95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the higher-tier expression of Aglianico from this fabulous producer who is still under the radar outside of Campania. The Stefania Barbot 2015 Taurasi Fren is an expressive and beautiful vintage with enough inner tension and energy to ensure a long and happy drinking window of ten years or more. These offerings from Stefania Barbot are drop-dead gorgeous. That said, this wine is a bit more closed right now, but it will give a lot in the future with more bottle evolution. The Fren is made with fruit from 7...

Cantine Marisa Cuomo is a small winery located in Furore on the Amalfi Coast, where the vines grow on terraced slopes, which are also teeming with lemon and fig trees, and peregrine falcons still nest there. The Ravello is a blend of 60% Falanghina and 40% Biancolella. Winery tasting notes: "Pale straw yellow colour with greenish hues and a characteristic fruity aroma mixed with floral notes. Balanced flavour sustained by a slightly acidic note which enhances aromatic freshness."

From the importer: "The I Favati winery represents the culmination of a tradition dating back to the early 1900s, when the family’s ancestors began making wine in the traditional way for their own table and for a few close friends. The passion and artisanal traditions of those ancestors continue to thrive today. The I Favati winery is located today in Cesinale, a town and surrounding hilly area in the heart of Irpinia (east of Naples, in the region of Campania), a land with a profound calling to the creation of quality wines. Irpinia’s unique, ...

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The I Cacciagalli estate focuses on natural wines, some of which are made in clay amphorae (with long skin macerations, and fermentations with ambient yeasts). This expression, the 2017 Phos, shows pretty elegance and tightness that is further underscored by the naturally high tannins of the Aglianico grape. This wine opens a window onto the grape in its most naked state. This is a rare perspective on a variety that is often plied with extra oak and aging time. Instead, here you taste the natural bitterness of th...

Established in 1989 by Gaetano Ciccerella, d'Antiche Terra is now a global representative of the ancient history of winemaking in Campania. Working with indigenous varietals, they aim to capture the very essence of one of Italy's most historic yet underappreciated wine regions. This Fiano d'Avellino is a classic rendition of the varietal with bright, refreshing acidity underlying tropical and tree fruits with just a hint of smoke and almond skin to lend it a savory edge.

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Terra di Lavoro is off the charts. Everything is in perfect balance. Silky, refined tannins frame an explosive core of dark red fruit, smoke, minerals, ash, bacon fat, leather and minerals. The 2004 continues to develop exquisitely in the glass, with layers of aromatics, fruit and structure that continue to blossom over the course of several hours. The 2004 still needs bottle age, as it is incredibly primary. Its elegance, however, is impossible to miss. This bottle is simply out of this world. It now se...

This sparkling dry red wine is made from three grapes—Aglianico, Piedirosso, and Sciascinoso—that produce a stunningly good wine when served cold. Among the locals, it is known as pizzacola, because it is the perfect pizza accompaniment!

90 points Vinous: "Golden-tinged yellow. Very tropical (too tropical?) aromas are complicated by nuances of resin. Then fresh and vibrant in the mouth, not to mention very saline, offering flavors similar to the aromas. Closes long and ripe. Not especially graceful for a Biancolella wine. (AG)" (11/2019)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Marisa Cuomo and Andrea Ferraioli (and the rest of the Ferraioli family) have really hit a sweet spot when it comes to making wines that reflect the uniqueness of their territory and the distinct grapes used in this isolated garden of viticulture. The winery farms 20 hectares of sea-facing vines on stone terraces that are literally planted on the side of cliffs overlooking the panoramic splendor of the Amalfi Coast and the brilliant azure seashores below. The white wine, Fiorduva, could well be including in master list of ...

Cantine Gran Furor Divina Costiera di Marisa Cuomo is located in Furore on the famed Amalfi Coast. These coastal vineyards are perfectly arranged on the stone-walled terraces along the cliffs at altitudes between 980 to 1300 feet above sea level. The grapes benefit from sunny southern exposure and a unique micro-climate that occurs from a combination of ocean currents, mountains and high-pressure systems. The volcanic and alluvial soils of the vineyards produce relatively low yields, and the grapes are indeed flavorful.

90 points Vinous: "Good full ruby. Fresh herbs, pomegranate and licorice on the vibrant nose. Then fresh and juicy in the mouth too, smooth tannins nicely supporting the crunchy red fruit and underbrush flavors. Long, bright and very easy to drink. (ID)" (11/2018)

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This blend of Aglianico, Tintore and Piedirosso is a beautiful red wine with a lot of power, focus and depth. The 2015 Costa d'Amalfi Tramonti Riserva Quattro Spine shows good inner density and concentration, with notes of plum, blackberry and touches of exotic spice. It finishes on a soft note with toasted almond, although it does not lack for richness or tannic backbone. Some 4,500 bottles were made. ML" (10/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 2004 Fattoria Galardi "Terra di Lavoro" Roccamonfina (97RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Terra di Lavoro is off the charts. It now seems pretty obvious I underestimated the wine when I first tasted it a few years ago. One day the 2004 will be viewed in the same league with Mastroberardino’s famous 1968 Taurasis as among the most monumental wines ever made in southern Italy. (AG) 97+" (08/2010)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Galardi "Terra di Lavoro" Roccamonfina (98JS, 97VN, 95RP, 93WS, 91WE). James Suckling: "A unique wine with iodine, red seaweed, mineral and dried fruits with hints of figs. Balsamic. You can feel the warmth of the volcanic soil. Full body with soft and silky tannins. Stylish and characterful. Better in a year or two. You need to try this." (01/2014)
