Neal Martin writes: "Located in the heart of the village of Puligny is Domaine Pernot-Belicard, a less well-known producer perhaps, though their premises are certainly impressive. The internet seems undecided on whether it is “Belicart” or “Belicard”, though it should be the latter and without hyphen. The Aligoteurs talk a great deal about the quality of Aligoté Doré, and here’s some fine proof they're right. Organic. Drinking Window 2020 - 2025. Bid on this bottle of 2014 Domaine d'Auvenay (Lalou Bize-Leroy) Bourgogne Aligote "Sous Chatelet". Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe and overtly spicy nose combines notes of both white and yellow orchard fruit along with plenty of citrus character that can also be found on the delicious and unusually dense flavors in the context of what is typical for the genre, all wrapped in a sappy, lightly mineral-inflected and sneaky long bone dry finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. Moreover, this is an aligoté that is still very much postively developing and while it could certainly be enjoyed now thanks to the seductive mouth feel, I would be inclined to allow it another few years of cellar time first. In sum, this is excellent." (03/2019)
