95-97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru, which like the Chapelle-Chambertin is domaine-owned, has a more voluminous, multi-faceted bouquet with engaging incense and mineral notes infusing the beautifully defined black fruits. The palate is very well balanced on the entry with more tension and nervosite than the Chambertin, building effortlessly towards a quite regal, sophisticated finish whose mineralite lingers long in the mouth. Outstanding. (NM)" (12/2013) 94 points Vinous: "Medium red. Lovely spicy li...

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A brooding and very somber nose of both red and dark currants is liberally laced with both earth and game hints. There is more volume and excellent mid-palate concentration to the broad-shouldered flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the very round, delicious and moderately firm finish. I was quite surprised at how forward this was and while there is excellent persistence it is decidedly less structured and austere than usual. *Outstanding Value* " (04/2014) 91 points Vinous: "A more ethereal style of A...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also very Pinot but in this case the earth and sauvage characters are more pronounced. The textured and very rich medium-bodied flavors possess an abundance of palate coating dry extract that imparts a sappy mouth feel to the focused, powerful and muscular finish that displays only moderate rusticity. This is a relatively big but impeccably well-balanced effort that should age well yet drink well after 5 or so years. This too is recommended. *Outstanding, Top Value* " (02/2014) 89-91 points Robert Parker's ...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A spicy, cool and highly restrained nose features notes of various red berries, earth, humus and a hint of the sauvage. There is plenty of minerality that adds lift to the relatively supple middle weight flavors that are shaped by fine-grained tannins, all wrapped in a toasty finish that displays very good but not truly distinguished depth and length. To be sure the 2012 Bèze is a quality effort but it doesn't seem, at least not at this very early juncture, to have that extra dimension present in say the Griotte or M...

91 points Vinous: "The 2012 Beaune Clos du Roi is a gorgeous, surprisingly fruit-forward Burgundy. Black cherries, cloves, mint and licorice flesh out in the glass in a decidedly supple, round Beaune that offers quite a bit of near term appeal. All the elements fall into place in an effortless, impeccably balanced wine that will be hard to resist young. (AG)" (04/2015) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Buoyed by a silky texture and lively acidity, the cherry and berry flavors pick up spice accents on the linear frame. This is elegant and vibrant, with a long ...

92 points Vinous: "The 2012 Beaune Grèves offers a little more breadth and resonance than the Clos du Roi. The Grèves is both voluptuous and structured, with notable depth and plenty of power in reserve. The flavors are bright and mineral-inflected, yet the Grèves remains quite backward. Readers need to be patient here, but there is plenty of intrigue. (AG)" (04/2015) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Cherry, strawberry and floral flavors ride a silky texture, firming up as this unfolds on the finish. Balanced in a slim way, with a fresh, lingering aftertaste...

93 points Decanter: "Rightly praised for the quality of their top wines, the Seysses family also know how to deliver very good quality further down the price and appellation scale. This village Chambolle is a case in point. It's quite high in alcohol, but the 75% whole bunches bring some sap and freshness to the party, complementing the savoury red fruit flavours. Drinking Window 2023 - 2028. (TA)" (10/2019) 89-91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is also showing very well, exhibiting aromas of Griotte cherries, ...

2012 Taupenot-Merme Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru "La Riotte" 12-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
92 points John Gilman: "The Taupenot parcel in the premier cru of la Riotte is also not young vines, as these are now more than fifty-five years of age. This is very transparent and refined in 2012, delivering a superb nose of red and black cherries, espresso, woodsmoke, gamebirds, a touch of chicory, dark soil tones and a touch of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a fine core of fruit, firm, ripe tannins and a long, primary and focused finish that closes with a bit of youthful herbacité today. This will be lo...

Bid on this 9-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Michel Briday Rully Blanc "Clos de Remenot". Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Rully Clos de Remenot is a monopole belonging to the Bridays, but it has a slightly anonymous bouquet at present. The palate is fresh and clean and here there is some attractive hazelnut and smoky notes that lend it a Meursault-like allure. Fine palate – but the nose needs to muster some personality. (NM)" (11/2014)

2012 Domaine Faiveley Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru from Faiveley has a beguiling nose with brambly red berry fruit, damp earth, cold flagstone and just a faint smear of marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannin matched with assiduous acidity that lends tension and poise. It is quite backward, even compared to other grand cru 2012s, but there is the substance and the breeding here to suggest a seriously long and pleasurable evolution. This is one of t...

2012 Domaine des Perdrix Echézeaux Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe nose features notes of plum, dark berries, earth and a beautiful array of spice elements where the wood treatment is reasonably discreet though my no means invisible. There is excellent volume and plenty of punch to the solidly concentrated medium weight flavors that display plenty of minerality on the delicious, balanced and lingering finish where the wood reappears. This compact and powerful effort is not particularly refined but has the balance to reward extended cellaring." (10/2014) K&L Notes: PLEASE NO...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Mischief and Mayhem Nuits St-Georges. Mischief and Mayhem is a winery, micro-négociant and domaine, created from scratch, and now with 15 vintages under its belt. Industry veterans Michael Ragg and Fiona Traill-Stevenson are the owners/founders and have lived permanently in the village of Aloxe-Corton since 2003. They established a progressive, artisanal winery, dedicated to producing wines of the highest quality from across the Côte d'Or, encompassing many of the world's greatest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards. Starting as a micro-négociant, producing a small number of wines from key villages, Mischeif & Mayhem as gradually grown and developed an increasing number of close relationships with growers across the region. This has allowed M&M to produce a broader range of wines from both fabled, and lesser-known villages, and gain a greater understanding of these individual plots and vines.

