothingly rich personality ...

2010 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel

Schloss Lieser was founded in 1904 and produced some of the greatest wines of the Mosel region until the 1970s, after which it fell into decline. Thomas Haag, son from Wilhelm Haag (Fritz Haag) became general manager and cellarmaster before the harvest of 1992, marking the beginning of the estate's return to fame. With improvements in quality standards, a string of very good vintages, and high praise from the press during the 1990s, Schloss Lieser is again regarded as one of the top Riesling producers in Germany. The Erste Lage Lieser Niederberg Helden i ...

2011 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Auslese

94 points Wine Spectator: "Features a minerally aroma, with fresh, lively flavors of ripe peach, apple, pear and mango. Well-spiced, displaying a light, airy texture and a finish that shows hints of dried fig and white chocolate. Complex and satisfying from the get-go. Drink now through 2040. (Web Only- 2013)" K&L Notes: From Mosel Fine Wines: "91 points. This is still quite reduced but offers very nice notes of pear, cooked gooseberry, anise and dried herbs (laurel). The feel on the palate is round and comfortable and yet the wine remains rich but also ...

2014 Selbach Oster "Rotlay" Riesling Mosel (last of vintage)

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Rotlay offers a superbly clear and concentrated bouquet with tropical fruit aromas (mango, pineapples) and fine botrytis. Picked with 110° Oechsle, this is a sweet, piquant, highly elegant and refined Riesling with a lingering purity and salinity, as well as the repetition of the tropical fruit aromas of the nose. With great finesse and concentration, this is quite noble and expressive Riesling. 94+ points. (SR)" (01/2016)

2003 Willi Schaefer Graacher Himmelreich Auslese #12 Mosel

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Produced from fruit harvested after the region’s first late-October freeze, the 2003 Riesling Auslese Graacher Himmelreich A.P. #1204 displays a sweet, botrytis-laced nose and a personality that reveals a mini-Eiswein’s focus and delineation. Powerful, deep, and with cutting precision, it releases sweet and sour flavors of minerals as well as hints of passion fruit. Projected maturity: 2009-2030. Bravo to Willi Schaefer for having crafted such beauties! (PR)" (12/2004) 92 points Wine Spectator: "An almond aroma ...

1976 Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese

From the importer: "The Egon Müller estate has been in the hands of the Müller family since 1797. In the Mosel’s steep, slate vineyards, the winemaking master Egon Müller makes breathtaking Rieslings. The estate owns 8.3 of the 28 hectares of the famous Scharzhofberg vineyard in Germany’s Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. The family exploits their single-vineyard holding to the fullest, and consequently is ranked among the region’s top wine producers. These wines are taut and racy, with dazzling fruit; they’re severely mineral and have an endless finish."