2012 Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils Volnay 1er Cru "Les Caillerets - Ancienne Cuvée Carnot" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. Maybe I underestimated the 2012 Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets Ancienne Cuvee Carnot from Bouchard Père & Fils? Certainly seems so, judging by this gorgeous example. Here, it has a conservative and tightly-controlled bouquet with a touch of soy mixed in with the red berry fruit that does not quite deliver the harmony and poise of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied and bitter on the entry. There is plenty of sour cherry and juniper berry here, edgy and tensil...

2012 Château de la Tour Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose is similar to the regular cuvée from a compositional standpoint but the fruit is denser, slightly riper and more complex as well. The very concentrated broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent concentration as the copious dry extract both coats the palate and buffers the extremely firm tannic spine on the explosively long but impeccably well-balanced finish. This is distinctly old school in style and will require extended cellaring to arrive at its peak. I would not recommend buying this ultra-serious...

2012 Bouchard Père et Fils Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (3L) (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is also quite reduced in fact so much so that nothing is discernable, not even the spice. This is bigger, richer and more powerful than the Chapelle with more mid-palate concentration as well with a lovely mineral streak that runs the length of the wine before culminating in an explosive finish that really does a slow build. I very much like the overall depth yet it's all but certain that more will develop as this possesses ample amounts of underlying material. A classic Bèze that is built to age. (AM)" (01/2...

2012 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux Echézeaux Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A penetratingly floral nose offers up a broad ranging array of scents that include spice, plum, dark Pinot fruit and red currant. There is a suppleness to the mid-palate that makes this approachable already yet the energetic and powerful flavors tighten up fast on the saline-infused, intense and hugely finish. This is breathtakingly persistent and should drink well early but age very well too. *Don't Miss!*" (01/2014) 92-94 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red. Complex aromas of red ber...

2012 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Le Corton Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A lavish application of wood all but overwhelms the red currant, menthol, earth and pungent sauvage nuances. There is excellent punch to the large-scaled, intense and mineral-driven flavors that possess fine mid-palate concentration before terminating in a robust and moderately austere finish that delivers superb depth and seriously good length. This is an old school Corton and while not overtly rustic it's clear that this will require plenty of cellar time to arrive at its full apogee. In a word, excellent." (04/201...

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2012 Frédéric Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Borniques" ((89-92BH), 90RP, 90VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained and very cool nose offers up notes of both red and dark currant, floral hints and spice nuances that include anise and exotic tea. There is a velvety yet precise mouth feel to the mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess a lovely sense of underlying tension on the palate coating, dusty and lingering finish." (01/2014)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Echezeaux Grand Cru (96JG, 96RP, 96VN, 94BH). Vinous: "The 2012 Echézeaux is incredibly polished, with remarkable nuance, delicacy and finesse in a vintage in which so many wines are built on power. Effortless and gracious to the core, Liger-Belair's 2012 captures the purest essence of what makes wines from this site so seductive. The highly expressive, resonant finish makes the 2012 incredibly appealing today, but readers should be patient here, if at all possible. (AG) 96+" (04/2015)
Starting Bid: $1,420.00

2012 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru "Champans" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is a touch of reduction that is again just enough to shave the top notes off the otherwise pure and elegant nose so I would also suggest decanting this if you're tempted to try a bottle young. There is very good phenolic maturity to the supporting and well-integrated structure that shapes the sleekly muscular medium weight plus flavors that exude a fine minerality on the seductively textured finish. This robust effort is clearly built for the very long haul and other than perhaps trying a bottle young ...

2012 Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
94 points Wine & Spirits: "This comes from Jadot’s five-acre holding in Clos Vougeot. The vines in Jadot’s holding are 50- to 60-years-old, located from halfway to two-thirds of the way up the hill. My notes from the blind tasting read like a lecture from Jacques Lardière, the recently retired technical director at Jadot, who often spoke as if he’d been dynamized for a biodynamic prep: 'Floral buzz. The feel of limestone in the tannins. Energized. Vigorous.' Aside from the energy in the wine, there is a lovely richness, the powerful tannins seamlessly me...

2012 Bernard Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Evocelles" 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles was cropped at 17hl/ha, contains 60% whole cluster fruit with around 60% new oak. It has a lovely, pure blackcurrant pastille and cassis fruit, the new oak nicely integrated here. The palate is very energetic on the entry. There is fine tension here, layers of ripe but tense black fruit with a sorbet-fresh, delineated finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a superb Gevrey-Chambertin that should age for the next 10-15 years. (NM)" (12/2013) 91-93 points Vinous:...

2012 Domaine Louis Jadot Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Generous if not dominant wood serve as a not-so-subtle backdrop to the intensely sauvage and spicy red currant, cassis, plum and pungently earth aromas. The attractively textured and mouth coating large-scaled flavors enjoy copious amounts of palate coating and tannin-buffering dry extract along with plenty of minerality that adds lift to the imposingly structured finish. This massive effort is very definitely old school and there will be no point in opening this before at least a decade of aging has occurred. *Do...

2012 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 6-Pack (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Bouchard often does quite well with this appellation and so it is again in 2012 as there is fine complexity to the brooding nose that is less spicy than the Ech but earthier with game and underbrush nuances to the dark berry fruit aromas. There is excellent volume and focused power to the broad-shouldered, intense and concentrated flavors that possess an abundance of palate coating dry extract, all wrapped in a firm, serious, persistent and moderately austere finale. This will not be a good candidate for early con...
